08:45 am - Ten Reasons That I Don't "Fit In" On LiveJournal 1) I don't have an iPod. I haven't even ordered an iPod. I've never even SEEN an iPod. And most importantly I don't give a toss about yours, OR what songs you have on it. Really.
2) I don't have a cat. And I'm bored shitless by yours. It hates you, it simply wants food.
3) I'm not "polyamorous". Be honest, it's just a posh word for "indecisive".
4) I have never played RPGs...And I'm slightly scared of people who do. Sit down, I have something important to tell you...You're not an elf.
5) I don't know what Myers Briggs "type" I am. And I don't give a flying fuck. I'm sure somebody will tell me what that makes me, in initials.
6) I'm not a Pagan. If the idea of a male "God" pisses me off, the idea of being told what to do by "Goddesses" too...Well that would be even worse. Nah, one god is too many, in my opinion, why on Earth go looking for more?
7) I don't "get" fanfic. Making up a story about people who have already been "made up" by someone else just doesn't appeal to me. Nor does chewing someone else's old gum. Of course, I DID write a fanfic about myself...But that was great.
8) I don't have a goatee. And nor does my husband.
9) I've never sold or bought anything on eBay And I don't think I ever will. I'm scared my money will get stolen. And also I've heard that a lot of that stuff is haunted, or caked in old sperm. Well, OK, that second thing was a personal fear, not something I'd actually "heard".
10) I don't hate my job/college course. I'm perfectly happy being a housewife and occasional script writer/comedian. I don't have to endlessly whine about how depressed I am, by a job that is clearly SO CUSHY that I have time to post depressed entries in my LJ every two hours. Lucky me...Or more specifically, lucky YOU.
If you can put up your hand to doing, having or being at least one of these things...You fit in better than I do. If you scored none...I don't believe you.

*looks shifty* Apart from that, it's only the ebay one I have.
Heh. Well, in my defense I consider that big post I made more of a "I'm resolved to quit this and move on to another stage of my life" thing than a "I hate my job" post, but, same difference, I suppose...:)
You didn't mention not being a fur, or attempting suicide on a weekly basis.
I can tick four things on your list, and there are two more I'd like to.

2) I don't have a cat. And I'm bored shitless by yours. It hates you, it simply wants food.
I love you. :)
6 out of 10. I guess now that my goatee is gone I really do stand out!
(Also, you may want to put as a reason the fact that you've never participated in buggery)
Ok, I still fit about HALF of those...
I don't have a cat but I want one! And being Polyamorous is pretty damned tempting right about now! LOL.

Well... I do hate some of my college courses, and I do bitch about them.. other than that nill.
but yeah... what's an ipod?
Well, I can plead guilty to 2, 4, 9 and 10 ... so apparently I'm deeper into the "in" crowd than I imagined.
Wheee ... look at me! I have a peer group!
A sad, pathetic, geeky peer group.

It's nice to see someone's even more out of the LJ mainstream than I. And I'm sure you're comfortable in the knowledge that only those who are truly out of it ever have a chance of being genuinely and originally in, as opposed to being a sycophantic wannabe.

Only 5 out of 10?! How did I fall so far behind?
Nice music choice.
I've fallen victim to number 4 in the past, shucks. You win.
Whew! Thank God I have a cat (although I've never posted pics) I thought I was gonna have to delete my whole journal ;)
It's sad but, oh so true!! Lj is 99% geeks. I need to get rid of my stoopid cat :(~ Oh but, wait then I wouldn't be able to have an Lj.
Ya know it's funny, until I joined Lj I had no idea what polyamory even was!! and I thought Pagan just meant you were a devil worshipper (I was brought up in a fundamental christian home , what can I say?)
7) I don't "get" fanfic" I still don't understand that shit at all.
So maybe I'm only 1% GEEK?! ~smiles~
Yeah iPods are for retards. I have a computer, a CD burner, and a portable CD player, what use I could possibly ever have for an iPod, I'll never know. Come on, what's so bad about my cat? I am also not a pagan, but I on the contrary find the concept of one God to be far too constricting, and I'd like to see him diversify a bit. I also have no goatee because I couldn't grow one if I wanted to :-P
In terms of eBay, just make sure to look at their seller ratings. If you're buying from someone who is selling you a 300 dollar item and has no feedback, you're probably in trouble, but a lot of people on there have hundreds or even thousands of positive feedbacks. It's a great way to find stuff for cheap. In terms of selling I prefer half.com.
Hmm. Someone's feeling cantankerous today.
I'd like to point out that I meet all of your criteria. Though an Ipod, or a cat, or being polyamourous would be cool!
You forgot complaining about money.

Okay, I have been whining about my job lately, but that's because it's not my job, it's someone else's job that they're making me do until she gets back from leave. And it IS horrible. I quite enjoy my regular job.
I've bought things on eBay, but mostly because I'm too lazy to get out of this chair. But yeah, I am guilty of posting about my lame finds as though anyone gives a rat's ass.
I don't have a cat, though. Are you bored shitless by my other furry minions?
having or being one of these things, Apparently on Livejournal I blend. I do know my Myers Briggs type and have purchased items on ebay. Those other eight shortcomings we share.

8) I don't have a goatee. And nor does my husband.
So you shaved the path to your secret garden?
1) No Ipod here, either.
2) 2 cats. They love us because we give them food.
3) Not polyamorous, either. I'm entirely too possessive and insecure to manage more than one relationship at a time...or to see my wife doing the same. I don't know about it being "indecisive," though in some cases I think it's a high-falutin' word to cover up for "horny."
4) Played RPG's since I was a kid. Never thought I was an elf, or any other character I played. Had a helluva lot of fun with the more bizarre ones, though, including an insane vampire who thought she was a banshee.
5) I've taken the test, but I don't recall the letters. The idea that four dimensions could define me is ludicrous. You'd need a string of letters longer than my inseam for that.
6) Not Pagan, either. I was raised Catholic, and I continue to recover from that. Zen's probably the closest I get.
7) I like some of it. I like the characters, and seeing them in different situations can be entertaining.
8) I had a goatee {sort of} once. Me darlin' wife has photographic proof. It was scary. It has not been repeated.
9) No selling/buying/trading on Ebay...yet. I did get a couple things for a rifle off a similar auction site once, and a cane-sword. That's about it. The things I got ranged from roughly acceptable (the cane-sword) to exceeding my hopes (the rifle parts). I still worry about money vanishing or just what might show up on my doorstep, though.
10) I like what I'm doing, too. It's fun, it's interesting, it pays the bills, and it {mostly} keeps me out of trouble.
I guess that makes me fall in roughly the "marginal" range in terms of fitting in with LiveJournal. I think that might have some to do with why I like reading your posts..... ;}

Guilty as charged of #2 (I have 3), #4 (but I don't anymore, does that count?), and #9 (I just love eBay). Partially guilty of #10. I don't hate my job, as a matter of fact, I quite like it. I just don't like some of the people and situations it puts me in contact with.
So 3 1/2 out of 10 ... and here I though I didn't fit in anywhere!
If you don't fit in, then why do you have more friends than any of the rest of us?

Not me. Sometimes I'll fall into #10, but just yesterday my boss informed me they're gonna install TiVo and satellite television in my studio. Fucking sweet!
