3:28PM - This from a man who would be President?

I am done with finals now and the biggest point of stress in my life this afternoon is this: why won't Rudy Giuliani accept my myspace friend request?

Asshole.

I have a love/hate relationship with the law of corporations.  On one hand, it's fun because I get to use the word "duty" a lot, which makes me giggle.  I suppose that's not the only reason I like it, but surely it's the best.  On the other hand,  so much of it seems useless.  Creditors had to take some guy and his companies to court so that the judge could tell him that it's a bad idea to shift money around between the corporations hoping to hide from his debts.

Really?  I mean... someone had to sit down to write an opinion explaining to this guy about why it's a good idea to pay the people who provided his companies with goods and services.  His best argument against it was, "I can't.  I took out all the money, put it into another account, and now you can't have it."

I should be allowed to kick more people in the face.

Should I see The Da Vinci Code?

I tried to read the book and couldn't finish it because the author's style made me want to flagellate myself; however, the movie is making fundies angry. I want to support angry fundies. What should I do?

1. I just set the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to songs from the Sound of Music. I have officially lost "it." Really, it's my professor's fault. This is what happens when we're not allowed to bring anything into the exam room with us. I hope everyone else likes musicals.

2. This summer I'm staying in Vermont. I'll be working for Bernie! and taking classes. I'm taking Non-Profit Management, Animal Rights, Comparative International Environmental Law, and a class on Bio-tech Ethics. If anybody is planning on being in the area, give me a call. I get my life back on Friday and I miss you guys.

3. I watched a show where some guy talked to Kirk Cameron about Intelligent Design and the banana. (I'm sure most of you have seen it too.) His theory was that god exists because he made bananas perfectly shaped for our hands. Banana peels are designed to fit our thumbs so that we can open them easily. My only question: why doesn't god want us to enjoy the coconut? Perhaps the coconut was actually the fruit on the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve didn't want to eat the fruit, she just wanted to make herself a boss coconut bra. Adam didn't anger god by eating the coconut, he tried on Eve's bra. It was the cross-dressing that actually caused the fall of man.

12:00AM - it's no pants day. take them off, bitches!

in other news, i quoted galbraith today in my con law exam. i figure that's like the law school equivalent of pouring a little on the curb for my fallen homie. also, there is exactly one week left until i get my life back for the summer:)

Boo. The Titans just drafted a drooling mouth-breather. I really hope Vince Young isn't going to be a grandstanding idiot. We didn't used to give those kinds of guys the time of day but with Pacman last year and McNair becoming increasingly diva-y, it seems to be the new trend. Also, Young's suit offended my eyes. I hope Bud Adams knows what he's doing.

Jay Cutler just went to Denver. I don't really like him, but the kid's got a cannon for an arm. Maybe he'll be the next John Elway?

1. At this point in my life, I would not be very good at arguing in front of the Supreme Court. I just wrote a really bitchy brief about the Commerce Clause citing only to inconsistencies within the jurisprudential logic of Justices Thomas, Rehnquist, and Scalia. I'm not sure, but I don't think the "Scalia's a ship-jumping moralist," method of argument plays well with the Court.

2. I am out of "Go". I'm not unhappy and I'm not particularly stressed about it, I just don't really care anymore. Whatever the chemical is that normally makes me excited to learn about property rights, the First Amendment, and felony murder needs a refill. It' s helping in my Con Law class though. I've been able to sit through and participate in three classes on religion without invoking the phrase, "Stupid fucking idea." One alarming side-effect - the other day, I agreed with Scalia and didn't feel dirty about it later.

3. It's finally springtime here and I've started running again. The sidewalks don't go very far (since the town is only about half a mile wide) and the roads were torn apart by the constant freezing/unfreezing of winter. Pothole 1, Sarah 0. I'll keep you posted.

1. sba elections are going on right now and they're hilarious. one of the presidential candidates is taking the "if you don't elect me, bad things will happen" page out of dick cheney's playbook. for some reason, i don't think that's going to play well here...

2. i hate oral arguments. can i just smile pretty and dance for the judge instead? i think the results would be the same.

3. i can't think of anything else. i don't really have time to eat, sleep, or breathe. i'll be glad when this semester is over.

1. kansas screwed me over. kansas always screws me over. why do i keep picking kansas to do well in my brackets? i think the soft spot i have in my heart for kansas basketball is somehow linked to a corresponding soft spot in my brain. i blame cara.

2. a third year student just sent the entire law school an email suggesting that we should spend less time discussing our non-discrimination policy/what it means after the recent supreme court decision, and more time worrying about the bar exam. yeah, i don't see that going over well.

3. i'm supposed to be revising a paper. i hate the drafting process. i wrote the paper, now give me a grade on it. i don't want suggestions, i don't want to write it again, i just want you to grade my work so i can be done with it. there will be future papers in which i will be able to demonstrate miraculous improvement. actually, i don't mean any of that. i'm just putting it off because i hate statutory analysis. maybe i can pay clarence thomas to do it for me?

4:50PM

It's Thursday afternoon and I am:
-eating home-made guacamole
-drinking cheap Mexican beer
-watching the Democrats in the House of Representatives argue with each other using colorful/useless charts
-not wearing a bra.

Could my afternoon get any better?

1.  today hannah (that's my car) and i drove around vermont/new hampshire.  we're in the middle of a snowstorm and  i'm trying to teach myself how to drive well in the snow.  i  think it comes down to understanding two key things: vectors and friction.  hannah and i did fine but some of the other idiots out there should be shot.  we missed a 20 car pile up between white river junction, vermont and west lebanon, new hampshire by 30 seconds.  i ended up steering into the empty lane next to me and stopping about 5 feet from a car situated perpendicular to the rest of the highway with its nose against the median wall.  the driver looked panicked, so i smiled and waved at him.

2.   cold fund-raiser or special olympian?  you decide.

3.  south dakota sucks.
