Lex felt strange as he moved from room to room of the house, touching pictures and knickknacks. Everything was familiar, yet seemed different. It was as if he were seeing things with new eyes; eyes that told him ‘this is what you chose, this is what was meant to be.’
Arms wrapped around him from behind and a kiss pressed against his neck. “Hello, Mr. Ex-Mayor,” Clark murmured in his ear. “I’m glad you’re home.”
A content smile spread across Lex’s lips, as he leaned into the embrace. He had his answer. “So am I, Clark. So am I.”
