New Favorite Ad. =3 It's so... Dali-esque!
Also, I have this strange compulsion to write "Arthur" fanfiction. ... What? Don't give me that look!
And I've been checking my MySpace profile, and it seems that a lot of black guys wanna add me for some reason. I'm not upset or anything, it's just... odd, that I've had 3 invites in the span of a week, and I rarely get 1 invite from any guy (usually white) per month. Dang, if I could only get that kind of attention from Asian guys... lolz
Oh, and I'm pretty much out of school. Done with finals. =)
I do have a summer class, but only for two and a half weeks. If I pass, I don't need to take Chemistry, so yay. =D Later!

I... uh, sure miss talking to you guys.
What's up? Has everyone been busy?
Or am I the one at fault? Am I being too angsty, or not replying enough to your posts? I'm sorry, everyone! I'll try to keep up once school is done and over with...
...
Is this what it's come down to? I'm so starved for interaction that I'm begging for someone to talk to on the INTERNET??
Boy, I've sunk low... lol?

So, Hillary wins in Pennsylvania. That's a significant win, right?
I'm still betting on Hillary winning the candidacy, with Obama as her running mate.
Won't be long. "Hillary / Obama for 2008" bumper stickers. The Sabertooth Seer has spoken!

What? Just because I take intense interest in a catfight between the two hottest Democrats doesn't mean I'm actually voting for one of them. That's like... throwing kerosene on a bonfire.
Besides, I'm a Republican. Born and raised. ^_^
[ducks away from the incoming rotten tomatoes being thrown in her general direction]

Hey, how long has it been since you've seen one of these article-related entries, huh?
New Kids Book: My Beautiful Mommy
In this new children's title, "Mommy" explains why she's going in for plastic surgery.
Yup. Plastic surgery. I wouldn't post an article here unless I found it inspiring or offensive. And it's obviously not the former.

Dear
neongreengeisha,
I don't really know how to tell you this, but I dislike you.
I think I realized it when we skinny dipped with George Bush and his wife and I saw you ignore my avocado plant.
I'm sure you're senile enough to understand that your Honda sucks.
I'm returning your contact book to you, but I'll keep your photo as a memory.
You should also know that I was interviewed by the Times about a new life as a clone.
Go burn,
Anne

Today's the day. One year ago, a seriously disturbed young man carried out his plan of action against a world that had been cruel to him, taking out 33 innocent lives before ending his own.
To this day, I can't remember a single one of the other 33 names. I probably never will. Neither will most of us.
Most folks won't remember the killer's name, either. If anything, they will remember him with great contempt for the horrific deed he carried out one year ago.
But I remember Cho Seung-Hui, and with my greatest sympathies.
Never in my life was I so moved to care about someone I didn't even know, someone I will never know now. Charity organizations around the globe depend on this type of compassion - they slap pictures of starving little children in Africa, India, Indonesia, etc and pray that SOMEONE (many someones, in fact) will send a generous donation their way, in hopes of saving those children and countless others that can't fit into a 2-minute TV ad.
So why is it that I am more moved by the perpetrator of a brutal slaying than millions of bright-eyed starving little children?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and I'll keep saying it until the day I die - I was once like him, and had it not been for the grace of God Almighty that would have eventually been me!
For the longest time I hated people. I wished I never had to socialize with anyone. I came from a place where no one could be trusted and no one cared about me. THANK GOD for Christian Liberty Academy and the few friendships I was able to develop. THANK GOD for Trinity College, and THANK GOD for their Counseling Center!
If I continued down that destructive road, I don't know where I would be. I could be an alcoholic. I could be a drug addict. I could have driven myself to suicide eventually. Or worse...
And that's where Cho comes in. Unfortunately he chose a path of destruction. It PAINS me to consider what led him to that conclusion. If only someone had been there for him... If only something could have assured him, "You don't have to live like this, you don't have to let this pain consume you..."
And what hurts even more is that no one even considers this when they look for a possible school shooter. They look for the external things - guns, violent movies and video games, etc. The whole matter of looking for possible school shooters has become a man-hunt for demons. The police, the school administrators, the parents, the students... everyone is more concerned with finding these evil, horrible, wicked, cruel MONSTERS that they don't realize that they are also PEOPLE.
Despite what the media says, I don't believe there is any genetic proof of people being "born evil" (although I do believe every one of us is born, well, sinful, but that's an entirely separate issue). We need to get past that mental picture of a raving lunatic hiding in his closet, polishing his Glock and waiting for the right moment to run into the mess hall guns ablazing. Even moreso, I think we need to get past the belief that there's nothing we can do about it. "Not my fault he's a wack-job." "I didn't make him do anything." "There's nothing we could have done to prevent this tragedy."
Oh yes, there is.
How about cracking down on bullying in schools? Elementary schools, junior high, high school, college - they all need this bit of social reform. From kindergarten we are taught to be nice to each other; what ever happened to that? How about reminding students that everyone is a human being that deserves to be treated with respect? Doesn't matter if he's 10, 15, or 20 - if he's being a bully, a jerk, or a jack***, that's no excuse.
You wanna make a difference in the world by stopping school shootings? FOCUS ON THE KIDS. Don't let a whole group of kids push someone else around. If a kid says someone has been picking on him, listen to him, gather facts and evaluate the claim. Better yet, keep an eye on them: in class, during lunch, at recess, whenever it is possible to watch them without infringing on their basic human rights. And, since it isn't possible to be with every child 24/7/365, it'd also be a good idea for the students to have a safe place to talk about their feelings, their interactions with others, and the matters that really concern them.
It might sound like a lot to work with, and to be honest I wish we didn't have to go to these measures. I wish we lived in a world where no one pushed anyone else around. Unfortunately, WE DO - from 3rd graders to business associates, even oppressive world leaders. There's nothing we can do to eliminate it entirely... HOWEVER, that's no excuse for not trying to decrease the numbers of seriously distressed students on the verge of taking out their rage on themselves and others.
I'd say, it's worth the time and effort to look into these things.
For now, we look back on Virginia Tech and the horrific events that transpired that day. Across the nation, people will remember the 33 young men and women who lost their lives to a madman, cutting their promising lives so tragically short.
They will be in my memories as well. But today, I also remember a kindred spirit, a young man who was once a lot like me. The tragedy I will reflect upon will be on how he couldn't be saved from the pain that consumed him, how he felt so lost and desperate that he had to slaughter innocents to pay for the sins of the guilty parties in his life... and how not even that was enough.
I've never met you, Cho Seung-Hui... but I know you, more than you can imagine, and you are dearly missed.
I cry out with no reply, and
I can't feel you by my side, so
I hold tight to what I know,
You're here... and I'm never alone...

I'm not a huge fan of the Toy Story series, but I have to admit this looks really interesting. Even though Pixar is now on-board for the movie, I still liked Circle7's idea for a plot. I would really loved to have seen that!

Seriously - what do you think? Like it? Hate it? Why? What did you like or hate about it? Did the mooning bird annoy you as much as it did me?
I know, I put up more than a few YouTube clips, and usually I don't expect much of a response. But this cartoon is just so out there... I had to get some other opinions. So, what do you think?
ALSO: Somebody please enlighten me - someone on YouTube made a comment about the Grim Reaper's gesture being inappropriate for children... well, actually, the person couldn't believe Nickelodeon once broadcast this cartoon because of the Grim Reaper's gesture, but did not go farther than that.
I may be REALLY asking for it, but... watch the cartoon, and if you understand what the Grim Reaper's gesture means, let me know here. Otherwise this is REALLY gonna bug me for a long time...

Question:
Does being more mature than your peers have its drawbacks? Do the drawbacks outweigh the benefits? Why do you think so?
I ask because I recenty had a conversation with an online buddy, Steve. At one point, Steve became more... um, childish than he had been in our previous conversations (which made me wonder if A. a buddy / roommate / brother saw the open IM window and started typing, or B. a bug had leaked into his system, since he was going on and on about an author I could care less about). And something interesting occured:
Anne: I feel like I'm very mature for my age. Like I'm a 40-year-old in a 21-year-old body. lol
Steve: Aw, why? That's no fun.
...
I honestly had no idea how to respond to that.
( My Thought Process )
...
And now that I've exhausted more rabbit trails than necessary, back to the main question. Is it a drawback to be more maturely-minded for your age group? An outside opinion is always appreciated. =)

Yup. They range from silly to serious, from obvious to extremely difficult.
I don't need to tell you to look for the obvious ones first. But if you weren't quick enough to catch them, take a look at the others and try to guess the context in which it's being stated. If you've seen any of these movies but don't remember some of the more obscure quotes, the answer may be revealed to you. ~_^
Happy guessing!
