One shouldn't draw hearts after Denis Leary's name. It's wrong.

Denis Leary! ♥ But, um, no Rescue Me this summer? I'm supposed to entertain myself how?

And Stephen made a M*A*S*H joke! Is he forgetting who his demographic is or something? (The running tally of M*A*S*H references made by Stephen is now at three.) My mother looked at me and said, "If you two ever had a conversation, he'd be all, 'I found my soulmate!'"

That's the second M*A*S*H reference I've run into in two days. I think I'm going to have to watch some M*A*S*H.

I'm sorry, is my Keithlove showing?

Just for the hell of it, I decided to scroll through the rest of the comments on Keith Olbermann's diary. And, um.

I recommend this thread for the lolz.

I am somewhere between greatly amused and vaguely horrified. Daily Kos isn't fandom, but them there are fangirls in that thread, and I just want to grab Keith by the shoulders and say, "Don't do it, man! Do not encourage the fangirls who speak of cults and orgies!"

Then I realize that he's the size of four of me, so the shoulder-grabbing wouldn't work without a stepladder.

I just -- out of all the threads, why respond to that one?

Maybe he's jealous of Bill O's loofah?

Tonight's mission is to remind me that I love politicians and pundits.

I am on fire tonight. My boring day of doing nothing but checking CNN and DailyKos led me not just to the Edwards endorsement, but to Keith doing a Special Comment.

The Special Comment was as always spot-on and so eloquent, but his response here is just...yeah. For those not inclined to click, someone asked if tonight was the best night for a Special Comment, and KO said:

Big tent theory.

Plenty of room for Senator Edwards' Special Comment and my own. I have no problem being runner-up to him. Nor third to he and Elizabeth.

It was the bit about Elizabeth that sealed the deal. LOVE.

YOU GUYS. JOHN EDWARDS IS SO AWESOME HE GETS A SECOND POST AND YOU CAN JUST DEAL WITH IT, OKAY?

DID YOU SEE THAT? "I WAS PROMISED A JET SKI." OH, GOD, I LOVE YOU.

I was a little sad Obama dropped the ball and didn't say, "It's in the mail," or something, but! "I FORGOT HOW GOOD HE IS."

OH HI, POLITICAL SLASH. I HAVE MISSED YOU.

This is the third fucking time today they've played this Miley Cyrus song. I take back anything positive I may have said about it earlier.

On the plus side, they said something about Metro Station coming up, so we'll see.

Because smells make me spastic anymore.

Um. Why the hell does my house smell like someone just lit a rice cake on fire?

EDIT: So, I went to investigate the rice cake fire. It was popcorn. I thought I'd have some rice pudding, but I opened the package and the pudding was all liquid, no rice. I gagged that down and poured myself some pomegranate grape juice to take back upstairs, and tripped and spilled it all over the steps. I got some more. I made it to my room, my room with white carpet. I set the glass down on a little table. Rocko, the giant stuffed baboon that I inherited from my grandmother, just fell from his perch and knocked the the glass over. OKAY, TUESDAY, YOU WIN.

long live the car crash hearts (so what I lied)

I was trying to procrastinate on my [info]lgbtfest fic by finishing up my Playing by Heart fanmix, but I got diverted by Hawksley Workman's "Little Tragedies," and now I'm soundtracking my Jon/Gillian fic.

They're a Fall Out Boy album. Holy shit, they are a Fall Out Boy album. I wish I could tell you what I mean by that, but I can't articulate it to save my life. I can tell you that it starts with "She's a" and ends with "but he's an S.O.B."

Also, I have a love/hate relationship with "Dark Come Soon" by Tegan & Sara. I hate almost all of the song, but I can't stop listening to the part that goes, "So what? (Come on, come on.) I lied, I lie to me, too." Exactly, guys. Exactly. And then you had to go and make it catchy in the middle of a crap-ass song? Thanks heaps for that.

Know what I'm going to do? Sit here and sing other catchy Tegan & Sara songs until I get that one out of my head.

...or maybe I'll surrender and just keep listening to that. Dammit.

But maybe we'll get the finished poster soon.

Hey, didn't I just see this trailer at Comic Con? (Well, with a different ending. That I kind of liked better because it gave me the chills. But, you know, it's not bad.)

At least we can download it in HD from the IGN site. That's cool.

Edit: I'm not trying to harsh your squee or say that the trailer was bad. I'm just saying that I'm a little underwhelmed. And anything I try to say after that comes out bitchy because I've already had half the universe jump down my throat and I'm also expecting massive wank all over the XFN comments tomorrow, and I'm going to be the one dealing with that if [info]da_think's computer problems persist. I'm just glad I'm not a mod at Haven.

Edit: If you have a Digg account, c'mon: Digg the trailer.

Edit: And if you care, the Mulder web ad has 8,186 views and the Scully one has 7,866.

LGBT Fest and XFN

01. My [info]lgbtfest fic is now due June 1. I bet you all can't wait for another twenty days of my bitching and moaning and plotting! Seriously, though, I would have been happy with just a week or five days, but now I have the opportunity to make this both long and relatively good.

02. I'm really not comfortable writing stories as opposed to vignettes, especially not stories where I have so. damn. much. to balance. Jon and Stephen's relationship is difficult enough without adding issues of both gender (Jon's) and sexuality (Stephen's)to it. I think part of the reason I'm having problems right now is that I cannot for the life of me figure out why Jon likes Stephen.

03. Eight hours until the trailer! I'm really not expecting much, but it's still big news, and I like big news, especially when I get to post about it. I'd just like it better if Fox could just do big news at a nice sane hour, like 1:00 in the afternoon. (And, man, I'm going to be shocked if we don't break IGN.)

04. For those playing along at home, the Mulder ad video has 6,353 views and the Scully ad video has 6,153. That's up about six hundred each since two hours ago. They are fifth and sixth respectively for today's most favorited videos in their category.

Random XF2 promotion thoughts.

01. The people commenting on the web ads without reading the Frank Spotnitz quote make me want to go postal.

02. But watching the stats on the YouTube uploads is a lot of fun. Earlier today, the Mulder ad had 1786 views to the Scully ad's 2456. I checked three hours later, and both had gone up by 500 views. Now the Mulder ad is at 3833 and the Scully ad is at 3890, and I know there are more copies floating around on YouTube. Fox is going to have to make a concentrated effort if they want this movie to tank.

03. I'm sure they'll step up the effort either tomorrow or first thing Monday by having the videos yanked from YouTube. Now, I can almost wrap my brain around yanking the con trailers, but yanking the ads will be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. They are ads. One typically has to pay to place an ad somewhere. Fans are circulating these ads to thousands of people for free. Fox should be doing a God damn tap dance. "Free stuff, free stuff, yay, free stuff! We've got a low budget and we're getting advertising for free, yipee skippy!" Seriously, guys. The sane folks in the PR/ad department need to talk with the idiots in the legal department and say, "Let this one go."

04. Less than 24 hours until the trailer! (Want to bet the ads don't get yanked from YouTube until after the trailer premieres?) I'm excited. Though someone at the official site needs to brush up on their JavaScript, because there's really no reason that countdown can't change depending on the user's time zone.

Improv ftw?

THIS makes me so HAPPY!

My first thought upon seeing the web ads was that they reminded me of an episode of M*A*S*H, which I believe was called "The Interview." (I might have the wrong episode. I'm a little rusty and there are more than 250 of them.) But, anyway, there was a reporter who asked the characters questions, but there was no script -- the actors had to come up with the in-character answers. And, oh, I am so glad that my instincts do not fail me! And kudos to whoever found the article to prove this.

In other news, [info]da_think fixed the site. It apparently had something to do with the ads. Which, yay, not my fault. Except for the part where I have no idea how that could have happened, and I'd almost rather it be my fault so I could make sure never to do it again.

EDIT: More downloads for the ads. MediaFire Scully MP4 (iPod G5) and MediaFire Mulder MP4 (iPod G5).

I'm starting to think VVSP was a cakewalk.

I'm seriously going to kick the shit out of XFN. It's been having major issues for about ten hours now. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS DO THIS WHEN THERE IS NEWS? Seriously, if the site crashes at 3:01 EDT on Monday, I will know this is a conspiracy.

Despite my better judgment (and the email I sent [info]da_think), I tried to fix it. On the plus side, I didn't break it more. On the down side, I didn't fix it, either, and it's just too damn late at night/early in the morning for me to get any more involved in the problem than I already am.

I still feel like shit by the way. Backache. Cramps. XFN-induced headache. And then just this general feeling of...bleh, you know? My brain is fuzzy. Between feeling like hell and the X-Files news, I did not get to touch my [info]lgbtfest fic tonight, nor did I get to work on the countdown widget.

Tomorrow, I will suck it up and ask for an extension on my [info]lgbtfest fic assignment. (Man, I should have gone with the Reyes prompt. That would have been so much shorter.) It's like, well, it's due Tuesday. I can't possibly finish it tomorrow night unless I get on a streak worthy of the last day of NaNoWriMo, and even then, it would need massive re-writing before it became available to the public. Sunday-into-Monday is out, too, given the fact that the trailer launches then, and who knows what fresh technical hell XFN will cook up when that happens.

Okay, it is time for me to curl up with my heating pad. I'll see you in, oh, twelve hours.

Potentially spoiler-y ads for XF2: Scully ad and Mulder ad.

Direct linking to ads is really terribly embarrassing, so when you click those links, you'll have to change hxxp back to http. I'm trying to save face just a little.

EDIT: I've converted them to AVI files -- [info]syko4bosco, VisualHub owns my life -- and uploaded them to MediaFire. Scully AVI and Mulder AVI. You can stream the ads at XFN until YouTube yanks them. Will have mirrors of the AVI files up shortly.

EDIT 2: hxxp to http for these, too, kids: MegaUpload Scully and MegaUpload Mulder. Sendspace Scully and Sendspace Mulder. FEEL FREE TO SPREAD THESE LINKS AROUND LIKE MAD.

XFN Exclusive: XF2 Trailer to Premiere Monday!

IGN.COM TO PREMIERE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE TRAILER THIS MONDAY.

On the good side, that means it's not going to cost eight bucks to go see a trailer. On the down side, this is somewhat anticlimactic, since we've been watching trailers online since Wonder Con.

In other news, I feel like shit, so I think I'm going to take a nap.
