Yesterday was so much fun. Added huge photos that I'm too lazy to resize down, sorry)

You know when it's one of those days where it starts off all positive and then spirals down into "ehhh"? I blame the rain!
So to cheer myself up and for shits and giggles, here's a list with pictures.
sassygirl and

I LOVE living in London, it means I can buy tickets to things like this.
Also tempted to get tickets to
- fellow LJer Roz Kaverny's superheroine presention before a screening of Tank Girl.
- WALL-E preview!
and WILL MOST DEFINITELY be at IMAX screening of Dark Knight, ooo yes, with
superba most likely!
( Popped along to the BFI tonight )

Can't wait for The Dark Knight.... just sayin'!
Oh god my site is such a mess but at least I've done a little update today (finally!) with the S.E Hinton graphic and a few updates in memorabilia and book covers. I have so much more to put on that I haven't done yet, but they'll hopefully be up tomorrow and then I need to rework the whole site design.
You remember the scans journal I had when I used to half heartedly go through periods of scanning and scan random things to go in? Well, it always felt a bit empty so I've decided to start a 365 project as I've had so much fun watching
asphalt_lemony and
snapfish's journals.
I wanted to document this year since my future's a bit unsure at this point, so I'd like to see what happens with work, general interests and things! I love taking photos but struggle with my new camera as I was so used to my old one so this will help me learn more about it.
If you want to see a photo a day for a whole year or some random scans whenever I feel like them, add
sassyscans!
I've already added a photo from last night and tonight!

I really love my laptop but it craps out on me at the most inappropriate times like when I have a day off work and I'm overhauling the site, will it connect to the net, no!
So now I have to wait until the weekend to get it sorted. At least it gives me enough time to do a lot more work in photoshop and dreamweaver.
My drum assessment last night was amazing, I loved the little studio and the people who work there are really nice and friendly. My teacher was nice, sat with me at the beginning and asked a few questions about my deafness, drumming experience and what I wanted to gain.
I got to know the kit again and did some basic beats and then we did fun stuff where we drummed together to songs, using the basic beats and then building on those. UGH, so much more fun than Mr Sudgens class in the music annexe at school! Although the last thing I remember doing before I left drum lessons then was the Batman theme song by Seal. I think I only got half way through that haha.
There were moments when I kept overthinking it too much and my brain would just flub completely, obviously it takes practise and I'm willing to do more.

Aw today was so much fun, I met up with
meivocis,
honeyfitz and
abby_i at Expo.
( If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood )
I loved the chance to catch up with the girls, see some guests, feel old as you are surrounded by kids who like shows you've never heard of and kept squealing and giving each other "freeee hugs!"
I came home and Dad had put up my awesome Turkish Rumble Fish poster that he'd framed for my birthday. ( Now my room feels complete! )
Now I want to watch Ghostbusters, but I can't stop thinking about the Swedish remake in Be Kind, Rewind and keep giggling.

Work's going well lately, I'm making a whole bunch of new contacts and applying for a placement scheme where you can spend a week or two in a different department!
Covering for a PA for the week, I was terrified for Monday and Tuesday but I've sort of got into the habit now, get me, I'm even answering the phone yeaaah. I'm going swimming tomorrow night and got a drum lessons assessment on Friday, wahoo. I'm excited to pick up a pair of drumsticks again, I'm just a little bit nervous and hope that I do okay.
I read someone's post on House finale since I don't watch that show anymore but I didn't expect to see CSI spoilers in the comments, luckily I'd already watched the ep but then there were BONES spoilers and I can't make my eyes unsee them, woe! That'll teach me to look at the post. Maybe I'll have forgotten about it by the time that rolls around?
My granddad's birthday today, he's 86 now. They're all watching the football on the big screen. I took lots of photos and a mini video of him opening a box of balloons my sister sent, it's so cute, a whole family ensemble as mum helped him to open the box but the lid got stuck so dad got the scissors out and then I'm talking to Jack and he thanks Em on camera, bless.
Is there a way to upload a video and only show it to one person, like on youtube or just send it as a wmv file through email?
Oh does anyone know how to rip DVD to put on Youtube, I have to do a few bits and I can't remember how to do it? Any recommended software to use?
Mmm, talking of DVDs, I've ordered Dexter, Pushing Daisies and Flight of the Conchords dvd boxsets. mmmmm TV. I watched a bit of Tin Man but I'm not sure what I think about it yet. So many films I want to see at the cinema, hmm, I might do a double bill one evening!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo CSI :(
I was really happy towards the ending what with the breakfast cafe scenes and the return of Yo!Bling! And then... the ending!
Aw, I still love that show.
Spoilers in comments: do not read if you haven't seen the show!

Courtesy of Neil Gaiman,
how tragically beautiful are these abandoned Russian houses?
Watching last weeks's CSI. Brass's face when Drops said about "sending each other cupcakes on facebook", aw. Awww Brass - "Yippee. We're going to the hood." I love his deadpan delivery.
Nick fails at looking nonchalant.
Drops face at the mini-Britney! Aw I love CSI.
OMG, THIS IS THE MOST ELABORATE CSI EVER, escape through a burger and fridge!
Newer CSI: OMG, the cow in a dress. "I already took photos, Doc." "Not for my personal scrapbook you didn't!" I LOOOOVE Doc and Dave's scenes.
BWAHAH. "She's very shiny". I don't even review eps, I just quote random lines.
OMFG MYTHBUSTERS!
"What gene turned your nose brown?" OH I LOVE THIS SHOW.

( I've had the most wonderful birthday ever! )
So all in all, it's been a lovely birthday spending time with friends and family, getting some really great and thoughtful gifts and I'm totally looking forward to Wicked tomorrow, I just hope that Kerry is in!
nightfive saw her yesterday and said she had a bit of a cough so fingers very tightly crossed. Well even if she isn't in, it'll be a fantastic night out!
Off to swoon over Adrien Brody's sad eyes, pink boxers and long limbs now!

Today was so busy, I had to pack lots of boxes, it was great to sit out at lunch and enjoy the sunshine whilst I had some food and wrote some notes. I even took a few photos of the fountain's statue shining in the sunshine. I would have posted them since I'm trying to take a photo a day and post them sometime but the weather changed as soon as I got on the train home and it started pouring with rain. Dad picked me up so we could go and vote.
We saw the most BEAUTIFUL rainbows ever. I was just gasping as we were heading towards it and finding it brighter and brighter. Yes, there's 8 pics of a rainbow, but how often have you seen one this massive and bright? It's so striking against the ominous cloudy sky and then later this evening we had bright sunshine. ( What a day for the first of May! )

(this is really fractured... I have a lot to say but my mind is all over the place at the moment)
RENT is a musical. It's set in NYC in the early '90s and revolves around a bohemian group of friends as they deal with relationships, homophobia, homelessness, disease, addictions, their work, their dreams and life. It's based on L'Boheme.
Jonathan Larson wrote the musical and died of a aortic aneurysrm, the night before his show premiered. It opened in the Nederland Theatre on 29th April 1996. It became a hit, winning the Pulitzer Prize for drama, winning four Tonys and running on Broadway for years. It's the 7th longest running show on Broadway, it will close this year on 7th September 2008.
I know people say that RENT has dated, what with it's HIV/AIDS references, but as scientists are questioning whether the search for an AIDS vaccine should stop, I find it more relevant than ever.
I just love the show so much, I hate the fact that the UK has had rubbish showings of it with people like CAPRICE AND ADAM RICKETT. I wish we could get Adam and Anthony over here for two nights or something, it'd sell out. Don't even get me started on that "remix" by Kylie's producer.
I looked through my RENT book which is a gorgeous book of photographs of the show, the background, contributions from everyone involved and the script/lyrics. I wanted to share some of it with you.
( so many beautiful talented people brought these characters to life! )
Thank you Jonathan.
How do you measure the life of a woman or a man?
in truths that she learned or in times that he cried,
in bridges he burned or the way that she died?
......
Measure your life in love, seasons of love

Head injuries not thought to be life-threatening. )
I hope he gets better soon! I've always loved him as Nick and some of those BT ads were lovely.

First of all:
you all fail for not letting me know that Being Human has been commissioned haha. Awww, SUPER excited as I loved the pilot so much. Can't believe I didn't find out earlier but I've just been busy helping offices to move. More of it tomorrow, definitely wearing old clothes, ugh.
I had a brilliant time at the weekend, met
superba and we went to a 'films of John Carpenter course', it was great fun and got interesting hand outs to read later on. KURT! <3
I went to visit my uni friends Jo, Eve drove and we met Jo in her gorgeous new flat with her 9 week old puppy. I melted at the sight of her, she is ADORABLE.
( meet Jess )
I met Lauren tonight and we had a gorgeous thai dinner which was a lovely way to wind down from work. We're going shopping next week, woo!
Came home and watched a few bits on telly, How I Met Your Mother has stopped being broadcast with subtitles and I couldn't get it to work with Bones either so I shall have to get my dad to check the Sky+ box out, hmm. ( Watched Family Guy instead and even Stewie can't resist Gene! )
I love that they kept Jerry's shadow though haha.
Saving some awesome Matthew Lillard photos and going to do a lot of website work over the weekend, hurrah.
