The 4th on the 7th & new LJ header
Well, finally had the 4th of July celebration with the family tonight. Two of my cousins still weren't able to come... God I hate this divorce. We all hate this divorce. But since the new marriages, it's even worse. We still haven't even met the new wife, she doesn't want to have anything to do with the family... or the kids! For crying out loud, what's wrong with that woman, marrying into a family that's very close if she want's nothing to do with us? Or the better question is, what was he thinking marrying a woman who want's nothing to do with his family or kids?! But anyways, I digress. The fireworks were pretty awesome. A lot of them had debris, so that was interesting. A couple were almost duds and exploded way to close to the ground... that was double interesting. It was really fun though. Except when my one cousin got extra hyper (he has ADHD) and kept trying to light my pants on fire with sparklers. Still, really fun though.

Also, spent the afternoon making a new header for my LJ to reflect my obsession. ^_^ I'm pretty proud of it. It's way bigger, file size wise, than I would like, but oh well. Not many will see it probably anyways, so as long as it makes me happy, that's what counts right?

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

Anakin Skywalker
Struggling for self-assurance over hidden angst, you are highly adept and full of surprises.
I find your lack of faith disturbing.

*giggles* I took this test while watching Jumper and I scored a Hayden Christensen character. :P

Speaking of Jumper... I'm obsessed. I love Griffin. I'm beginning to think I have a thing for smartasses. >_

To all my friends in the States...

glitter-graphics.com
Be safe and have fun!

My plans for today? Pick blackberries so that we can have a blackberry cobbler, do some grilling, play with some of the daytime fireworks, have a snow cone, stay in the A/C, watch tv/mess around on the computer...
Then at 7-ish I'm going to my best friend's house to blow stuff up. ^_^ She bought over $100 in fireworks. O_o Wonder what we'll almost destroy this year... three years ago we almost blew up an old car that we didn't know still had gas in it and two years ago we almost caught the barn on fire, and as always, we traumatize the fish and frogs in her pond with water dynamite. It's sorta our little tradition. >:P
And after I get back home, mum and I are gonna shoot off our fireworks.

And sometime this weekend or something my uncle is gonna have a late 4th thing. Most of the family is off somewhere doing something today, so he's putting of his 4th celebration until everyone can come. Which is for the best, 'cause I have yet to master the art of being in two places at once and I'd have to disappoint someone, which I can't stand to do.

FOB is brokeded :'(
Ugh! I've had the Fall Out Boy: Live in Phoenix DVD in my Netflix queue for like a month or two now, waiting on it to become available (it's availability was "very long wait", which usually means it'll be months before it becomes available) and finally it was shipped to me Wednesday and was supposed to arrive Saturday. Well, I finally got it today, slid it out of the sleeve... and it comes out in two crackled pieces! OMGWTFNOOOO! The first time I ever receive a broken disk and it ends up being one that is currently difficult to get. *facepalm* Who knows how long it'll be before another one becomes available.

Oh well, at least I have the Season 1 box set of the Dukes of Hazzard that I was finally able to get (Wal-Mart's been out of them for like a month now... at least every time I was in there, they were out) yesterday to watch and keep my mind off of it. \o/ *huggles DoH DVDs* I guess that's why I'm not anywhere near as upset about the FOB DVD as I would normally be.

The Dukes keep me sane! And happy. ^_^ lol

Even if sometimes you'd like to have more courage to put on something absolutely outrageous you do great job in creating a unique look that others look up to. Cars and Boys ^_^
I've been watching a lot of Dukes of Hazzard lately and have found my self thinking "the General Lee is just the most awesome car ever!". But then I remembered the Impala Metallicar. Now I can't decide between the two. I believe this calls for a poll. ^_^

Which is better?

Does this mean I have a kink for two boys, somehow closely related, in a really awesome car? X_X

CBS.com- MacGyver, Star Trek, Jericho...
After hearing that The Unit has been renewed (for at least 13 eps) but may be moved to Moonlight's spot on Friday's I decided to go over to CBS.com to see if they had anything about it there. I start to click on the link for The Unit when I see... MacGyver? Click on his pic and it says "MacGyver Now on CBS.com". Apparently now you can watch "TV classics" on the website... MacGyver, Star Trek: The Original Series, The Twilight Zone, The Love Boat, just to name a few. Jericho is even on the list, but not in the Primetime list. Does that mean Jericho isn't going to have another season?

Never follow the instructions!
So we decided to replace all the two-prong plug-ins in mt room with three prong ones, including the one with my light switch in it. Got all the but the one with the light switch in with little to no problem. The one with the light switch however, it was done differently so we decided to consult the instructions. Which was a huge mistake. There were four sets of instructions, two for if you have a ground wire, two for if you don't. And all of them were confusing as hell. We followed the first set of instructions for without a ground wire and it made the light stay on constantly. Used the other set of instructions and the light would work, but the plug-in wouldn't. I noticed that in a bit of fine print it said to remove this one little piece of metal, so we did. Still wouldn't work properly.

Finally decide to do away with the instructions and try putting the wires the way that they were on the other switch. Plug-in still wouldn't work. I got too looking at it and wondering if the little piece of metal that we had removed as per the instructions didn't need to be removed after all. Wedged it back in... whatcha ya know? It works! *head/wall* A bit of electrical tape and some Southern riggin' and I got the little bit of metal back where it's supposed to be. Tested it... it's good. Stuffed it all back in the wall, plugged the bar for the computer into it to make sure that everything is still good... it is. \o/ But it sparked a bit. No big deal though, it sparks most of the time, anywhere you plug it in.

Go to turn on the computer about three hours later... nothing! Dunno if it shorted out or the bit of metal managed to get loose or what, but the plug-in won't work now. Ack! The light switch still works perfectly though. I never pay any mind to instructions, never have much use for them cause they usually cause more problems than help. But for some reason I decided to look at the instructions and they screwed everything up! Never again!

Anyways, I decided to watch a couple of my fave Eddie Izzard vids that are semi-related to cheer myself up. Have a look... >;D (note: the f-word is used a lot, so it probably shouldn't be watched around children or at work.)

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Neutral. Not Northern, Southern, or Western, just American. Your national American identity is more important to you than your local identity, because you don't really have a local identity to begin with.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

I could have told you that. :P

Need computer help asap!
Ok, so I finally decided to crash and reload my laptop since it had gotten so slow that I couldn't stand to use it anyways. Got the XP OS on it just fine but when I tried to get the HP recovery stuff to load on, like usual, I can't get it to go. It'll say "Starting..." and then lists a whole bunch of info on the CD-ROM and RAM drive and everything (which is not how it usually starts) and then says something about "Drive Q: = Driver USBCDROM unit 0" and then "CDR104: Door open reading drive Q Abort, Retry, Fail?". First off, I don't have a Drive Q. And you can hit Retry until your finger falls off and it just gives you the same prompt. Abort and Fail gives you the C:\> prompt.

Help, what do I do?! I really need the stuff (Word and Photo Impression, mainly) that's on those disks. What's gone wrong?

I can has blue stuff and bed nau?
Owww. Everywhere hurts. Last night I decided to change my room up, like I had been talking about for a few months now. Put my bed against the far wall, under the air conditioner, and everything else against the walls so that the middle was empty and my room didn't look so cluttered. Well, as with everything in life, it was easier said than done. Couldn't get my bed to turn around, so I ended up having to disassemble the entire thing (and of course the screws didn't want to come out easily) move the pieces around and then reassemble the whole thing and glue a piece that had come unwelded. OMG what a job. But I finally got it done and into bed by 12:30 am. Took a while to get to sleep, everything felt weird and wrong. Me and change don't go well together, but I'll get use to it. And even though it feels weird, I'm still v. happy with it. And I don't know if it was gluing that piece or what but my bed doesn't squeak every time you move any more! \o/ Huge YAY for that.

When I woke up this morning, at 9, I could hardly move. But, had to just grit my teeth and move on cause we had to get the rest of the garden in today. So, I tilled about 50 feet or so worth of garden today. The tiller only tills about 1 1/2 feet at a time and I had to go over everything twice to get it tilled good enough. And it's the devil to get it to turn around. Anyways, I have a few friction burns on my hands. The worst one, on my left hand, made about 1/3 of my hand swell up but after applying ice and a nap, most of the swelling is gone. But after my nap, it became apparent that I have sunburn on my shoulders and face. Not bad, but enough to make me constantly feel hot. I need some blue sunburn stuff slathered on my shoulders.

Anyways, now it really hurts to move. I can't even walk or get up off the couch without whimpering. But in the end it's all worth it. My room is about 70% the way that I want it and we'll have a ton of fresh veggies this summer. \o/ Ah, the country life. :P

Also, who noticed Claudia Black Vala on Moonlight?

I should really start ignoring my curiosity
Last night I was surfing around my communities, looking for some good fics to read, and I stumbled across a post where someone had done this meme-type-ish fic writing exercise where you put your iTunes or whatever on shuffle and you had to write a fic for each song while the song was playing, no replaying the songs or pausing or anything. None of the fics were in my rating range preference, so I didn't read any of them, but I got on YouTube and looked up a few of the songs. In retrospect, that may have been somewhat of a bad move 'cause now a couple of them have eaten my brain and I can't stop watching the music vids!

This first one is the main one that has eaten my brain. I even have it on my MP3 player now and have listened to it... well, I've lost track of how many times. More times than I care to admit, in any case. The circus people freaked me out at first, but you get used to it. And OMG the groom is so very hott!!! Anyone happen to know who he is? Nevermind, I found out who he is... his name is Daniel Isaac.
I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! at the Disco

*giggles* I have this urge to do an SG-1 vid with this song using the wedding scenes from 200. >;D

The other, I believe the main appeal for me is Pete as a vampire. My god that boy is hot. And being a vamp just increases his hotness 10x!
A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me - Fall Out Boy

Must get away from the computer and MP3 player before those two vids and that song turns my brain into goo!

Does it ever end?!
Guy just delivered the propane. Went out to check that everything was shut off properly 'cause my uncle said that our propane guy had taken to leaving valves open so that the propane would leak out slowly and you'd have to call him again sooner. Everything was shut off properly, but I could hear/smell gas escaping. It's the gauge! The propane is leaking out from around the gauge BAD! Does the problems never end?

Jeez, I think it would have just been cheaper and less hassle to go electric!

ETA: Got the leak stopped! We have hot water again! \o/ And I got my shower. ^_^

Bad Things Happen in Threes Update
Well, my cellphone is still hanging in there. I guess it just decided it felt left out and should join in on the whole day going wrong thing.

The car was fixed fairly quickly and easily. Turned out it was the battery. A few of the cells were low on water which caused a glitch and therefore it wouldn't hold the charge. Put a bit of water in and it works perfectly now. Will have to replace the battery soon though, one of the cells is completely dead and another is on it's way there. It's all good though... the battery has a 3 year warranty, so as long as it goes dead on us again within the next year and a half or so, we're golden. So much for EverStart though, huh? lol

The propane thing we weren't so lucky on, however. We never could find the exact source of the leak, but no matter, we had already planned on running all new pipe if the other was bad. So, we did. 2 days of work and $80 later, we're back up and running. Well, as far as everything being plumbed in goes. Still waiting on the propane man to get here and give us some propane. Apparently he's getting around very slow today. We left a message on his machine yesterday evening about needing propane and to call us back, he finally got around to it at 8 this morning. Figured he'd get here pretty quickly, but I guess not since I'm still waiting. Just as long as he gets it here today! We've been without hot water for 5 days... I've taken 1 cold shower (which is 1 too many as far as I'm concerned) and 1 shower at my aunt and uncle's house (I hate showering anywhere but in my own shower!)... I want hot water NOW! I need another shower and I want it to be in the comfort of my own home and not cold!

I did get to spend some time with my two youngest cousins yesterday, which was cool. Apparently, they best way to entertain kids under 10 is to pull them around in the cart that attaches to the lawnmower. Sort of a mini hayride, without the hay. :P That's what we spent most of they day doing... apparently it never gets old. We went all over the 10 acres. We all got a sunburn. Still, it was really fun. And it makes you feel v. good when they beg not to leave. ^_^

ETA: Also, I am addicted to Powerade! Like omgitsmycrack! addicted. I need help.

Ya know how bad things happen in threes?
Yeah, well...
1. There's a hole somewhere in the piping, and over the past week and 3 days, 9 months or more worth of propane has leaked out it. So, we're hot waterless
2. Something is wrong with the car and it won't start. And it appears that the pretty much brand new battery won't hold a charge anymore
3. My cell is going senile on me. It keeps freezing up and turns off for no apparent reason and then acts like the battery has been disconnected

And, it's only 8:30 AM!

Behind the cut to spare anyone who doesn't want to hear teh story/whining )

ETA: Looking over all this again, I'm seeing a pattern... all these things started on/stemmed from events from that 3 day period when my aunt was up here and we were fixing the bathroom! WTF is going on?!

ETA #2: Maybe this is the universe's way of evening things out. The repairs on the bathroom should have costed a ton, especially if we had hired someone to do it. But, since my uncle fixed it for us and used a bunch of stuff that he had lying around so that we didn't have to buy new, it only cost us about $70 to replace the floor, toilet pipe, splice the major house beam that was rotted in two, put a shower drain in... all of that. Jeez. My uncle's kindness/stubbornness is sure costing us now! And we thought we were getting away cheap.
