SO I figured since I can't scan my paintings that I'd try and take photos of them and post them on my long ignored Deviant art gallery. Sadly since my digital camera is crap- cheapy thing bought at XS carg0 - some of the pics didn't turn out to great...
(So hint hint if any of my wealthy friends want to randomly get me something, a half decent digital camera would be highly appreciated! heh)
...but at least they are up there! And random people whom I don't know actually commented/made them favs. I love that.
So feel free to check it out yourselves. I'll be posting more/better photos in the next few days too so check back

So there's this little (well slightly chubby but still little) grey and white male cat in the adoption program named Pee Wee. The problem is he was surrendered to us due to peeing in the house but here in the clinic since he's in a kennel we can't tell if he's still having those issues since he's been using the litter box every time because of the confined space.
So the adoption coordinator put out a call for possible foster homes so we could evaluate and see if we will be able to find him a new home or if his kidney issues are to severe.
My parents are probably going to kill me but I offered to foster him. I figure my carpets are pretty much crap thanks to Mona (mom and dad have already said when we sell the condo we're gonna have to rip out all the carpets) and since I do own a portable steam cleaner I can handle any messes. The only issue is if Logan freaks out/doesn't accept him I'll have to bring him back.
I'll state now for the record I am only going to FOSTER Pee Wee, not adopt him. He's a sweet cat but he does have health issues and as cute as he may be I just can't go through that again, owning a cat with major health issues. But I figure if I can give him a chance to find a good home I should at least help with that.
I'll wait and see what the adoption coordination says. Who knows, someone else may have already volunteered (though I doubt it).
I'm just hoping my parents won't kill me *chuckle* Is it sad that I'm 28 and I'm still worried my parents will get mad at me? Oh well

I know I know- Where's the real update? Have you given up on LJ? What the heck are you doing?
I've been lazy admittedly, between work, home, friends and family I've been slacking. Quick update though, Stormie is still here. She's hanging with us until there is space in the adoption program for her to go back. I'm sad about this but its the right choice, as much as she loves me and from time to time likes Logan, there are to many random fights. Logan seems to always have cuts on his head from where she's smacked him and she won't let him groom her- which is what he loves to do. I've asked the adoption coordinator at work to keep on the look out for a very passive kitten who would love someone to groom them. Admittedly it makes me sad, its almost like losing Mona all over again cause I really have fallen for Stormie despite my insistance that I wasn't/wouldn't. But in the end I gotta do what's best for both cats.
Work is going okay, still trying to iron out this working weekend nights thing but I'm getting closer. Hopefully gonna have a sit down meeting with my boss and the other night girl this week.
Otherwise that's really all the news I have. However I finally got around to getting pictures of the completed mural I did at work- lettering and all! So I figured I'd post them here for you all to enjoy

Now I'm off to paint faces at a local outdoor festival to raise money for the Learning Disabilities association. Last year I brought my water color pencils and they worked great but we had very few kids due to bad weather. The weather looks good today though and I bought a whole new set of pencils so I'm excited to see what I can create :D

My titles are weird.
Sadly, I don't think Stormie is gonna work out. She is a sweet kitty and if it was just her and me I think things would be fine but she just isn't getting along with Logan. Its a combination of Stormie wanting to be top cat and Logan being to stubborn to notice. She'll groom him suer, but then she'll try to bite him. Also he no longer comes into my bed because Stormie has claimed it. He even won't snuggle with me on the couch cause I think maybe Stormie has claimed ME
This just isn't fair to Logan and it makes me sad.
I'm going to talk to the adoption co-ordinator. She sent me an email saying that there's no room in the adoption program right now so if I'm not keeping Stormie for good she might have to stay with me till there's space which is okay. But I'm pretty much sure I won't be keeping her, unless she does a complete 180 and lets Logan be the dominant cat again.
There's fat Alice here in the adoption program, I could try her, also we've got a few female kittens who are a possibility though that's kinda a last resort since I myself am not a big kitten fan- although getting a kitten might be a good idea because then Logan could train her from the ground up.
I dunno, I'm still kinda sad over the whole Stormie thing- not exactly easy to give up a cat after loosing one so recently, but as I told myself at the begining of this, this cat is for Logan not for me and its obvious Stormie prefers me over Logan.
I know I'm doing the right thing, it just kinda sucks.

BUT I DON'T CARE hee hee
Sharon and Bram of Sharon, Lois and Bram, are performing in Victoria on September 27th at the University, and DAMNIT I am so going to be there.
I don't care if I'm the only childless person there, though according to their website they are singing more "adult" music
I don't care what they sing, I LOVE BRAM'S VOICE!
Hopefully the tickets won't be too expensive

So Stormie is still randomly hissing/growling at Logan.
But yesterday she voluntarily got into the same chair as him and lay down and stayed there for four minutes! SQUEEEE
I also caught her allowing a few random licks and a headbutt from Logan.
I'm staying neutral (or at least attempting too) so I won't get disappointed if it doesn't work out, but this does make me a little bit hopeful.

I know I owe a big huge update but I lack the energy.
Right now I'm worried about Stormie. She was brought home last week. At first I thought she was warming up to Logan. There was a bit of hissing and growling but I thought they were getting over it but yesterday I caught her seriously trying to bit/hit Logan with the intent of causing damage.
This has got me really frustrated. I really like Stormie. She's a little cuddle bug. She likes the apartment, she likes the balcony, she likes me.
But I dunno if she's ever gonna like Logan. And there in lies the rub.
Maybe if I lived in a house and she and Logan could have their own space I'd think of keeping her despite her and Logan's inability to completely get along but it really won't work in an apartment.
I'm gonna give her one more week and then see where we are. Right now I spereated them at night when I'm at work cause I get nervous if I'm not there to break up serious spats
I know this shouldn't depress me as much as it is, but I just feel blah over all of this
I really just miss Mona.
Also I gotta get Stormie back to the hospital for her boosters so I've either gotta get a ride from my parents or see if I can beg a ride from a friend with a car
Fingers crossed, maybe Stormie will prove me wrong.

Phew- been a busy couple of days.
First Wednesday night I arrived at 9:30pm. Mom and Dad met me at the airport, after the world's SLOWEST baggage collection. Geez
They drove me over to my Uncle's. Thanks to the time difference and that fun I didn't end up getting to sleep until 5am- blah! I spent most of the night snooping through my Uncle's house. My aunt and uncle are the most BORING PEOPLE EVER! Their house is like straight out of a magazine, everything perfect and sitting in its perfect spot...boring! Except for my uncle's cluttered work shop there is like NO personality here. I spent most of the night watching tv and reading fanfiction and nearly finishing Twilight (very good vampire cheese).
Thursday I woke up at around 10. I've come to realize I sleep in five hour intervals now. If I want more sleep I'll get up for a couple hours and do stuff then head back to bed. I called Dad once I got up. Mom had plans to spend the day with her cousin who was visiting from California so Dad and I got to spend the day together. We went to lunch at a local resteraunt called Delly Boys which serves HUGE smoked meat sandwiches. After that we drove to the Biodome.
http://www2.ville.montreal.qc.ca/biodom e/site/site.php?langue=en
For those of you who have never been there the Biodome is this open concept zoo. It has four different environments- Rainforest, Boreal Forest, Atlantic Canada type, and the artic. Not all of it is open obvious- no petting the aligators! But a lot of it is so you have birds flying over head and such. I took a lot of pictures and videos which I'll post later in facebook. They built it in the old olympic stadium that was used for bike racing- melodrome I think is the proper title.
After that we went back to my Grandma's for dinner and I showed her pics from Chrissie's wedding and of Stormie. Then I came back to my Uncle's and watched Tank Girl till I got tired and went to bed.
Today was fun to. I slept better and woke up around 10 again. Dad and I went out for lunch at Le Fleur which is a famous hotdog place. Then we went to the dollarama. I LOVE the DOLLARAMA and as far as I've seen nothing like it exists in BC. I bought 5 packs of these inking pens I discovered back in Kingston since my last one just died. I also found a whole bunch of stationary excessories from this line http://www.hanadeka.com/english/index.h tm- I got notebooks, postit notes, memo pad, pencil case and even placemats for Logan's food bowl. I also got some more magnet paper that you can use to make your own fridge magnets and some tinkerbell stickers for my friend.
After that we, Mom, Dad, Grandma and me went out shopping. I had seen a flyer for cheap sandels the day before and mentioned I wanted to swing by there. Once Grandma heard I wanted to buy some sandels she insisted on buying some for me and insisted we go to this store she liked. In the end I got some very high quality sandels which was really nice of her.
After shopping we got dressed up and went with my Uncle Doug to le Bifteheque http://www.lebiftheque.com/main.php?l=f r&c=groups for dinner. it was very yummy even though I ordered a mix drink I thought I liked back in my University days- turns out I didn't :P
Tonight I gotta wash my hair before I crash since tomorrow is the memorial service. My other uncle is bussing in from Toronto and my brother and his girlfriend are driving from Ottawa. I was gonna sing a song but I think I'm gonna wuss out, since I don't really feel comfortably singing which is fine. Then we go back for snacks at my other Grandma's apartment. We may go see a film Saturday night but I dunno. Then Sunday I fly back with Dad.
I'm hoping this time I get one of the fun new planes with touch screen stuff. Dad and Uncle Doug both got those planes but Mom and I didn't on the way here, so its a gamble. Even if I don't though I've got my cellphone to listen too and still have the book Randy gave me and my Charles De Lint book to read.
I have to say though, I am glad I don't live in Montreal. As cool as big cities are, I just don't like it here. For one thing its DIRTY! I had to wash my face at my Grandma's after walking around for a bit cause I just felt gross and when I dragged my finger nail down my cheek black sludge came up- EWWWWWW. Also the drivers here ARE INSANE! They make up lanes, turn whenever and where ever they want and don't give a crap about anyone else on the road. I saw a guy riding his bike in the middle of the road, with no helmet, no hands on the handle bars, TALKING ON A CELL PHONE! I just stood there amazed at his stupidity.
I definantly cannot wait to get home. I miss my clean, not muggy city. I miss my bed and my cat. Heck I even miss my job! This is definantly one of those vacations where you're happiest once you get back home, though I am having fun.

So I paid 10 dollars so I could have an hour of net before my flight. Waste of money I know but since I was good and didn't buy myself a book or anything else at the giftshop I figured it was an acceptable little travel gift to myself
The flight to vancouver was fun, I was sitting behind the two cutest little girls and their Dad was beside me. I almost regret the flight was so short cause I would have loved to listen to them some more.
I feel bad though, because of all the errans I ran on Tuesday ( I was awake 17 freaking hours) I ended up passing out before I got all the cleaning done I meant to and I left my housesitter with a full sink of dirty dishes *GAH* but I left her a note saying I'd treat her to a dinner out on the town when I get back.
I have such a dirty mind. Walking to my gate I passed a group of asian nuns and one of them had a bag that said, and I kid you not "Feel Wood"
I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing out loud.
I'm excited for the Montreal flight mostly because I wanna check out this new entertainment system Air canada has. Apparently there are touch screens and you get to select what you wanna watch and if I read the inflight magazine right Spiderwick is one of the movies you can watch. I've been wanting to see that one :D
So that's it for now. Hopefully I'll be able to get some wifi in Montreal or perhaps my Uncle will have net at his place, if not I'll post again Sunday when I get back.

Everyone has been really great. I talked to the vet today, she's going to email a detailed report of the necropsy but at the staff meeting she told me that what most likely caused Mona's death was fluid in her abdomen which she found. But the entire case has her baffled. She told me she sent samples and every organ she could to be tested. We both lamented that Mona did love to be a challenge.
A friend of mine sent me a wonderful drawing. I've got a memorial facebook group set up for Mona so it'll be posted there but I thought I'd share it here as well. The other cat in the picture is Tito, one of her cats who has passed on.

To a wonderful cat. I only had you with me for five years, but you made me smile every day I knew you. I hope you're now up in heaven chatting with you're sister. Your furry brother and I will miss you greatly.

I dunno if its just cause I'm really busy this week or if its cause I'm sober but my "weekend" seems to have just flown by. I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow.
Yesterday was good. Since Dad couldn't go to spin class cause of a meeting I went with Mom to her gym and did a low impact exercise session. It wore me out but not in the same way as the spin class. I'm thinking I might go and see about getting a pass there and trying to go more often, it all depends on cost.
Then I met up with the other bride's maids for my friend's wedding to get shoes. The others got pink ones that matched their dresses but I opted for a pair of white ones since I would NEVER wear pink shoes again in my life. They're 2 inch heeled white sandle things so they are at least fancy if not pink.
This morning we had therapy with Logan. He was great! I dunno if it was because he woke me up at 4am for food or if it was the nice weather but he was in a bit of a sleepy mood which worked out well. He crashed in the bed with one of our regulars who we hadn't visited in awhile because two weeks ago she was very upset and randomly screaming and last week she was asleep. But this week she was back to her old self, grinning like a kid at Christmas when we entered the room. Then he went on to impress me by letting not one but two little old ladies cuddle him on their laps. Usually he sits on my lap and they pet him cause I'm nervous he'll try and jump, but he was just really good today. Plus a daughter of one of the ladies was visiting and I think I sold her on the idea of checking out some of the cats at VPAS since she mentioned she was looking to adopt another cat heh.
Once I unwind from my visit I'm heading out to get my hair cut and pick up some hair dye. I was originally going to have it dyed at the hair dressors but money is kinda tight and Mom offered to help plus I need to head back to their place anyway to get my laundry...and take advantage of the fact they FINALLY got digital cable and right now have all the channels- HUZZAH ANIMAL PLANET!! I really wish you could get that channel on normal tv but since right now I'm getting full cable tv for free I shouldn't complain - I called and canceled my cable back in Feburary and they haven't turned it off yet *evil grin*
But ya, I dunno, really doesn't feel like I've had much of a break this week. Probably gonna be like that for awhile. Next week I gotta get my bedroom cleaned and get the wedding gift and then Friday May 16th we drive up to Duncan in the morning for the wedding rehersal. I'm gonna have to see if I can snag someone in the audience on the day of the wedding and have them use my digital camera to video the ceremony since I've got more then enough video time with the 1 gig card.
Funny wedding story though- yesterday when we were getting shoes one of the bride's maids boyfriends was there. Now I knew that the groom was planning on having him as one of the groomsmen but when I mentioned it to him I got a complete blank look. Turns out while the bride and the groom had mentioned it to other people, they had forgotten to tell him. We ended up using my cellphone to call the groom and confirm that he IS a groomsman. Needless to say everyone was very thankful that I had brought up the subject because otherwise who knows what would have happened heh
Anyway gonna take a few more minutes to relax on the couch then off I go for haircutting fun.
