This week we are learning:


· Letter: Ff

· Letters covered: Ll, Tt, Ii, Cc, Aa, Bb, Hh, Oo, Pp

· Math: AB pattern, grouping/sorting, more/less than

· Shape: pentagon

· Shapes covered: circle, triangle, square, star, rectangle, oval, diamond

· Number: nine

· Numbers covered: zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight

· Color: white

· Colors covered: yellow, red, blue, green, orange, black, purple, brown, pink

· Phonics: syllables, rhyming


We will be sending home a Ziploc bag to be used as our “Letter of the week” bag. Please help your child find items around the house that begin with the letter F. On Friday, we will have a show and tell of all the items that each child has found.

This week we will begin working on translations. We will demonstrate an understanding through modeling and sketching them.

Monday--Introduction, definitions, examples
Tuesday--sketching on graph paper, modeling with our bodies
Wednesday--MM pages 113-114
Thursday--MM 115, 118
Friday--assessment on graph paper

This week we will be finishing up with addition and subtraction of decimals and whole numbers.

Monday--MM book pgs. 37-38
Tuesday--decimal worksheet
Wednesday--Test over addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimals.
Thursday--Intro to multiplication of whole numbers ( 3 digit X 2 digit). Hands-on activities
Friday- MM pgs 41-42

This week in math the students will demonstrate an understanding of numbers, operations, and quantitative reasoning. The students will be getting a deeper understanding of fractions and using them in problem-solving situations.
