12:16 pm - OMG new baby
|
My sister Anne just had another baby a couple days ago.
Her name is Mariah, and she is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute that cute doesn't even begin to cover it. She's really sleepy so far and makes cute cooing noises as well.
She actually looks a LOT like my neice Brooke at that age except Mariah is the first one born with black hair.
Also, work related question. What's a reasonable babysitting fee system for non relatives?

11:47 pm - Can Anybody Help Me?
|
I couldn’t find any DW or TW fic search communities, so I was hoping that someone on my friends list could help me out.
Thanks in advance.
- Are there any fanfics with Jack’s coat/Ianto’s suit as a pairing? With the clothes thoughts or something like that? A friend and I are wondering if this pairing exists ever since the episode “Fragments” of TW. If this hasn’t been done would anyone like to write it? - Also, are there any Ianto/Jack’s coat or Jack/Ianto’s suit fics? - Any really good Jack/The-Doctor’s-severed-hand fics. - Doctor/Jack, Doctor/Master, Jack/Ianto, or Doctor/Jack/Ianto fics when one or all of the characters become female (eg. Alien artifact, regeneration).
Warning: Spoilers for Season 4 of Doctor Who in comments.

1:10 pm - I'm drowning in Britishness.
|
I got Sweeney Todd and Fortysomething on DVD last week. I'm sure everyone knows about Sweeney Todd already because every Johnny Depp fan talked about it and we are large in number. Still... SQUEEEEEEE I finally own that crazy assed messed up musical of win.
Also I bought Fortysomething because Hugh Laurie is the main actor, it sounded good, and Stephen Fry makes an appearance. It's even better than I thought it would be. It's hilarious and odd. I don't even know how to describe it.
I got Blackpool in the mail yesterday. It's a bizarre-darkly funny-camp-semi-musical miniseries. David Tennant (the Doctor in Doctor Who), David Morrissey, and Sarah Parish are in it. I've already watched all of it. I've been waiting to get it for a few weeks because I bought it on ebay from Austrailia.
Here's a clip (not mine) of David Tennant in it with David Morrissey. They're threatening eachother and dancing and singing to "These Boots are Made for Walking":
Also here's an awesome vid that someone made lately using Doctor Who clips and the song "One Day More" from the musical Les Miserables.
BBC America has put up the audio commentary for Doctor Who Season 3 episode "Last of the Timelords" to be downloaded. It's the audiocommentary that didn't get on the US or Canada DVDs. It has David Tennant, John Barrowman, and Freema on it. It's so awesome, I already downloaded it. They're hilarious together.

I got sick last week. It's really nasty. Basically all the crap a cold can put you for and some weird extras. My throat closed up half way through swallowing a tiny piece of carrot the second day I was sick. It made me throw up all my lunch. I lived in fear that I had the flu for a day and a half after that, but it's just a cold.
I'll spare you all the rest of the gory details.
Suffice to say it was bad enough that my mom gave up on the herbal remedies and bought me penicillan.
I also ended up writing a 7 page essay on "An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge" (which I love so at last that's not too bad) with a fever of 100 degrees.
OMG that has a potential of turning out reeeeeeally weird.
I'm trying to keep up with school, but I'll have a lot of tests to make up. That's what I get for taking 17 units and having a crap immune system.
I'm goint to do another update in a little while that's more fandom related.

8:35 am - I really need a Doctor Who David Tennant icon.
|
Hello, sorry I've been gone for so long. I only have time for a short post.
I saw Sweeney Todd finally last week when it reached where I live. OMG I almost burst into tears in the theatre at the end, it was so good. My boyfriend was there and I didn't want to cry in front of him, though. Everything about it was perfect to me.
British television is once again taking over my brain. I am in love with Life on Mars. I ordered the series and got it recently. It is further proof that John Simm is made of awesome.
I also started watching the show Takin' Over the Asylum on youtube. David Tennant is around 22 years old in it and is totally adorable. He plays a manic depressive aka bipolar teenager in a mental institution called Campbell. He just found out recently in the show that his parents aren't going to help him with money when he leaves. They treat him like he's mad and are dissapointed in him.
He pretends to have a manic episode so they'll think he's not ready to leave yet in this scene. He's amazingly good in this show. Of course what actor is better fitted to play an adorable manic patient? Unfortunately, it's not on DVD.
I found this petition to get the show on DVD. If you want to see David Tennant as an adorable "singing lunatic" please sign the petition.

I'm at a Junior College full time for a while now, so I haven't had much time to update. Philosophy was cancelled, so I'm updating from school now.
I've become addicted to the new version of Doctor Who. Christopher Eccleson (9th Doctor), David Tennant (10th Doctor), Billie Piper (Rose), and John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness) are all brilliant in it.
I immediately liked both the actors that played the Doctor (Christopher and David), and I recognised hem both from other things. Eccleson was in Shallow Grave with Ewan McGregor, and Tenant was in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Barty Crouch Jr. I also own the film Bright Young Things (written and directed by Stephen Fry) which Tennant is also in.
John Barrowman has steadily grown on my since the first season. I watch Torchwood too, but it was seeing Putting it Together that completely won me over. It's a musical that he was brilliant in. I ordered it and two of his solo albums from amazon.com after that. Doesn't hurt that he's cute, too.
I like more musicals now as well. Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and the film Across the Universe are totally brilliant.
The band Scissor Sisters are awesome and it's really cool that the song "I Can't Decide" is played in Doctor Who by The Master. Unfortunately, I can only watch this on youtube, until I get my preordered Doctor Who third series. The American version that was aired cut it out.
They also cut out the cute/sad moment where The Doctor said "I know what it's like. It's like when you really fancy someone and they don't even know you exist." Then Martha looks like she feels like that about the Doctor (which she does). The part that is cut is where Captain Jack Harkness said to her "you too?" Which just proves what the fans always knew. Jack loves the Doctor. Big part of why he kept his hand and the 3D glasses. (The 3d glasses can only be sentimental).
Does anyone know if that cut moment is on youtube? I need to see it eventually. The wait is killing me. I heard about it from someone else.
I also want to see the 8th doctor's regeneration film. I like the actor and it sounds neat. Unfortunately, it's not in the US. Life on Mars which I wanted to see, but was only on when I was at school has also not been released here yet. Now that I've seen John Simm as the Master I REALLY want to see it.
I've also watched the first 2 seasons of Red Dwarf. Two of my friends and I are now addicted.
I'm also extreamly glad that the previews for Sweeny Todd are out. YEEEEEEEEEEES! I feel like I've been waiting forever.
Now that I've realized that the main writer and producer of Doctor Who are gay and so is John Barrowman I have to ask this. Wow. How did I not realize until aftre I bought the first two seasons. It's awesome, but I can't believe I still get surprised. Everything I like has some of the gay.

8:08 pm - Help the musical fix! *shakes donation can*
|
|
Well I’ve been on this musicals high lately. If you haven’t noticed from my last post. I noticed a lot of people loved the musical Wicked. I started downloading music from it to find out why everyone loved it. Here’s a summary of the Broadway musical Wicked’s plot. I only have time to upload one of the songs. It’s my favorite and it’s absolutely amazing. “No Good Deed” I’m having trouble downloading the song “I’m Not That Girl (reprise).” If anyone can upload that for me I’d be very grateful. Edit: Got it! Thanks radiogaga3 Thanks in advance. Here’s an awesome song from the operetta Bitter Sweet by Noel Coward. It’s called “We All Wear a Green Carnation.” The title is based upon the fact that for a period of time wearing a green carnation was a symbol of being gay like the rainbow flag now. This is because Oscar Wilde famously wore green carnations during that period. Any anglophile slasher should love this song. A nice person at sent "We All Where a Green Carnation" to me here, where they also made a brilliant music video of it with footage of the Jeeves and Wooster series.

1:41 pm - Bigass Update
|
I finally found time to post again.
Prom was a while ago. I went with Michael. I wore a really nice red dress, and he looked really handsome in a nice tux. He got me a beautiful corsage that I wore around my wrist all night. We went to an Italian place to eat first, and his friend Chase was there, and later so was Rena. They both went to prom. There was an accidental funny moment later when we saw Nick saying something to us when the windows were rolled up when we got there. We thought he was joking around saying, “I hate you Michael”, but it turned out he said, “I’m proud of you Michael.” lolzMost of my friends in my year were there, and the food table had a chocolate fountain and multicolored drinks. My only big problems with the dance were the seating was a little crowded, it was LOUD, and almost all the music was country and rap. This caused Michael and I to do goofy fake rap dancing. We also got involved in a 5 person dance, while hitting a balloon to each other, weird game.
Senior Awards Night was some time last week. I noticed only two guys got scholarships that weren’t military related. I also want to kick the military’s ass because 3 guys I know are going into the military. 2 of them are going to be marines. Why not just kill yourselves now and save them the trouble you morons! Anyways I got 600 $ worth of scholarships. I would have 2,100 $ worth, but I can’t except that one because it’s only for students who attend a certain college which I will not attend yet because of expenses and transportation. However, because of grad present money from my large family I can afford college this year at the nearby JC easily.
Graduation was dull, but it wasn’t as hot as the rehearsal which was OMG a Nightmare! We all begged Mr. Schaut, my fave teacher, to spray us with a hose, but he wouldn’t. My aunt Shirley was super slow so she never made it to the graduation, but my GREAT AUNT made it before her with my cousin Mariana. WTF? How slow can Shirley? I think she did it on purpose. She arrived just in time to be lazy at my house. It was great seeing my cousins, nieces, nephew, and siblings, though. The kids are made of adorable.
The only downside to the visiting is my sister gave me another version of the bible as a gift…. Again. Am I allowed to kill her? PLEEEEEEEASE?! This must be the 1billionth time she’s given me something religious since she went psycho Christian, and I can’t tell her I’m atheist because then she’ll get worse and try to convert me. I still remember this conversation: Anne: “Sara, do you know what’s the only religion that hasn’t ever harmed anyone?” Sara: “Off the top of my head… Buddhism.” Anne: “NO! Christianity!” Sara: “Really? What do you call the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, the KKK, the Holy War, the” Anne: “Those people weren’t real Christians.” Sara: O.o She’s off her nut, that one.
Sober Grad: The weirdest thing happened before I left for sober grad. I thought one of the cats was getting into the cat food bag again, so I was starting to walk over there when I noticed 3 weird things. The cat that usually getting into the food looked freaked out and was staring at the bag. The thing in the bag made a weird hiss/hack/spit sound and I saw a huge rat like tail after the sound. It was an OPOSSUM! Well, John scared it out of the garage (which is where is was since it had been left open.). My mom dropped me off at sober grad. At the country club. It was around 9:40 P.M. There was a heated pool, a guy in a pirate outfit making balloon things (I got a balloon rainbow. It was awesome. lol), a free photo booth, prizes, pizza, ice-cream, and inflatable games areas. I did silly photo booth stuff with my friends and some props. That’s probably the best party I’ve ever been to. My prizes were 50$, a coffee grinder, and star bucks supplies.
College: I have one summer college class. I had the first lesson today. It’s history, but the teacher is nice and interesting. He said we don’t have to write papers or take quizzes. That means the only really hard parts will be the midterm and final! YAY! Today’s also the first time I drove a large amount or very far.

I forgot to mention that A Midsummer Night’s Dream went really well. I didn’t botch up my lines or actions. I can also honestly say that almost everyone acted well. That’s rare in a large high school production. Especially with how bad the rehearsals were. Now, because of the new Nazi regime known as the “Warriors for Innocence” (WTF?) I think I might need to back up my journal and community. Can anyone explain how I can do this?
