Operation Take One For The Country

This via boingboing: Operation Take One For The Country is, or purports to be, a loosely organised network of women dedicated to going out and laying US troops before they ship out.

Much as the idea of a posse of sexually-confident women on the prowl appeals to me, there are a couple of things in there that perked up my bullshit detectors, so it's probably either a parody or propaganda to make people think there's a network of women going out and shagging US troops senseless.

First off, there's no-one called Annette Spargas at the Oakland/East Bay chapter of NOW, which includes Berkeley/ Secondly, does anyone except Rush Limbaugh and his diminishing coterie of listeners use the term "femi-nazi", other than ironically? Thirdly, the "interview transcript" is from a station called KDRZ. There's no radio station with that call sign.

I also find it entertaining that periodically the home page comes up saying "Service unavailable". I would guess that's the *real* state of play for the average grunt shipping out

That said, what better way for the Islamic fundamentalists to undermine the war effort? A wave of Mata Haris could probably take out a substantial number of guys before they reach their planes :-)

well, I've been known to use the term "femi-nazi."

I'm curious whether you're talking about people self-identifying as femi-nazis or what? (<-- I dont' think I've ever heard anyone self ID as femi-nazi)

Referring to a comment in the "interview" where an alleged commentator from NOW is referred to as a "femi-nazi".
