...I didn't intend to become a Sokka x Zuko fangirl, I really didn't. But that was before I found some fantastic Avatar fic yesterday...and heck, it wasn't even slash fic, it was just pure friendship/interaction fic. But it was SO damn good, and it got the gears in my devious little mind spinning, and thus I am now the captain of my very own OOC crackship. Yay me.

Speaking of Avatar and shipping, some of the people in this fandom are just downright certifiable. I mean, HO-LEE crap. I was reading some DA journal entries by Zutara fans, and the sheer rabid wanking going on right now is just epic. What I want to know is how an entire series can be ruined because the pairing WE KNEW WAS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN FROM THE BEGINNING is...not happening. Why must this fandom be filled with stupid?

Okay, enough bitching about Avatar. In other news, my final exams are over and I don't think I failed either one! Woo-hoo!

I need to call Pet Companions and see if I can work there again this summer...

So there's a massive shitstorm occuring in the Avatar fandom right now. See, the last episodes, including the 4-part finale, are not set to air until July. However, there is a very kiddie version of the finale currently out in book form--I know, stupid, right? So anyway, of course there are now spoilers splashed everywhere across the intarwebs. They're very vague, but they still reveal a couple of major plot points.

I debated with myself whether or not to read them, but eventually I caved and did. Again, they're pretty vague, and they leave a lot of wiggle room, but I was happy that some of my fears were laid to rest.

The thing that pisses me off are all the stick-up-the-butt fans who are now complaining that the finale will suck and they may as well not watch it, because they don't like the spoilers. I mean, come on--how the HELL can you judge something that hasn't even aired yet based on a few watered-down facts that may or may not play out exactly like they're written? Besides, from what I've read, it's going to end pretty much the way everyone's been speculating it will, and I certainly don't have a problem with that. Arg.

That's the one problem with Avatar; the fandom leaves a lot to be desired, what with the vicious shipping wars and everyone getting so easily pissed off when their pet theory doesn't pan out.

Anyway. If I upload the episodes on Megaupload or Sendspace or someplace like that, will people (Pocky, MP, Kithal, Olive?) actually download and watch them? Pretty please? :D Because I don't want to bother if the answer is no...too much of a pain.

[edit] Oh my GOD, I need to stay out of the Avatar fandom until the finale airs. The bitching is INSANE, and the stupid is overwhelming. "So-and-so got killed off just so my pet ship couldn't happen, waaaaaaaaaah!" "THIS should have happened because it would have been so much more awesome waaaaaaaaaah!" "That's such a lame cop-out waaaaaaaaaah!" "Avatar is ruined because I've decided to jump to conclusions about a few vague lines waaaaaaaaaah!"

OH MY GOD SHUT UP YOU MORONS.

*dies*

My dad was interviewed on the news tonight. :P He was working in Boston and witnessed a huge car crash/explosion.

Click on "Watch the video"--my dad is the guy at the very beginning who says the truck came barelling through the intersection, and then later on, he's the guy who says it's a miracle nobody died. The news guys called him "Peter Dollman". They got the first name right, but our last name...is not Dollman. XD

News Story

Also, I continue with my campaign to spread the Avatar love. Watch it, plz? :D

Episodes here and here.

(The first two links have MAJOR spoilers for Avatar, so fair warning.)

LOL

Okay, so the fangirl squealing is a pain, and you won't get it if you don't watch Avatar, but DA-yum. That was funny. The looks on Zuko and Aang's faces after the "Blue Spirit" scene were PRICELESS.

Speaking of things I can't wait to see...

The trailer for the Avatar season finale.

...Gah. Avatar, you have completely sucked me in again. And after the gutpunch that was the end of season 2, no less.

Seriously, guys--and by guys I mean people I know who read this little ol' LJ--watch Avatar. Please. I am BEGGING you. It's so flipping GOOD. Here, you don't even have to download it:

Here and Here.

You can probably also find it on Veoh and Youtube, and a million other places.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease watch it! *cavalier king charles puppy eyes*

Yesterday me and my family went to the Longhorn Steakhouse for my mom's birthday. One of our servers was a blonde girl about my age. As she was taking our menus, she looked at me and said "Hey Lindsay, how's it going?".

...I...had no idea who she was.

So I just said "Hi" back, kind of awkwardly, and spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how the heck she knew me and who she was. Still can't figure it out. Oh well.

Hey Pocky, are you gonna join Gaia? Because if not, I'm going to sell my three extra magical girl items. If you are, though, you can have'em.

Apollo, my computer desk betta, has apparently decided that his thermometer is his mortal enemy. Or possibly he's in love with it, I can't tell. But he keeps going over and eyeing it, cocking his little head to get a better look, and then doing his flare-wiggle dance at it. It's extremely cute.

Speaking of bettas, somebody on a forum I visit posted a YouTube video of some girl at Wal-Mart picking up betta cups and spinning them around. She apparently thought this was funny, since she was giggling the whole time. So we all went over and posted nasty comments--I do believe I called her a siphilitic whore, and advised her to play in traffic--and reported the video for animal abuse. Hopefully it'll be taken down soon.

[edit] The ending of Avatar season 2 left me totally traumatized, and so, even though season 3's been airing for a while, I was kind of wary about watching it. Tonight I finally bit the bullet and started.

...HOLY CRAP I forgot how good this show is. I just watched all 15 episodes of season 3 straight through. And now I'm dying to see what happens next.

A very long time ago, when I was maybe 8, 10 years old, possibly younger, I found a very strange looking catepillar on the side of my house. It was big and furry and flat, and sort of a mottled gray-ish color. I brought it inside and put it in a container with a stick, where it promptly spun a cocoon.

But it never hatched.

Every once in a while, I found myself wondering what kind of catepillar it was.

Today, by a totally random chance, I found out!

Er, not for the eyes of those who dislike moths.

Yup, that was my catepillar. And holy crap, the moth is so damned CUTE. I wish mine had hatched. I've NEVER seen anything like it, and I'm in LOVE.

...

Hey, you know those annoying "Emergency Broadcast System" tests that pop up on the TV every now and then? Well, for the first time, we have an ACTUAL emergency. A 6-month-old child was abducted in Arlington. Oddly enough, the alert claims he was actually kidnapped by his parents.

I have to pull a research paper out of my ass tonight. That ought to be fun.

Also, I've been watching/reading Amatsuki, and it's quite good. Plus, Toki's voiced by the same guy that does Watanuki's voice, so I keep expecting to see Toki spaz out on Kon. Heh.

Last night I read through all of my doujinshi. I...have a lot of doujinshi. There were a couple of gems in there that I had forgotten about, though.

Yay, Red Sox win! Anyway.

Apollo the betta is watching me as I type this, no doubt hoping that I'll forget today is fast day and give him a few pellets. I'm on to you, Apollo. And there he goes attacking his thermometer again.

Have I posted pictures of my newest fish? No? Well, then.

Demonoid.com is back up! I was totally bummed when it got the "cease-and-desist" treatment, because it's one of the best torrent sites that I know of.

I recently read some episode summaries for season 3 of Avatar, mostly to see if Zuko had finally managed to pull his head out of his ass. Apparantly he has. So I'll be watching that soon.

I've also got a few new shows to watch...along with xxxHOLiC: Kei and Kyou Kara Maou!, I've got Nabari no Ou, Amatsuki and Monochrome Factor. Haven't watched the last two yet, but Nabari no Ou looks like it will be a great deal of fun. Very nice art.

I cleaned 6 fish tanks today. That was about as fun as it sounds.

RO is on hold. Again. I'm trying really hard to get interested in it. ._.

Woot, two of my favorite shows have started up again! I just got through watching the first episodes of the new seasons of Kyou Kara Maou and xxxHOLiC~ Took me a little while to find the raws, but it was totally worth it. <3

KKM was awesome and funny, as usual. And man, they just jumped straight into some serious plotline. Plus we got more Murata than usual, which was nice. I can't wait for the next episode...I want to see Yuuri's reaction to Wolfram's new status. XD Not to mention I'm dying to find out what that's all about myself.

xxxHOLiC was also great as usual...we finally get to see the spider arc animated! It's probably my favorite plotline, rivaled only by that story about the ghost of the mother who befriended Watanuki. Also, Yuuko's wardrobe continues to amaze.

...BUT. The best thing about the episode was that it had two Oofuri cameos. Seriously. One where we get a brief glimpse of it playing on TV, and one where Mihashi's on the cover of the magazine Yuuko is reading. It was awesome.

Tomorrow my bio class is going to Nahant beach to do...bio things. It's supposed to rain though, which sucks. Blah.

I need to come up with a name for my cute new betta...hmmm.

I swear I will start Ragnarok! Gawd. I need to like, write that down in a notebook or something. Before I get distracted by more fish.

...Cuz, oh yeah, I got another one of those. :D

There's a lady on the show I'm watching who called some wildlife experts because she had "mystery creatures" in her back yard. They turned out to be lizards. If you cannot identify a creature as a lizard just by looking at it, please get off my planet. Thanks.

I had to catch some spiders for my bio class. Fortunately I've got a basement full of the critters. So now I've got two of them in little glass vials. One of them's your garden-variety cobweb spider, but I don't know what the other guy is.

Got a cavity filled today. Eventually I may not be able to go through airport metal detectors. It really sucked, too, because the doctor didn't use quite enough novacaine, so I could feel the nerve twinging as he drilled.

Also had a small yelling match with my mom. See, she's...well, she's a nag, to put it bluntly. And she has a habit of calling to remind me about everything, even though I've told her to stop. Well, today she called me before I left for my dentist appointment. I heard the phone ringing and ignored it, since I knew it was her. But then she called again. And again. And again. And again. Finally, just before I headed out, I picked up the phone and snapped at her. She called me rude. Riiiiiiight. Anyway, when she got home from work, we had a "discussion" about her nagging and she promised to stop reminding me to do things fifty million times. I wonder how long it'll last this time. *rolls eyes*

Yesterday I went to PetCo to stock up on supplies, and listened to a young couple as they tried to decide on some fish for their first tank. The employee they were talking to was surprisingly truthful--he actually told them how big goldfish grow, although I was disappointed to then hear him say they needed only two gallons per inch of fish. Um, no. But anyway. This couple...they were lucky I was in a hurry, because I was sorely tempted to throttle them with my bare hands. Seriously, what is so goddamn hard about researching a little before you buy an animal? I mean, for fuck's sake. They were loud, obnoxious, stupid--I wanted to hit them. I think they ended up settling on an African cichlid of some sort--because hey, THERE'S a great fish for a beginner! Betcha anything they'll be back in a few days, wondering why it died.

I hope they don't have kids. Fuckwads.

I keep thinking I hear Ginger's collar clinking, or her nails clacking on the hardwood floor. I keep looking in my parent's room out of habit, because that's where she always used to sleep. My dad says he keeps checking outside because he thinks he left her out there. Arg. When you have a dog for 17 years, it's really hard to get used to life without them.

Now for happier stuff...there's a new Maximum Ride book out, and my copy will be here soon~. I do so love that series. Also, they're (whoever "they" is, I forget) finally releasing the rest of the translated Slayers novels. I just ordered 7 and 8, so that's more goodies to look forward too.

I finally got my mom to read Odd Thomas, and she's loving it so far. I *told* her she would.

Also, I am very seriously considering buying this fish. I've been wanting a betta off Aquabid for a while now, and I've always wanted a doubletail. Besides having nice coloration, this guy's caudal is also nice and long, and the lobes are even. I recently lost one of my bettas, Sylph, to a bacterial swim bladder infection, so I've got room. My tax money came, so I've got cash. I...may actually do it. ._. It's kinda scary ordering a fish from Thailand, though.

My mom had to drive me to school today, since my car is still in the shop, getting repaired after my little accident. She may have to do it again on Wednesday, too. Man...it really sucks not having a car. I used to hate the thought of driving ANYWHERE, and now that I can't, there's all these places I need to go. It's driving me crazy. ...No pun intended.

My bio professor says there's no house centipedes in Australia. Damn you, Australia.

And now I'm off to clean fish tanks. I have to do battle with the cabomba in the 55 gallon yet again. I'm actually not exaggerating when I say it grows 1+ inch per day. So I have to keep trimming it. I'm running out of room to put the new cuttings. Anyone need some free aquatic plants?

So I finally saw Jumper, and it was fun, if not particularly deep and meaningful. But hey. Cute boys. Teleporting. 'Sall good with me. Only I'm hoping Griffin doesn't become the obligatory Tragic Character Death at some point. I was getting vibes. It was alarming.

There's another Maximum Ride book coming out, and the movie is confirmed~ As for casting, as long as Max is pretty and Iggy and Fang are cute, and everyone more or less resembles their character descriptions, I think I'll be happy.

I fell asleep at like 7:00 last night, and woke up at 12:00. And then I couldn't go back to sleep, so I tossed and turned and watched three episodes of Criminal Minds.

Apparantly I'm going to be playing RO again. :D

'Kay, Jumper's not playing at Woburn anymore, but it IS playing in Danvers at the Loews theater in the mall. There's a showing at 3:45 that sounds good. Unfortunately, since I don't know how to GET to the Danvers theater, my mom'll have to drive (because yes, I am still that directionally challenged). And she can't do it today, but she can tomorrow. Does that sound good? Of course, the time might change a little, I'll have to check beforehand.
