Summary: During the war, Harry and Severus look for a secret place to relieve their tension.

As the fic is only 530 words long, there is hardly anything I can say about it without spoiling its atmosphere or the general surprise.
So let me just assure you that 530 words was enough to convey all the passion and desperation of the story behind these words, and even more than I needed to fully understand the situation of two (involuntary?) lovers. A truly original and beautifully written piece.

There is not much I can add to Morrighan's wonderful review. I felt sad, sad because the fire is their only place, their only freedom in this world; sad because these encounter would be their only release, their only way to forget, the few moments in their lives not influenced by war and hatred.
A very intense fic.

I *love* this story. Very original idea. It's far too much of pun to say "it's hot" but, y'know... it's hot!

"If You Are Prepared" was... well. Objectively, it was a good story. Severus was characterized really well, and I loved the internal monologue/first person pov. (Harry was done well, too, but not featured as much.)

I just couldn't really give myself to it, you know? 'Cause I knew Harry would die in the end, and I just don't deal well with sad endings. (I'm shallow; so sue me!) It was definitely good, though. I just didn't let myself get swept away by it, since I knew what was coming. :)

Honey, I now *exactly* how you feel. I started IYAP, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. There's a whole big discussion about my inability to handle unhappy endings over at my LJ in this thread .

Well, I did finish it, but not with much enthusiasm. Poor boys! Destined to be separated!! Life just can't be that horrible. :(
