Think of what you're missing back here:

A story on the late news last night about a brawl that broke out after Australia Day celebrations somewhere in Sydney quoted the word "unAustralian" from at least two bystanders.

I'm thinking of making a t-shirt that says something like: 'better undead than unAustralian'.

Don't forget the leafleting. And the demonstrations outside Parliament house. Protestors saying to the media in a Littly Johnny voice: "It's unAustraaaiyan to be unAustraaaiyan!"

Reminds me of the time, many years ago now, doing ISP tech support. Dealing with people who would happily try to get you fired for as little as a $4 discount, no matter how well you'd treated them.

A friend of mine, who happens to be an arch-conservative, once asserted that "most people want to just be left alone to live their lives, and live to see their grandkids."

For the most part, I agree with that assertion. Unfortunately, that's what turns people into informants..... the promise that the government will let them be left alone in their little solipsistic lives as long as they help to get rid of the bad people who are keeping them from it.
