John's unofficial journal

More than 600 daily diary-dry entries from Sept, 2004, through Sept, 2006. "friends only" now that I have a responsible job. If anyone is lacking for reading material, just leave a comment.

New Year's web resolutions Jan. 1st, 2005 @ 07:42 am
Short-term
1. Visit boards just once a day, too time-consuming
This means UCLA sports, ebay, mac news, general Googling, exemptions are LJ, general news, modified 1pm, 1/2/05: add earthquake boards
2. Watch no sports but UCLA
3. No politics except in the general news - too irritating
4. <= 1 glass of wine/day (no matter how healthy the French claim it is)
5. Average 10 min/day running (walking counts 1/4, biking 1/2)
6. modified 1/3/05: No meat except fish

Long-term
6. Unify email and get a spam filter - too many accounts, attachment access problems, multiple archives
7. Spend an uninterrupted half-day on research every day - my teaching is done until fall, no excuse left.

Adherence and performance went to a friends-only page, should be private, but motivation to maintain resolutions will be stronger this way.
