Dude! millylicious has just posted something very cool. I now have a bit of content for anybody still waiting for the update to Dancing With the Demons. This came about through a request yourlibrarian made and you can now check out the Dancing With the Demons vid!

Just thought I'd pop on and put the word out that 1) I'm still alive 2) DWTD has NOT been abandoned and 3) DWTD will not be returning for a while still!

For those multitudes out there who've been wondering, I started an Occupational Therapy Assistant program in August and I don't think I have ever been so f-ing busy in my life. At least I don't remember being this busy. Of course we tend to remember the good things when we're being nostalgic for past days, so maybe that's it. Of course, I'm also old enough to be nostalgic for past days, and old enough to have a decent number of past days to be nostalgic for, so maybe that's also why I'm not remembering clearly.

Summer went by quick. Really quick. I am back in school already having started an OTA program so things are rather busy. But I just wanted to say to those waiting for news about Dancing With the Demons that I haven't forgotten it, and little bits here and there are continuing to get put together. I just wanted to be sure that once I started posting again I would be able to post through to the end of the story and I'm not there yet. But it's really good to know there are people wanting to see it continue. Sorry things have been so much slower than I expected.

Since I don't have more story for you yet I am going to post something else I think is cool. We have hummingbirds again this year! Here are some pics of those little visitors I hope you'll enjoy.( Warning, large images! )

The cardinal babies are growing quickly but it looks like we've lost one. There were three eggs and three were born but now there's just two babies. They're keeping their parents pretty busy. ( More pics below the cut )

The hatching process (which, according to the book, takes some 12 - 16 hours) occurred overnight. I woke up this morning and at about 8:00 I saw Momma eating something out of the nest-- apparently the eggshells. Later I saw Poppa out there. A little later I saw that both parents were gone and went out to have a peek and sure enough, the babies had hatched and were all curled up together ( much like this )

A few weeks ago I noticed a pair of cardinals fluttering around my balcony with all its plants. Then I noticed a few little twigs and bits of straw in the dwarf lilac I have out there on a shelf right beside my living room window. More twigs and straws accumulated until it finally dawned on me that these cardinals were building a nest in my lilac. Momma cardinal took to sitting on the nest early last week. ( Pics here )

Just a note to everyone reading along here, I'm sorry this episode ended up getting posted late. It's been more difficult to keep up the weekly schedule lately and with upcoming travel and other things I thought it would be better to put the show on hiatus rather than keep running episodes behind. So the next episode will start again at the end of July.

Perhaps in not very good timing I also wanted to thank everyone from the Wanton Folly Awards for the Runner-Up WIP award here. I promise this story won't stay a WIP.
