I miss Don and Jerry.
So after work, I go to the parentals because I don't want to miss this 7:17 game. (7:17?!?!?! Fuckers.) We ate our dinner at the kitchen table between commercial breaks.

I may have blown a gasket during that pop-up, three run, because... how perfect was that? It was almost poetic.

But around 10:30 dad said he wanted to drive me back to Allston, because he had to be at the JFK by 7:00. And as we drive down Storrow, we see Fenway all lit up and he just sighs, "This is such a beautiful view." The Charles, the Boston skyline... my city is so wonderful.

Hollah at me, Patriots.

Another post about the debate.
If I had been playing that TV Guide drinking game that [info]wintergreen126 showed me, I might be dead right now.

My view on the debate no one wants to hear. )

Ohhh ohhhh! I want to be part of the viral video surge too! Shamelessly stolen from [info]ericjay... because Sarah Silverman never fails to make me laugh.

Please to stop assaulting my eyes withy our poor taste.
This entry is the result of my morning commute, but has nothing to do with the inconsistencies of Boston's mass transit.

You see, Leslie is about to play 'What Not to Wear'... PEOPLE SHOULD NOT WEAR CERTAIN FABRICS! )

Other than that, I am sick. And a train wreck.

I stayed up to watch the game last evening which wasn't the best decision ever, though it was worth it because Lester was brilliant.

Watching the debate this evening with a one Ms. Krisela Millios and hopefully having a few good laughs.

Wow, it's hard to type!
1. Super jittery right now; didn't fall asleep until around 4:00 (I'm assuming, that was the last time I looked at the clock) and have had two espresso and feel like I'm going to fall out of my chair. Am not prepared for class. We have a huge event tomorrow and so not prepared for that either.

1a. Ahoy, stock market. You frighten me. And that's all I'll say because I spent hours yesterday on the phone with friends who work in finance, hedge funds, whatnot and listened to them freak out.

2.Was thinking of taking the sister to Lizzie Borden's house for her birthday weekend. We were going to do NYC, but definitely don't have the cash for that unless was crashing on someone's floor.

3. I feel horrible for the Mets and for all of my friends who are Mets fans. Postseason, you tend to crush souls. I both love and hate this about you.

4. Bruins lost to the Caps (and how fitting that Chris Bourque scored the winning goal) but went to a fantastic gathering that evening. And photos are quite hilarious. You can click here to see them, just click on the thumbnail of the photo on the right to move to the next one. Was fantastically out of commission on Sunday with a raging fever and more than a little tummy ache.

Take a shot every time:

  • Someone says fundemental difference.
  • Someone says fundamental problem.
  • John McCain chuckles at something no one finds amusing.
  • You kinda fall in love with Jim Lehrer... all over again.

I'm kidding about all of that. (I think.)

SVU fic! Offers of goodies! AND SO MUCH EFFIN MORE!

  • The Sox clinched the playoffs tonight; Josh Beckett was amusing in comparing football to baseball. "Nothing against football, but... we come out here and do it every night."

  • I am going to the Sox game tonight. Is there any photos or memorabilia I can get for anyone?

  • My father and I have been invited to sit in the premium boxes on Saturday; is there anyone who wants two tickets to the preseason Bruins/Capitols game for twenty-five bucks? (They're balcony seats, but I paid fifty for them... with all of those surcharges...)

  • While the Pats were losing (FUCKITY FUCK FUCK!) to the DOLPHINS (THE MOTHERFUCKING DOLPHINS!) Tom Brady was out shopping with his kid. That's fine and good but... what bothers me about this little snippet is the HAT HE'S WEARING IN THE PHOTO! Come on Tom, you couldn't be... like an Angels fan or something? I thought you were better than that. (Thanks to [info]sp0ngebob for the link.)

  • OMG! WINDSHIELD WIPERS! No, but really, Greg Kinnear, Alan Alda AND Mitch Pileggi in a movie together? of sweet jesus.

  • AND ANNA FRIEL AND WILL FERRELL TOGETHER!?!?! This 'Land of the Lost' movie could be brilliant... or tank. You know, either/or.

  • My dislike of the new ADA on SVU cannot be contained. At all. (Last night's episode was not. Good. At. All.) Still waiting for House...

Happy belated birthday to the wonderful and Australian [info]myshka23! And happy birthday to the wonderful and Canadian (really?) [info]dirtyvirgin. Mmmm yeah cake and ice cream...

Last night marked the third consecutive night I could not sleep; thankfully, my boss is allowing me to take a half day today. Must go home and try to sleep. Must. MUST!

Lori purchased tickets in Conigliaro's Corner months ago, so I'll be at the game tomorrow night. Hollllller. (Though last night's game crushed my soul.)

I have SVU (premiere tonight!!!) to post later, maybe. I'm finishing up an [info]xf_pornbattle piece. I started a House fic that I really enjoy. Writing is... okay going. It's not my usual style but whatever. At least I'm writing. Right? Write.

ETA: And thank you, to everyone who gave me nods at the CSI Fanfiction awards. That was really cool of you. It was actually my ficathon '08 fic that won the... PWP: Smut/het category, so my thanks have to go to everyone at [info]geekfiction too. Day one of perpetual power...
Does anyone need a brand spanking new notebook harddrive? It's a Western Digital WD Scorpio, 160 GB SATA drive. I paid $83.00, but I'd be willing to part with it for $65.00... and I'd pick up the shipping. Normally I'd just GIVE IT away, but money's a scotche tight this month. Eh? Any takers? Eh?

Oh Boston Herald, oh Boston in general, you make me lol sometimes. (But not as much as the Blue Jays uniforms.) Dane Cook Day?

And in response to that, The Phoenix always brings the funny. And the truth; damn RIGHT Denis Leary should get a day. AND Conan, yes, yes. AND STEVE FRICKIN CARELL!

Why my education is driving me to drink: A saga of sorts. )

Last evening, I indulged in a libation at the 21st Amendment (one of our frequented bars, across the way from the State House) and it struck me how incredibly LOUD post-work politicians, civil servants are. Screaming. Guffawing. Slamming their fists. Making their point. It was... maddening. I had to consume two beers before I could stand the atmosphere.

The Red Sox got slaughtered. I'm... not looking forward to the rest of the day. (Except sleeping this evening; I am looking forward to that.)

I hope, really, that everyone else is having a fantastic day.

Meme yourself to death!!!
I have a few new people on the f'list and in getting to know me, I'd like to get to know you. And even if I know you... REALLY WELL... fill this out. Make shit up.

Listen, I just did four hours of stats homework, is it so much to ask for a little entertainment? Sheesh!

Get to know me, get to know you!... )

I didn't vote yesterday! STOP THROWING SHIT AT ME! I would have had to go in there and decide to vote for Kerry... or for the crazy douchebag (O'Reilly) who's running against Kerry. And Kerry took it anyway (MMMMMMMMMMMMMMassachusestts politics!) I went on a date instead. Sue me. (No, don't, I feel horrible about not voting!)

Oh, and they're building a movie studio in Plymouth. And one in Stoneham... please no. I mean, that's relatively cool but let's not turn this into L.A., huh?

House was meh. Not the worst episode ever, but certainly didn't feel like a season premiere.

Knock on wood.
FRICK! Happy birthday to [info]cropper1818 and [info]rivermalachi. Hope the day is filled with so much awesome that your heads explode! (In a good way, of course!)

I'm already done with this day; I anticipate is being made largely of significant portions of fail. Janice isn't coming in and I have a pile of work up to HERE. And then class, and then I'm going out with Tim.

Thinking I'm just going to lay all of the crazy on the line, why not, right?

I'm sure most of you already know but Lori updated her journal! Shock and awe people, shock and awe. No she is not a mirage, or a figment of your imagination or one of my multiple personalities.

So, this meme that's going around, ten or twelve people have cited that I am #24, likely to kill anyone who messes with me. What the hell? Do I really come off as that violent? (Don't answer that, I know I am.)

Posting the Walk For Diabetes link again, in case anyone feels like donating. My team is 41% to our goal! YAY!

Sox are tied for first (Pedroia just needs to shave his head, that male pattern baldness does NOT suit him); Yankees are 9 games back. I'm happy about this. What else am I happy about? That Sunday's Entourage was phenomenal and that the Pats beat the Jets even without Tom. :::knocks on wood:::

I have nothing more of interest to say.

HAPPY FREAKIN' BIRTHDAY TO [info]everywhereto_me

I just want everyone to know that this is one of my favorite photos EVER.

And that I had a lot of fun with [info]hyacinthian (Though what? We end up at Harvard at midnight playing retro video games!? Lols!) and [info]marcasite Separate occasions.

Dear New Season of Entourage,

Thank you, for being you.

I am SO excited about the new season. After the 'Medellin' disaster, things can only get better, right? Johnny Drama didn't actually grate on my nerves as much as he usually does! (Actually, he had some pretty zany one-liners that I really appreciated.)

And Ari/Llyod? Oh, you make my life; you have no idea. No. Idea.

Psych?! Gary Cole AND Alan Ruck? Oh my, my yes. Absolutely yes. Fabulous casting there, fabulous. I'm totally digging the Lassiter/Jules interaction lately, much lighter, much sweeter to watch and the Shawn/Juliet dynamic is also much more... frustrating. Which I love. Lovelovelove.

This smorgasbord includes a song that contains one of my favorite lyrics: "Her plane takes off from Baltimore and touches down on Bourbon Street." I'm not quite sure why I love it so much, but it's incredibly poetic to me.

FREE MUSIC!!! And individually wrapped for easier downloading! Lyric snippets included. )

Okay, I know Fallout Boy is whiny and emo and annoying and ripped off a local hardcore band's lyrics... but I love them. Can't help it. And I will no longer hide my love of them. The end.

A plea for help!
Dear Wonderful Friends List,

My muse is being, in the words of a one Michael Scott, an ignorant slut. I'd like to write X-Files. I'd like to write CSI. I'd even write The Office or House or Psych or even The Matrix if I cold just GET INSPIRED.

So, if you feel up to it, spam me with words or photos or songs or quotes or lyrics that might get me back in the groove.

Please?

PLEASE!?

And on an unrelated note, I'll post a photo of my hair as soon as the weather permits, for you see, even a HINT of moisture causes poofage. The end.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO [info]barenakedrachel!!! WHEEEE!

...having Cora up as a savior in the BOTTOM OF THE FOURTEENTH INNING is about as useless as tossing me a bat and sending me in there. You could just SEE IT, him with his .288 and 9 RBIs stepping up to the plate, all of the hope in Fenway was just... sucked out. Why did I stay up until midnight watching this game? Still we're only 2.5 back and New York is 11 games back and if we have to take Wild Card we have to take Wild Card.

Bruins talk... )

But what was most amusing, was that everyone joined in in welcoming Lucic with a loud and hearty "Looooooooo" as a rip off of "Youuuuuuu for Youkilis." It was amusing. We had fun. But with free tee shirts, hot dogs, popcorn and pretzels who wouldn't?

Lastly, a kid I went to high school with is on The Biggest Loser; he was also on the track team with me and was a pretty decent shotputter. I hope he does well. But here's the thing, another kid who I went to high school with (Sam, who is the biggest sweetheart you'll meet) was on Fat March on ABC... With all of this reality show success, who says a girl from Everett can't get on Survivor, amirite?
