So I finally got to see the end of Avatar. Pretty good, the fight scene between Aang and Ozai was brilliant- the fire lord kicked a lot of ass! I wasn't expecting it since he wasn't impressive in previous confrontations. Aang was just so powerful in the end and it was great to see him realize his avatar potential :) To think he can actually take your bending away without killing you is the best way to go and I'm more impressed with this than with Katara's bloodbending, which I'm glad she didn't have to use in the finale.

Fight scene between Zuko and Azula was amazing as well...based on their duels in past episodes (Southern Raiders, Boiling Rock, etc.), I could tell that Zuko was already as good as his sister in fighting. I thought it would be a Katara-Azula duel in the finale, but I guess that an Agni Kai between brother and sister was the only way Zuko could win the throne honorably. Maybe it was also good for him. I felt a bit bad for Azula but figured that she would eventually lose it. She was just too selfish and weak...which is ironic, considering that she is probably one of the best villainesses in animation. I think her weakness stems from how she doesn't know how to love people, and in order to get them to stay with her or do what she wants, she has to scare them...I never felt that she, Mai and Ty Lee were a solid group because there was never a sense of equality in their circle. It was a good thing the two other girls left, seeing as Azula might have killed them if she saw them again. In any case, Azula would have ruined the fire nation as firelord (and subsequently, other nations too), so it's a good thing she wasn't made ruler and that she's in that asylum now. Reminds me of how that girl, Nancy, ended up like in The Craft.

Wonder what happened to Ursa though...I loved that scene where she tells Azula she loves her and Azula just loses it. In the end, despite all the ass kicking, devious spymastering and lightning bending, she was just another spoiled brat. One I felt sorry for at times.

Another tearjerking scene was when Zuko and Iroh reunited. I don't like Zuko that much, but I have to admit that he was one of those characters who grew within the episodes. I like it when characters start out as not so good and then improve in time.

Can't believe its over now, and can't wait for the episode specials and the live action movie. :)

The Dark Knight

So I finally got to see The Dark Knight this weekend...pretty good movie, IMHO, though I felt that Joker eclipsed Batman too much. I'm not sure if it was Heath Ledger or the script or maybe both, but I don't think that should be the case. Everything else was okay but I wish they cast someone else other than Maggie Gyllenhaal for Rachel. I don't find her particularly attractive (the opposite) and she wasn't anything great in the role, either. Oh well, it couldn't be perfect.

Office Christmas Party pictures

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

The main event for Smart Ccare's annual Christmas party was a fashion show, ala Project Runway. Each department got to compete and have some kind of theme going on. Ours (CC Process Solutions) was a futuristic theme, and it worked pretty well given my supervisor's talent when it came to making headresses made of CDs and paper plates.

Our housekeeper made my vest...but I sewed the silver cloth and foil into my pants that morning. And the CDs into my silver sandals, too.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Jenny, Me (middle) and Iryll. I put the foil in Iryll's hair here. Jenny made her own dress.
Ochie, Kristine and Amy. Ms. Ochie made her dress entirely out of CDs, and I like the gangster thing she's got going there :). Kristine played the role of our 'alien queen', and I lent her this toy wand I got for my birthday. She wrapped it in foil and used it as a sceptre. I really like how Jenny made her headress out of a balloon, of all things.
Nowell and Marifel Nowell's eyes are painted to look open even when closed.

All in all it was a lot of fun, and we won the fashion show for that night :) The other departments were good, too. Business Development had this James Bond theme and all the men wore tuxedos and donned toy guns, while the women wore these incredibly seductive gowns. Tech Ops donned streetwear while one group (forget which) composed entirely out of women wore short cocktail dresses and very heavy makeup, long hairwigs and false eyelashes.

Some GA cell phone themes I just made... as always, please tell if some of them don't work and they will be reuploaded. Note that these are only for Nokia N series E50, N71, N73, N92 and N93. I'm not sure if they can be used for other models, but if you wish to make your own GA skins, check out ownskin.

A helpful tip: know what resolution your phone screen is and resize the image before uploading. I found out my resolution by doing a search, and it made it easier as I didn't have to crop during the skin creation process anymore.

(Note: If you're going to use copywrited material such as fanart or restricted images, please inform the omner first and ask for permission, thanks)

That said, registration and membership is free, so have fun. :)

The power of Photoshop compels you.

There are so many things wrong with this, and it looks pretty scary to me. These things are probably used in dating services, I dunno. But a larger eye=/= a prettier person, especially if that person looks possessed.

Superhero Movies

Oh God, I'm so excited for the Superman movie tomorrow! I have it all planned. First, I'm going to buy my current favorite beverage, Pearl Milk Tea Zagu. Then, I'm going to go into the theatre early enough to catch a glimpse of the Spiderman 3 trailer. Check out this site if you don't mind a low quality version. It's great to be a comic book fan these days. :D

A few days ago they had this promo gimmick thing in the Promenade. They got an advertising team to dress up as the cast of Superman, and you could ask them to pose for you and take their pictures. Or you could also hang in the background (there was this ledge in the settings which you could hang onto and pretend to be rescued by SM) and have the shot taken. I didn't participate in it, but it amused me, anyhow.

Seriously people, it's just a MOVIE! A monster movie, at that. For the record, I've been on a King Kong kick for quite awhile now and have recently purchased the 1976 version of the film, just to compare them. It was fun, and Jessica Lange was hot- if a bit of an airhead.

"My name is Dwan. That's D-W-A-N. It was actually Dawn, but I switched two of the letters to make it memorable."

"I owe my life to a movie...I was saved by Deep Throat."

"I'm a Saggitarius...what's your horoscope? Oh don't tell me- you're an Aries, right?"
---this she says to Kong.

Still, she was pretty hot. I can see why she tops most of the 'sexiest King Kong' babe polls. Overall, Naomi Watts is still my favorite. She was absolutely gorgeous in 2005 KK, and her character had a lot more depth. Peter Jackson's Kong kicked ass! My favorite parts of the movie (aside from that fabulous TRex fight) were when Ann did those vaudeville tricks for the beast, and when Kong was wreaking havoc in New York, while simultaneously searching through all the blondes. It was funny, and a little bit sad.

Word, word, word and WORD.

Currently delving in the HP fandom again, what with the recent release of HPGOF. Started a thread in fictionalley park here; too bad I don't have time to draw fan art. Nasubionna and the others do it so nicely, though. Some of my favorites:

That Garrett Hedlund so reminds me of Kenny from South Park now. O__o;; I hope it won't be a pattern, kind of like the way Orlando Bloom always diddles around with the mens wives in practically every movie he's in. Not that I mind. It's rather amusing, mind you.
