Welcome to the Psychiatric Hot Line or TGIF - if you are obsessive compulsive, please press "1" repeatedly. - if you are co-dependent, please go find someone to press "2" for you. - if you suffer from multiple personality disorder, please press "3", "4", "5" and "6". - if you are paranoid-delusional, we know who you are and what you want. Just stay on the line so we can trace the call. - if you are schizophrenic, listen carefully and a little voice will tell you which number to press. - if you are manic-depressive, it doesn't matter which number you press. No one will answer anyway. Current Mood: amused | | Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 | | 2:07 pm |

Join us for a night of music extravaganza, that will include styles as varied as house, italo, triphop, hiphop, funk, soul, ambient, trance, and disco, spread out over 3 floors!
Performers include none other that DJ FM, voted best Triangle DJ in 2006 by Indy readers, eminent local hiphop DJ and producer L In Japanese, as well as Jason Perlmutter (carolinasoul.org), perhaps THE authority on old- and new-school soul and funk from the Carolinas.
In addition, we are very fortunate to have Viva do one of his rare italo sets, as well as first-class DJs Aron Wayne (trance), Fader (triphop, ambient), Rousseau (deep house), and Urafiki (UK house)! All of this for only $5 before 11, or $8 after is an absolute steal!
The detailed lineup:
DANCEFLOOR * DJ FM (Djfm.com, BAD DOG Productions - Raleigh, NC) - funky, techy house * Aron Wayne (Signal, Erectro/Lock - Durham, NC) - house, trance * Rousseau (resident DJ at Kulture, WKNC Afterhours - Raleigh, NC) - deep house * Urafiki (Signal, Connect - Chapel Hill, NC) - deep UK house
3RD FLOOR * L In Japanese (myspace.com/Linjapanesemusic - Chapel Hill, NC / Paris, France) - hiphop, indie, rap
LOUNGE * Jason Perlmutter (carolinasoul.org - Chapel Hill, NC) - soul, funk * Viva (WXDU, Pox World Empire - Durham, NC) - italo, disco * Fader (Independent - Chapel Hill, NC) - triphop, ambient, dub | | Tuesday, September 4th, 2007 | | 1:10 pm |
Cold Stone Creamery - Apex - Sept. 15th *ICE CREAM* Next DJ event, I'll be DJing for the grand opening of the Cold Stone Cremery ice cream store in Apex. Basically it is inside the Beaver Creek place at the corner of Hwy 55 and Hwy 64. Not sure yet *exactly* where it is inside that complex though. Free ice cream and coupons are to be had I've heard. I'll be DJing from 7pm-10pm, I think outside on the patio. http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/2050 Creekside Landing Drive Apex, NC 27502 Update: From the owner: "We will have raffles and such. The big thing is in the morning. First 50 in line get a free cake on their birthday, and first 200 get a t-shirt. Also, 50% of sales will go to a local school of their choice. Plus, everyone will get some bounceback coupons to use in the store." Current Mood: giddy | | Friday, August 31st, 2007 | | 1:36 pm |
Boulder, CO Well I flew out to Denver, CO on August 12th for two weeks for work. Went to the Longmont Amateur Radio Club (LARC) one night and saw a demo of Ham Radio Deluxe, http://hrd.ham-radio.ch/, software that can control your radio and make it do all kinds of cool stuff, integrated with Satellite tracking, DX cluster, QRZ, etc... and got a CD of it too. Over the weekend, Courtney flew in and we drove through the Continental Divide http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenhower_Tunnel and rode on the Leadville, Colorado & Southern railway, http://www.leadville-train.com/ up around 10,000 feet. It was pretty cool, relaxing, nice views. After that we drove to my cousin's place in Alma, CO and had dinner in South Park. :) We got back to the hotel in Longmont really late and I felt dizzy from driving in all the mountains. On Sunday we went to the Denver Zoo and to Boulder later on. The next week, in amongst eating dinner with my co-workers, I managed to go to the Boulder ARC one night and saw a $9000 tube amplifier. http://www.alpharadioproducts.com/9500.aspWhile I was gone, I didn't check my home e-mail and so it all piled up. I'm now finally starting to feel remotely caught up back home. Oh and we got a new garage door installed today, another $1000 in debt. The old was starting to buckle in and wouldn't close anymore. Cheap door. Current Mood: tired | | Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 | | 10:17 am |

Food allergies suck. So we had Graham tested about a month ago. They drew his blood (which I heard was a harrowing experience for Courtney). Anyway, he came back allergic to eggs and cats. But even worse was soy. We started looking at the ingredients list of foods and soy is practically in EVERYTHING!!! Well, we got some stuff from Whole Foods in Cary and since we've been watching what he eats, his eczema has cleared up around his elbows and knees. Hopefully he'll grow out of this. But in the meantime, this really restricts where we can take him to eat and etc... So much for the fries. :( Current Mood: annoyed | | Monday, July 23rd, 2007 | | 9:23 am |

Generations: The History of America's Future, 1584 to 2069 Some of you may know that I have an interest in history. One aspect of history that I am fascinated with is generations of people. 1974 was one of the lowest birth years in the United States. Therefore a lot of people I know are either older or younger than me. I came across this book probably about a decade ago and have recently checked it out again. I found it to be really compelling about my "generation", Gen-X and about my parents and about kids younger than me. And so I'm sharing this tidbit about myself since I felt that I don't post/blog much about me and just seem to lurk but have appreciated all of your posts about yourselves. :) Thanks! -Rob Generations: The History of America's Future, 1584 to 2069 | | Monday, May 21st, 2007 | | 4:03 pm |
