We have a large amount of money invested in a bank that just went bust.

Shit.
EDIT: We may lose twelve grand. Double shit. - S'all good! I heard on the radio yesterday that everyone with that bank will get all their money. *wipes sweat from brow* Phew!

On the plus side, my mother is staying remarkably calm. I'm just waiting for the stress to reach critical point and blow up her brain. And guess who'll be on the recieving end of her angry rant! Whee!

Autumn is the season I define by an onslaught of colds after the relatively healthy season of Summer.

Bad things about this weekend:
1) Ruled out Lancaster University - the course isn't quite what I'm looking for, and my subject combination doesn't allow a year abroad :(
2) I've got substantially less time to complete the first draft of my text transformation :(
3) Caught a horrible cold :(
4) Bought a coffee from Costa's to perk myself up, and drank half of it before I discovered there was a dead fly in it :(

Good things about this weekend:
1) I briefly overcame my ridiculous lack of confidence and (successfully) asked for a guy's phone number ^_____^


So, despite everything, I think overall this was a very good weekend! :D

1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)

2) Ask your flist to post questions in the comments.

For example:

'Under what circumstances might Five and Seven fall in love?'
'Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?'

It occured to me last night, in a flood of tears, that I've got a very busy year ahead of me, so I've decided to have a bit of a flist tidy-up, as it is my main distraction. I'm going to stop watching just about all of the communities I belong to (apart from the ones I moderate). I'm not leaving the communities altogether, although there will be significantly less contribution from me...not that I've been giving much lately :P I won't stop watching any of my friends' journals, but I may not leave many comments for a while.

I'll try my best to stay involved in the communities, particularly the Whose Line ones, but I'll probably miss out on a lot. That said, if there's any Brad stuff you think I might be interested in, do send me a message ;)

DOES ANYONE SPEAK FRENCH?

I just recieved this letter and I have a feeling it's to do with the purse I lost in France; I can only recognise the odd word, so anything would help!

Okay, so I'm finally starting some proper work on A Tale Of Heroism...but I'm reluctant to post anything that I've got so far. It just doesn't seem western-y enough.

Can anyone recommend any good western books/films? The less obvious the better. I'm going out tomorrow and doing some film-renting so I can have a marathon while the parents are away ;)

(Oh, and does anyone know a good way to get un-addicted to Runescape? Seriously, it's possibly the most boring RPG ever, and I've been playing it for 8 straight hours. That ain't right!)

1) Nestle Oats 'n' More can't hold a candle to Nestle Clusters. They are simply second rate.

2) LJ cuts are alive and well, people! I know it's up to the LJ owner whether to use them or not, and I really don't want to impose, but the point of LJ cuts on communities is to protect people from seeing what they may not want to see and to prevent flists from getting clogged up - the same applies to personal LJs! ESPECIALLY if you include pictures/photos.

Really had to get all that out of my system, I shan't say another word about it. :)

I must say I'm surprised, although it was my ambition for YEARS to be an actress. Community theatre, here I come!

I do sometimes get the feeling that I haven't turned out the way my mum wanted me to...

I've been watching classic cartoons all afternoon (after doing plenty of work in the morning, it's not like I didn't deserve a break). She walked in on me watching The Animals of Farthing Wood - an excellent show that appealed to me when I was 7 and appeals to me just as much at 19 - took one look and said in the most derogatory tone you can imagine "The Animals of Farthing Wood? Seriously?".

Well, yes! Seriously! For fuck's sake, I enjoy cartoons! I'm in touch with my childish side! It's not like I'm out getting drunk, stoned and pregnant, but she acts just like it. I know there's nothing wrong with enjoying the shows I grew up with, I KNOW that, and I'll continue to do it no matter what she says.


Sorry, just had to have a little rant. It was either that or cry because my mother won't fully accept me for who I am. Stupid woman.
