Here's a clip of The Romeros performing "She's Nobody's Valentine" at the Mad Planet in beautiful downtown Milwaukee Wisconsin. This is one of my favorite songs that I've written, and it's almost a year old. Watch, listen, enjoy!

[Apr. 25th, 2007|08:26 pm] |
Hey all
In between facing Misfits shirts on the rock wall at Hot Topic and slinging drinks at D.C.'s in B.I., I recorded a new rock and roll tune. Leave me some feedback!

| Electric Nights, Stay Forever Young |
[Apr. 16th, 2007|11:26 pm] |
I spent my Saturday night doing some home recording on my old reliable Fostex Multitracker. I needed some more space, so I finally decided to transfer The Argento’s live set from Broukals Tavern Friday Night February 11th 2006.
A little background on the show. We were playing as our alter-egos The Argentos as The Romeros were opening for Local H at Champs on the following Sunday, and were not allowed to play another show. We already had Brouakals booked, and we hate canceling shows, so we improvised, and what a show it was.
The show itself is a fun listen. The lineup was slightly different than the Romeros you know now. Myself on vocals and guitar, Bob on lead, Pat O on bass and the one and onlyScot Bohn on drums. In the year past, the Romeros have become more slick and more professional, but there is a certain charm to listening to this show. We played like a punk back. Loud, fast, rules! We did three sets that night. One consisting of originals, one of covers, and a third surprise set of whatever we could remember to play after hitting the bottle pretty hard. The banter between the songs paints a picture of a group of friends, in the band and the audience, having the time of their lives. We even got paid $200 for the show. Of course the show itself is only one aspect of this entry.
Listening to the show, I got a little misty. It’s like a photograph of a time and place that I’ll never be again. That Broukals show represented the start of a magical weekend. I don’t need to recount the events here in print (I’ll tell you all about it at the bar.) It was a weekend friendships were formed, enemies were made, drinks were drunk, fun was had and people fell in love, with each other and rock and roll. It was like a season finale to a television show, setting up the next season. I miss that time, in a year, everyone has grown up a bit, and times have changed, but I’m glad I have this snapshot to listen to forever.
Thanks to the wonder of LJ, here are some pictures from the nights!

| I'm Published Again! |
[Apr. 6th, 2007|05:03 pm] |
Way back when, I used to actually write in my LJ. Now, all I do is post flyers for my band. I actually submitted one of my old LJ entries to Trick News, the official newsletter of Cheap Trick, about 2 years ago. I had forgotten all about it. What do you know? They printed it.
