Comic & Sci-Fi Convention This Weekend!!!
This weekend my favorite convention guys (Ben and Mark of the Dallas Comic Con) are hosting an amazing convention this weekend (April 5th-6th) at the Richardson Convention Center. If you've never heard of SciFiExpo or DallasComicCon you've missed out. These guys are SO much better than Creation or anyone else. You get a lot of bang-for-your-buck here, so if you're interested, I highly recommend checking them out this weekend.
It's the Dallas Comic Con 11 and info is here: Dallas Comic Con 11 and SciFi Expo
It's only $10 general admission Sat and $5 Sun! (More money for the dealer room :) )
They have a huge selection of toys, comics, autographs, and everything else you'd expect. I always see a good assortment in the dealer room and they like to bargain :)
Here's the guest list:
Media Guests: Christina Hendricks - Saffron in Firefly Kandyse McClure - Lt. Dualla in Battlestar Galactica Jeremy Bulloch - Boba Fett in Star Wars (Receiving his very own FAN-MADE ESB costume courtesy of The Dented Helmet) Cindy Morgan - Yori in Tron John Wesley Shipp - star of The Flash (Sunday only) James Hampton - Harold Howard In Teen Wolf and more!

Comic Guests: Bob McLeod - NEW MUTANTS Eric Basaldua - WITCHBLADE Joe Benitez - MAGDALENA Tom Morgan - IRON MAN Kerry Gammill - SUPERMAN Brian Denham - NOVA James O'Barr - THE CROW Plus Too Many More Too Mention!

In addition to general admission they also have speedpasses for $20 which gets you in for both days, gets you priority seating at the Q&A's, and gets you in line in front of general admission for most media and comic guests, so if you want to commission a sketch or get autographs fast, a speedpass is a great way to guarantee you'll get one :)
It looks like all comic guests sign your stuff free and media guests charge about $20-$25 to sign stuff. The media guests usually have a good assortment of photos to choose from if you don't have something to bring them.
Check out their website for all the info, but here are more details I scrounged up:

| Darn it, someone read my journal so now it has to get better! |

Classes started again Monday...this semester looks really good :) I'll have to start bringing my lunch again because the idiots in the cafe screwed up my order again! I threw this one in the trash next to the register just like all the others they messed up...I don't pay for lousy service from anyone, I just go hungry :(
So, while I was sitting at a table some guy asked if he could sit down. That area is usually packed which makes it hard to find a seat so I said "sure, whatever". Then I looked up and instantly regretted the statement. Not only was this guy a dirty, cross-eyed, dumb individual (based on the inevitible conversation), but there were seats galore elsewhere! So I just sat their reading my book and he started talking. I ignored him (being very polite considering what was going through my head). Then he starts asking for my name and other things and I finally say, "Look, I said you could sit down, I didn't say I wanted to talk to you." He apologized and left.
I should wear a sign that says "I don't talk to strangers" ;)
Anyway, that's the story of my life today.
Today's lesson: I'm very picky in the people that I associate with and I'm very happy with the fact that I can count my friends on one hand :)
