Being named "Suede" is bad enough, but being named "Suede" and referring to yourself in 3rd person makes me want to jump through the TV screen and scratch your eyes out.
Both you and tan, obnoxious Seattle boy can go NOW!
Thank you. |

So, a bit of retail therapy for myself at Fry’s this weekend. I hadn’t gone there for a long time (for a reason, it’s a very dangerous place for me)
I went with few things on any official list, but with the idea that I deserved a browse and a few impulse buys…
As I walked in, I saw shopping carts BRIMMING with drastically-reduced (some as low as $7) HD-DVD’s. Now, I did end up buying a PS3, so most of my new movie choices are purchased in the Blu-Ray format, but Steve did buy the HD-DVD add-on to the Xbox before the format officially died and since we had a few movies, I had never thought it necessary to unhook it.
Well, I went ape-s%^&!
I picked up a copy of pretty much every A-list movie that interested me and had been released in the HD DVD format, sometimes for less than what the plain old DVD would cost, including:
Clockwork Orange Full Metal Jacket Goodfellas March of the Penguins Galapagos
…others Ican’t even remember. It will take me a while to re-watch all these great movies, but it’s going to be fun!
I also picked up a 1GB thumb drive for $9 and the latest version of Guitar Hero.
…AND a cute guy who was working there went bonkers over my t-shirt and asked me where I got it!
All in all, a fun day!

I just HATE, HATE, HATE that he died on July 4th.
In his own sick mind he was probably holding on just for that date as he probably considered himself in the same league as Adams and Jefferson.
What a f%@#tard. Glad he's off this earth. I feel sorry for hell. |

So, hours before the George Michael concert, I get a call from a co-worker who's uncle is the CEO of the Sonics..
Would I be interested in sitting in the owners suite for the concert..
1 milisecond later.. HELL YES!!
Steve, Christina, Robyn and I traded in our nose-bleed seats for seats in the suite. It was like upgrading from baggage to 1st class.. Combined with a GREAT concert overall, it just put icing on the cake.. What a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience :)
The lighting and stuff on stage was unbeliveable as well..

| Belated Job News |
[Jun. 19th, 2008|09:19 am] |
|
This is belated because I've been very busy with my new job...
If you will remember, the last time I wrote on this subject, I was kind of smarting from not being offered the supervisor position that was newly created with my department's re-org.
It turns out that it was, in part, a miscommunication. They really didn't think I would want it. I then expressed an official 'interest' in the position.
My direct supervisor wasn't sure about it at first. He and I hadn't worked closely together very much as I was dedicated to one project and pretty much managed myself.
I was told that I should hold tight for a few months and they would revisit the idea... Another blow to the ego....
HOWEVER, within 2 weeks of basically taking on the responsibilities of this new position without the title, they came to me and said. "Yah, you're the right guy for this job. We're sorry to have underestimated you."
BEAM
So, I now am in the wonderful world of middle-management and I haven't been busier or happier in years. If I had hair, it would be getting pointy as we speak.. :)
So, sometimes things work out...
Lesson Learned: If you want something, speak the fuck up! Don't wait for hand outs!

So, I'll admit that I took advantage of what is usually a real pain in the butt... the inability to avoid spoilers on reality shows because I live on the West Coast..
I gave up watching Idol, because I would always forget and that night's outcome name would be in bold letters when I fired up "My Yahoo" and peeked at the Entertainment Headlines.
Last night, however, I went out of my way to check who had won on Top Chef because if it had been what I feared, I would have broken something....
I won't reveal the actual ending for those who recorded it, but suffice it to say, I DID watch it.

Steve was violently ill with a bad migraine headache and resulting nausea last night... He seemed better, but shaky this morning.
Suddenly, I'm noticing a headache that's been slowly building since last night.. I wonder if it's a bug..

So, whoever is in charge out there.. Machi has been sick and now Steve.. we have had our share. Thank you. That is all. |

| Summer? |
[Jun. 9th, 2008|12:30 pm] |
|
Summer seems to have skipped us this year.
Today - Rainy with a high in the low 50's.... same for the foreseeable future... :(
Meanwhile, my mother is roasting back East..
I'll meet you East Coaster's down the middle... you can drop the temps by about 20 degrees if you donate them to the PNW.
Meanwhile, life here is going OK. We had a minor vet emergency last week which has worked itself out... Machi was a bit.. let's say.. "stopped up". She's better now and frisky as ever. In fact, I woke up to her locked in the bathroom, so she must have been naughty during the overnight :)

OK, having just caught up with my TV viewing...

I cannot BELIEVE that that 'See You Next Tuesday" Lisa is going to fracking Puerto Rico!
I would give almost anything to be flown/taken to a location where she was strapped to a chair and I could slap tha smug little nasty "I'm 5 years old and I'm going to pout now" look off her face.
Then I would turn up the heat on her rice... so there!

| Long weekend... |
[May. 27th, 2008|08:36 am] |
The long weekend was a mix of good and bad...
The bad was pretty bad, so I'll focus on the good:
Good ==
Went to see Indy. I found it absolutely delightful. I really don't know what people are expecting from it. Too much hype creates a huge let-down, I guess. It was fun to watch and I enjoyed pretty much every minute. There was action, car-chases, corny dialog and a wholly unbelievable plot.. All the things that made the previous Indy movies fun.. oh.. and the ants..
I went to Archie McPhee to get some presents for a co-worker and some party favours for the party Steve is throwing next weekend. That store has to be one of my favourite places on earth.
The weather was quite nice, despite the forecast for rain and clouds.
I got a lot of relaxing time and tons of Grand Theft Auto thugging in :)
Friday night, I needed to get out of the house (that was the bad, which I won't elaborate on ), and went to Pacific Place and saw "Baby Momma' (It was the only movie left I was interested in, since I had just seen Iron Man and was seeing Indy the next day). It was funny and cute, but predictable. I also stopped into B&N for some new books to keep me occupied :)
