I'm in the middle of moving back home after being flooded out over 10 months ago and so my questions are all based around the topics that are uppermost in my mind:
1) What would you rescue if the water was rapidly coming into your home? (after family, pets etc.)
2) You have to completly redesign your lounge, what would you do it like?
3) If you couldn't move back to your home where else would you move?
4) I'm coming to your house rewarming party, what present would you like?

My answers;
1) I rescued my books, hundreds of them :-)
2) My lounge will be very bright, loud and over the top as an antidote
3) I think I'd like to live by the sea
4) I'd like plants, I lost all mine :-(

What are the books that you re-read when you're too tired (or otherwise indisposed) to pick up anything new, but you crave words in a line in front of your eyes to help you relax?

This week we've been having to make decisions about what we want, mum's been posting the fireplaces they've chosen over at dorothy_anne, so here you go

now I need to find the right lights and the coving etc

I've also been buying or at least choosing

I want two small fireside chairs for the backroom, probably 1930s style so I think I'll be trawling the second hand shops for those but I've no idea about seating for the front room, I just know I don't want a sofa measured in acres, I'm not 6'6 so I'd like a sofa that fits me

and then there's colour....

*sigh*

oh and the kitchen...

sorted BT, Sky and O2

got a refund of about £19 from O2 for telling me wrong about text costs, was told 25p not 49p and it's free for the EURO bolt on (anyone with O2 can get thiis for free, you need my europe and a euro bolt on I can explain more if you want)

hopefully to get a discount of £130 from BT too which will be good

and for some reason still wasn't on Sky talk yet, that'll be another fortnight...

also while on hold answered all comments I could find (no notifications happening, anyone know why?)

Today is Friday 10th August, it's 6am right now. Dell is on a plane to Greece, I had a chat with her about 5:20 before she got on the plane. I've been marking ever since. I'm marking those L3 teachers folders, I want to hand this final 3 over later today

This folder is very intense and taking a lot of marking.

7am - Finally done with it just before 7 and now I've had a shower, 2 to go, I'll start on the next one soon.

7:45 about to start, have had breakfast (had to go buy it from larder number 2 as the one below us wasn't open yet)

It's ten to ten, I've finished all the big files, have two individual tasks to mark then that's all completed. I've sorted all my other work out and have that ready to look at, the're a lot easier to mark and check. I'll be collecting the last bits from work when I go in.

When I'm in work I need to

• apply for job


• hand over sick note


• collect list of time off sick


• pass on list of work to be checked (update this first)


• hand over these files for assessing


• collect other files


• look at plans for holiday


• check email


• check lj (if time)


• avoid the boss
