I have a lot of news, and if I put it in one post it would be hideously long. So in order to spare your scroll buttons (or your click-and-scroll if your mouse lacks the proper scrolling appendage) here it is in summary.
Since the last time I posted....
Headlines -
MEGAN GOT MARRIED.
severedscythe, tangerinedreams - I didn't tell you!! *facepalm* I am supremely sorry and beg forgiveness..... This event is gigantically awesome and important - I will be posting in detail at a later date.
In other news
I graduated. There will be a highlights post another time.
Ooh, ooh....and I am planning to go to Fiji in late October with my friend Jodie. More news on this developement as it breaks....
sport and weather and random other things
Queensland thrashed the living daylights out of NSW won Origin 2. As tangerinedreams so eloquently put it - oh, boys! Much, much love. And with such a score I will be gloating right up until Origin 3 kick-off. ( mdu_ntr, who is sitting next to me, has just informed me we were thrahsed in game 1. A thrashing has been had by all! And now may the blues be thrashed again!)
A little while it go it rained. A LOT. (Nambour got over 160mm in one night) Which caused the gutter to FAIL. I blame the bloody great mango tree in our front yard which constantly tries to asphyxiate it with leaves. Anyway there was a waterfall outside the front door - and the water that splashed inside turned into a giant puddle that ran the length of our study. The cord from the iron had to be rescued and dried, I had to throw out two sketchbooks and a notebook too waterlogged to use (and they were brand new...GRRRRR) and my flatmate Carly and I used 6-8 towels to mop it all up.
After random gurgling noises in the bathroom sink, and an occasional strange smell, my other flatmate Gnome discovered that our plumbing had not only thrown a tantrum but done so in spectacular fashion. Which led to a lot of crappy humour (pun intended) and the necessity for me to harass mdu_ntr for use of her shower and overnight accomodation while the crisis was rectified. She is an absolute legend.
She is also a SOTE addict. Maybe it's intervention time? Nah, if I do that she'll ticklepoke me (Chrystle-and-Emmaism : a tickle attack and poke attack combined)...probably not a good idea
Chrystle: allow me to demonstrate Emma: *squeals and flails*

...or so said Jordan S, anyway, when I bumped into him as I prepared to get lost in Nambour Woolworths.
One thing I have begun to notice about Nambour is you always seem to run into someone you know even when doing the most mundane things. So far I've seen people on two out of my three trips to Nambour Plaza.
The first week in the new place has been good so far. I am finally unpacked - well, apart from a few random things in my room that i am yet to find a home for. Tammy's old bed is really comfortable - I've been sleeping fairly deeply all week. The only bad thing was that the people who used to own the house neglected to fix the hot water system, so Tammy (who is staying with me until the other girls move in so I'm not on my own) and I had no hot water until thursday night. Cold showers are OK when it is hot, but washing my hair when the water is freezing is not one of my favourite things, believe me. BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
The house has a massive verandah - I've missed having a verandah. And a pretty big kitchen too, which is good for someone with enough crockery and cutlery to set a table for a small army. There is also a study area and I have my desk near a window - a view always tends to make me feel more creative.
Speaking of creative...I am itching to start a big drawing or painting project and I have the next three days off....eeeexcellent.
I am currently at Chrsytle's - we are going to go old school and have a 'sleepover' at my house later. Whether or not we sleep much is yet to be determined - we may end up staying up 'til the early hours drawing/writing/other arty stuff like we did when i was staying with her.
Which reminds me, I really should get her thankyou-for-letting-me-take-over-her-room-for-two-weeks picture finished...I really should find a light-purple ink pen...

<3 + MASSIVE kudos to mdu_ntrfor my lovely new journal page!
She spent three hours at least doing the code for me and suggesting colour schemes. Seriously, everything on that page is her handiwork. The sunset photo belongs to me - she spent quite a while figuring out how to link to the original on deviantART without it being huge and fuzzy - what a clever cookie....
And yes, the person who seems to be sticking green glow candles up their nose is yours truly...I was putting new photos up at my Mystalk page and got inspired....

I am still staying with mdu_ntr being - in her words - a "live-in friend". It's been great - last saturday we stayed up late - really late. So late in fact that I looked up and realised the sky was getting light and the birds were singing...
...actually I think we've done so twice....
Anyway, it's been heaps of fun. She world-builds, which is great because I have decided to attempt to create a world of my own and write at least once story from it as a writing exercise.
I spent our second all-nighter discussing the plot (and the finer points of map drawing and geography because she is WAAAY better at that stuff) with Chrystle. I still need to actually DRAW a proper map, name the countries/towns/pretty much everything and fine-tune character ideas and other various bits, but when i am done with that I will probably put it up at fancy_scribblesand probably on deviantART was well.
Oops, i just spilt a combination of orange softdrink and cola on the carpet - AAAAAUUGH! Thank goodness for Chrystle and the power of orange-based cleaning spray!
We've also been writing and drawing as well. We've got a comic going called "The Paintbrush Kids" (plotline - Emma, Chrystle and sometimes various others have random adventures with the help of magic paintbrushes that make anything we draw REAL) and are considering putting them up on an account here eventually....
Oh, and we've been giggling at random stuff on the net. If you have some spare time I recommend going to the video clip library of Doom and typing in either "stickman on crack", "animator vs animation" or "potter puppet pals". Although in the case of the latter here would be more helpful....
(WARNING: "Bothering" people is quite addictive...)
Yes, we have too much time on our hands....
We are probably going to be up late agin tonight too -- we are going to watch "The Hogfather" and have only just managed to download the appropriate software....
Bring on the sleep deprivation....

...brought to you by a jar of humbug lollies, Minti (aka Cat) the super-stretchy feline and an incontinent, cherry-blossom-scented candle that just leaked wax all over the kitchen table.
And in other news...
I moved out of Chancellor Park on Thursday. Our lease expired and since Tammy was already moving, Rach and I both decided to leave. Originally I was going to try and find something in Maroochydore or Alex with Kristen, one of my mates from uni - but a month before my lease was up she had to bail due to lack of $$$. After a week and a half of "OMG Where am I going to LIVE..." Tammy came to my rescue and as of the 9th I will be sharing a house in Nambour with Nome and Carlie.
Until then I am staying with Chrystle ( mdu_ntr ), who lives down the road from the unit I just vacated. There is also a big pile of my stuff which is threatening to take over her living room (mental note - must do something about that). The Cat loves me - it followed me around all morning purring while I was getting ready for work . It was very cute so I suppose I can forgive him for stealing my loofah when I first moved in.
So far it's been awesome. Last night Chrystle showed me not only this foxy little comic, but also some stickman gore amusement, and tonight we've been painting glass bottles. I now have some lovely hippy rainbow vases to decorate the new place with.
