I am now officially a 19 year-old college senior.
It feels so good to say that. College senior. Took long enough.
That hurdle is over, but now comes an even bigger and more important one.
THE MCAT.
I have until mid-August to learn everythinG there is to learn to get into medical school.......SHIIIIIIIIII *DIVES INTO BOOKS*.

Oh, please.
As my mother points out I will be 20 years old in a month.
My life has revolved around learning, knowledge, and the rational.
I, however, harbor an immensely deep and irrational fear. Cockroaches.
Today I was in the kitchen when I noticed a cockroach in the hall, blocking my way between my bedroom and where I was standing. I started whimpering, then when I was able to I called for my father. My mother yelled back form her bedroom that my father wasn't home. Meanwhile, the darn thing was marching up and down the hall, taunting me. So then I called my mother who yelled back that she was busy on the phone. I kept calling and calling and she kept yelling back that she was busy. So I started hyperventilating and crying. Once the cockroach made its way to the piano I rocketed myself to my bedroom. My mother admonished me for being a grown adult and still crying at a small harmless bug and then went looking for it but couldn't find it.
I know its irrational, and I know I shouldn't be afraid of them, but I can't help it.
This is exactly why you need menz around the house.

It's out of my hands.
Introverted (I) 81.48% Extroverted (E) 18.52%
Sensing (S) 65.63% Intuitive (N) 34.38%
Feeling (F) 57% Thinking (T) 43%
Judging (J) 60% Perceiving (P) 40%
Your type is: ISFJ
ISFJ - "Conservator". Desires to be of service and to minister to individual needs - very loyal. 13.8% of total population.
I agree with these results wholeheartedly. I am much more introverted than extroverted, moderately more Sensing and Judging, and almost even on Feeling and Thinking, though I lean more towards Feeling most of the time.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
It comes a few days late, but I just feel like mentioning it anyway.
Recently the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s death came to pass. I honestly feel that in this great history of a great world, there have been many great men, but few who have inspired as he did.
I'm truly grateful for what he fought so hard to accomplish, and all of the struggles shall not be in vain.
I have so much to say on this matter, yet I cannot find the words. Perhaps the expression of my sentiments would be to show in action the same infinite love for others. It's hard, and no doubt I will fail many times, but I shall try regardless. I shall try.

Eleazar just traumatized Mari and I on instant messenger, but me to a greater extent, probably.
So to make myself (and Mari) feel better, here's the latest things Steven Colbert has put on notice.

Geez; I really need to pet a puppy.

No Country for Old Men.
I wonder how clear I can make this.
I am not going to be impressed by jobless, dirty, lecherous men over the age of 35 who spend their time in quarter arcades hitting on teenagers, and I doubt any other women will be.
Note to all of you men out there, if you're balding, you probably shouldn't be hitting on 18 year-old girls. Get a job, get a life, get some decency, get a woman you own age and start acting in a moral and upright manner. Your current route isn't working...
SO QUIT IT.

I've been studying Physics.
I'd not as bad as it sounds.
Shocking coming from me, I know. I was thinking about torque today as I was volunteering at the VA. Pathetic, I know. Thermodynamics isn't so bad the second time around. With any luck by the time I get back from spring break I'll have most of it down up until optics and atomic phenomena.
Enough of that ramblings; I go to Houston in 2 days. I've very excited about getting to see my Rockets again and just being in my favorite city. Now back to studying Fluids and Solids and headbanging to X Japan. :)

Bright seasons will forever change again and again...
Spring Break is here!
I'm so glad. I was having such a good day Friday too until my Physics test came along. ; _ ;
I try hard; I promise I do, but the subject still alludes me. I just wasn't cut out to be a physicist.
In other news, I've gotten my AKFG pins and my shirt and C.D.s should be coming in soon. I don't know if I'm more excited about that or going to Houston. I hope everyone enjoys their spring break. No doubt I'll be doing some studying over mine. Might as well read up on physics while I have the time.

"Take the 'S' off of Scola and you have Cola....heh heh."
My Rockets won. 92-77 I believe the score was, but don't quote me on that. Also, my Suns made a crap of a trade. ; __ ;
Marion for Shaq? Srsly, Shaq? He's too old, too fat, and too slow for this game. Like they said, it's a dangerous move adding an aging 36-year old to your team when he's missed a lot of games over the years and his numbers have steadily been declining. I don't like the looks of this trade, others are hopeful but I am not. * _ *
Enough about basketball. Oh, all-star weekend next week, GO YAO!
K, now I'm really done talking about b-ball; I promise.
Today my Indian organic chem prof. asked me if I was Indian.
Me: "No sir, but I get that a lot, actually, I've been confused for Israeli, Indian, Native American, and Filipino before, but I'm none of those."
Prof.: "It's, the hair, yeah your hair."
Also, I'm convinced that my Physics T.A. hates me. 15 points off my lab report for "writing too much". ; ____ ; Sorry I try so hard.
This weekend, I ttly need to go play some pool. Maybe hitting balls will take away some of the school frustration.

And we haven't done anything yet, but still we'll keep going.
The most semi-amazing thing happened yesterday. I was leaving the student union when something in the distance caught my eye. The wind was blowing extremely hard, and somehow, someway, all of the papers had fallen out of this guy's binder. At the same time, a gust of wind swooped in, sending the notes spreading out in various directions.
About 15 people who were walking nearby suddenly stopped what they were doing and helped the guy out, some running after flyaway papers.
It just felt really nice to see people stop and do something nice for someone. :)

Guard my Dreams
Dear Steve Nash,
I find you to be an amazing player. Your charity work is honorable; there is no doubt that you have amazing basketball skills, and I enjoy watching you play. However, I would appreciate it if you stopped invading my dreams. I do not find them appropriate...and I'm sure neither would your wife if she knew of their content.
Respectfully,
Melissa.

If I was a center for the Rockets,Yao would be my point guard.
Basketball season has started up again. I'm so glad that now I'll have something to watch besides Boondocks and Kid Nation.
I'm apparently doing extremely well in genetics, I'm not quite sure how, especially since I probably devote the least amount of study time to that class. Oh well, I suppose it's best not to question some things.
Physics has gotten easier; I swear, I am brain-dead when it comes to physics so my last test grade was truly a testament to Dr. Corpuz's teaching ability and/or my own ability to get things done when someone lights a fire under my butt.
GOTTA GO, HALFTIME IS OVER!

Dear LJ,
Today I learned:
Sound can kill people.
It doesn't matter how fat you are when you are riding a waterslide.
If I was a center, Yao Ming would be my point guard.
College once you've finished the basics is stressful. @_@
Lots of Love,
Melissa.
