Seriously, Creepy Security Guard, back the hell up and leave me the f*ck alone. You're creepy.

Also, stupid CyberMom on the computers at work? I'm an adult. I can say the word f*ck.

GUESS WHAT GUYS?!?! I gots another raise. I've been moved up to a 2pm-11pm shift, so I get an extra .50 an hour! I get Sundays and Thursdays off, so I can go to the Stitch'n'Bitch! I sooo excited! This is my second raise since I've been there, less than five months!

I'm getting a new car, too! Dunno what kind yet, but right now it's between a Suzuki Grand Vitara or a Ford Escape. Both are LOADED! Both have sunroofs. Awesome blossom!

I was almost moved out of my parents house, too, but a 1 year lease was just waaay too much, especially with no way to break it.  I was gonna be sharing it with two of my friends, but that fell through. But now that I'm getting a car, I can get a little flat all on my own. That'll be a while away, though. Probably not until after the first of the year.

I'm still seeing my dietician. I've only lost one pound so far, which sucks. Oh well.

Anyways...I think I'm gonna swing by the post office and see if any of my packages have arrived (YAY BENTO!) and then go visit my greatgramma. And I need to stop at the bank too. They still haven't sent me my new debit card, the bastards.

What's the point? My life is going no where. I don't make enough money to leave my parents' house, my mom decided to be a chicken and not leave my dad.
I sit in this house and do nothing. I can't stop throwing up. Just breathing through my mouth makes me gag. I either can't sleep or sleep too much. I missed four days of work last week because I was sick and then yesterday and today I didn't go in because I still don't know what's going on.

There isn't any point anymore.

I wasn't able to go to sleep a while ago, so I tried to stay up, but now the anti-nausea meds the doc gave me have kicked in and they're making me drowsy, so I'm hitting the hay. I can't hardly keep my eyes open anymore.

Finished Kristy's Cloche!

Yep, I finished it! It looks awesome. I hope she'll like it. I gave my cloche to my mum and I'm going to make me another one, a bit bigger. I'm also going to make a scarf for my mum with the same colours as my Pitch-Black Pink Punk Purse. I'm thinking maybe I'll do cables for this one. My brother also wants a pink and black hat. Yeah.

I made it to the SnB tonight! Woot. It was fun. Afterwards, a group of us walked down to Bancock Cafe and had some pretty yummy Pad Thai and crazy Nick stories. Very awesome time.

I worked on the PBPPP at the SnB and I've gotten pretty far with it. Just a bit more, I think, and I'll be finished. The rows are all uneven, but I don't give a flying hoot. It looks awesome.

I went to the doctor today. He took some blood and'll get back to me. Not a lot of help *shrugs* Did give me some type of medicine for my nausea, but I wasn't in there for more than ten minutes. Very first thing he asked me was "So, when are you going to loose weight?" *rolls eyes*

I think I may make a few more cloches and try to sell them around work. People seem to like them.

I really want to try and make a shrug. Yarn gonna be expensive, yo. Or maybe a skirt, but not for me. Maybe for my mum or a friend. I dunno yet, but I like circular knitting :D

I'm awful tired, so this is going to be a short post. Night y'all.

Ugh sick

Yeah, I'm sick. Left work early on Sunday because I started horking. Didn't go in at all yesterday, and then I was there for about an hour and a half before I almost knocked someone over trying to get to the bathroom to toss my cookies.

I've had an interesting week. Friday Aleesha (my cubicle mate) and I went to Olive Garden. Very yummy. We got the Berry Sorbet and the Black Tie Mousse Cheesecake and put the berries on the cake and it was amazing. Then we went to Hot Topic and got some dye for my hair. I have before, bleached, and then after pics:
Before: I like my natural hair colour, but sometimes it's just too plain. So, I decided to fire it up. :D

Bleached: We had to bleach the hell out of it.
Actually, I was surprised at how fast it was. We used RAW White-Out Beyond Bleach. I'm actually really amazed at how awesome my bleached hair looks. I almost didn't want to dye over it.

After: For the dyeing part, we used RAW Fire Red Demi Permanent Hair Color and RAW Bright Orange Demi Permanent Hair Color and mixed them together in a bowl. 2 parts red, 3 parts orange. It's already washed out some, but I like it.

And now to knitting!
I've started on another cloche, this time for my supervisor, Kristy. It's Lamb's Pride Bulky (as if I use anything else) in Limeade. Very pretty colour. Behold Kristy's Lovely Limey Cloche:

I bought some new needles the other day at Stringtown. They're really nice ChiaoGoo Bamboo circulars, US10s. I transfered my Pitch-Black Pink Punk Purse onto them.

The only problem is my stitches are really tight and they won't go from the cable onto the needle. I'll just have to make them go. Mwhaahaaha.

I'll be attending this week's SnB at Stringtown, and hopefully the WWKIP Day as well on Saturday, if I'm feeling better.

For more knitting pictures, feel free to stop by my Knit Flickr.

Yes, another new project

I know, I know. I frogged the Turtleneck Scarf for now. Maybe I'll figure it out in a while. Right now I'm making a purse with some pink and onyx Lamb's Pride. Very awesome, indeed. I call it the Pitch-Black Pink Punk Purse.

I knit the base as a flat piece and then picked up stitches all around and knitted up in circular. It's turning out very neat. I really like the pink and black pattern on the wrong/purl side, but the whole thing just looks better on the right/knit side.

It's going to be felted at the end, so I dunno which side I'm going to choose. I think I may line the inside of it and use it as a knit purse. Right now I'm using a reusable Walmart bag as my knit bag. I really love those things.

I had to completely reformat my computer just a little while ago. Complete factory default reset. I hate my brother. I'm still redownloading my programs. I'm just glad I thought to take picture to occupy my time while waiting for the stupid thing to finish.

I'm really tired right now. I have to finish the dishes before I'm allowed to go to bed, though. Stupid parents. That includes all of the party dishes from their stupid party the other night.

I should probably put my Cherry Garcia back in the freezer, too. It's melting. Oh well.

One last thing before I head out. I'm going
to try to attend the Worldwide Knit In Public Day! on June 14th at Sweet Bay Coffee with the other Stringtown SnB'ers

Course, no one's reading this.

New project

Woot! I started a new project last night. It's going to be very awesome, indeed. It's a turtleneck scarf. It's like the neck of a turtleneck sweater, but just the neck part. It's one circular piece that you just pull over your head and keep on your neck.

No more wrapping a scarf and almost choking yourself when you accidentally step on the hanging end. No, I haven't done that before.

It will be flared out at the top and bottom and the middle part is going to have a cabled pattern on it. Very awesome. Indeed.

My supervisor loved my cloche and now she wants me to make one for her. I've got to get some green Lamb's Pride sometime this week at Stringtown so I can get to it. I'm also thinking about making some more hats and trying to sell them.

I've picked out the colour ribbon I want for my cloche. I thought silver, but the vote was unanamous on TQC for the plum colour of my glasses. It's close, anyway. The picture doesn't quite captre the colour of my glasses, nor the ribbon. It's a pretty good match, though. I think I'm going to have my mum sew it on with her sewing machine since I wasn't smart enough to make eyelets in the hat to put the ribbon through.

Anyway, I'm thinking of making a few hats to sell. Maybe a white one with blue ribbon or black ribbon. Possibly a pink one with black and pink polka dotted ribbon. I dunno yet.

It's time for this girl to do the dishes and get in bed. I have work tomorrow. Woohoo! I get paid double time for the holiday. 17$ an hour, baby!

I just finished Roxy's Foxy Cloche! It's awesome.

I can't wait until it's dry so I can put some silver ribbon around it and maybe attach some sort of decorative pin to it. Any suggestions, folks?

I think I've about killed my left pointer finger from all the knitting. It hurts.

The fact that I'm finished with my very first awesome knittingness totally makes up for my finger hurting. No, the scarf I knitted for my gram doesn't count, since that was just knitting every row. Boring!

The cloche was knit completely in the round on double pointed needles (dpn from here on out, for all you non-knits) and used knit-2-together (k2tog). I'm still in awe of how fast I knitted it and how awesome it is. :D

I shall now be turning on the dishwasher so my mum doesn't bitch and then going to bed to dream of even more awesome knit projects!

This day off sucks

I woke up today and just laid in bed and knitted while trying to clear some NCISs off of my DVR. Of course when I got up to eat breakfast (or lunch, rather), my parents came out of their room and said today was cleaning day.

So, instead of getting to finish up my cloche today, I had to clean the freaking kitchen, give the dog a bath, and then hold her while mum picked ticks off of her.

I did manage to find my thimble whilst cleaning off the computer desk. I am so freaking glad, because my left pointer is screaming from knitting so much.

My little brother is crying and being an ass because I told him I wasn't making any more Snickerdoodle Pinwheels and that the next cookies I make will be vegan. He's a little titty baby.

This post is boring without pictures. Maybe I'll have some in a while with a noticeable progression on my cloche.

Cloches and Hiccups

  • May. 23rd, 2008 at 12:30 AM
hewlettcowboy
First about the hiccups...I've got them and I've had them for a half hour now.
My dog is scared silly.
I'm not sure if it's the hiccups or the new stitch counter I've been playing with that's driving her batty.

I'm looking at this picture and it looks like she's got a strand of my Onyx Lamb's Pride Bulky yarn, but I remember it's just a shoelace. I keep my good yarn in a dresser drawer and the acrylic stuff in a bag. She got into the acrylic and ate a bunch. Bad dog.

I'm about halfway through Roxy's Foxy Cloche (pattern by Cirilia Rose). I'm using that beautiful Onyx Lamb's Pride. I'm in love.
I love the feel of it and how easy it knits up. It's going to be a beautiful cloche. I'm thinking a silver ribbon to define the brim from the 'bowl' of the hat, and maybe some sort of small flower or animal pin as an embellishment.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if I should weave the ribbon in before felting or just sew it to the outside after I've felted.

I went to a local Stitch'n'Bitch tonight (or last night, rather, as it's now Friday) at Stringtown Yarn and Fiber in Fort Smith. I love that place, seriously. Everyone is so nice. I love everything everyone's working on.
I especially like Sarah's Malabrigo Polar Morn legwarmers. Very beautiful. I also like cousin Sarah's purses. Oh, yep. I met one of my cousins (second or third, we couldn't figure it out) at Stringtown. We have the same Great Grandmother.
Thanks for showing me how to do cables, cuz! I think I might try and tackle a project with cables after finishing my cloche.

I bought some Polar Morn Malabrigo while I was there. I'd been admiring it for weeks now. I'm thinking it's going to be a nice slightly lacey scarf to go with my cloche.

I also bought some Wisdom Yarn Sonnet that was on sale. It's very pretty. I'm not sure what to make with it, though. I've got two 50g skeins of it. Approx 170 meters altogether.

I also bought a stitch counter, a set of stitch markers, and another set of ChiaoGoo Bamboo needles. I had a set of US10s and bought 8s this time.
I really like them, but my finger hurts. :(
I like metal needles a lot since my work is so tight, but I really really like the Bamboo, too.

I really needed the counter. You don't know how many times I had to count from the beginning to see how many more stitches I needed to make 90. The stitch markers will help with that, too.

I made cookies, as well, to take to Stringtown. They were a big hit. Snickerdoodle Pinwheels are pretty neat, aren't they?
Robin has the recipe if anyone wants it, or just message me for it. I'm going to be on the lookout for vegan cookies so that Sarah can have some too, next time I make it.

I hope to see the gang again soon. It was so much fun going.

I should really update this better. It's been two months since my last entry.

I quit CV's, my last day was Nov 30th. I couldn't take it anymore. Those people made me want to use a four day old baguette to bash people's skulls in.

I've been looking for a job since. I thought I had one at this hobby manufacturer but instead of hiring me like they said, they turned around and hired someone who'd already worked there.

It would have been the perfect job, seriously. 50 hours a week at 8$USD an hour. Easy work, too. Shipping and filing.

Been looking since then.

I got on at a Temp place and I've got a two week office stint starting tomorrow. I'm hoping I can get on at the PD as a 911 dispatcher.Cross your fingers everyone.

When I went to bed this morning, Star Wars was on. I got up, switched on the tv and Empire Strikes Back is on. You know the country is full of geeks when there's always a Star Wars on.

Jumper's finally being nice again. He stopped snuggling with me. Now he curls up between my legs again *pets the kitty*

So, last week when my brother was supposed to take out the trash, he just left an eighth of a sheet cake on the back porch, along with a full box of pizza. I heard rustling outside, and see two raccoons with frosting all over their face. ADORABLE

So, I turn on the light and open the curtains, but they run off. I leave the curtains open and lights on and wait. They just came back and opened the pizza box and grabbed a slice each!!!!

I am seriously blue in the face right now from laughing so hard and the resulting lack of oxygen which turned into some sort of asthma/coughing/wheezing thing that always happens when I laugh too hard.

Why am I killing myself with what is supposed to be the best medicine? Well, I shall tell you.

My brother lost his ciggarettes and was convinced I took them, since, yanno, I have before. *halo* He is standing next to me, getting in my face while I sit here on the couch trying to play gaiaonline fishing. I jerk my arm like I'm about to hit him in the nuts.

He just fucking staggers backwards and looses his footing, falling on his ass and hitting the desk chair with his shoulders and head. I DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING TOUCH THE FOOL. And now I am trying so hard to breathe because it was so damned funny.

All I can sputter out is 'omgwherethefuckisthecamera?IwinbigAFV' around the howling I'm doing, replaying that fucking stagger and wide-eyed surprise look in my head.

Fucking funniest thing I've ever seen.

Okay, so this has been the week from hell. Why? Well, please refer to my last post for part of the story.

Last night I went to work at 2pm. I wasn't supposed to be there until 4. Yay. So I filled out an accident report for the night before. Worked until 8. I was walking out the bakery door and because the floor is extremely slippery when wet, I busted my ass. Busted my ass so hard P heard me all the way across the bakery. Hurt my left shoulder and hip.

It hurt like fucking hell and was still hurting around midnight so gram took me to the ER. Nothing broken, just sore as all get out. Doc gave me some kind of pain med that starts with an 'L' and I'm just now starting to come off of the crazy train (I took it about 3:30). He also prescribed vicodin and told me to take today off. On the way out of the ER, I almost slipped and fell on the floor that was being mopped.

I was supposed to work 2-8 today and have tomorrow off, but it looks like that's gonna be switched.

I also have Friday 4-8 and hten Saturday off, too.

But, yeah, I had to fill out another accident report, but whaatever, yanno?

Also, new HIM song? Passion's Killing Floor? I totally can't understand most words, but ghods I love Ville's voice. Sooo shexy. *purrs* And the rest of the band, while not as hot as Ville is (when he doesn't have facial hair, cause facial hair VIlle reminds me of Jesus and Charles Manson.) are still fucking awesome. Linde plays a mean guitar.

I am here, through the hilarious moments and the sad ones. I love you, even when you're so tired that you snore in the middle of a sentence. I love you when you're wide awake and I'm not.

I love you, Connor, and there's really not anything else I can say besides that I'm amazed it's been a year and I'll continue to  be amazed every year from here on out. I'll continue to love you.
