| I'm all caught up on my book reviewing. |
[11 Jan 2008|12:03am] |
New book reviews here. 2007 book totals and best and worst list to come in the next few days.
I was surprised at how much I liked the movie Eastern Promises. I hated History of Violence and could care less about mafia movies. I hope there will be a sequel.
I'm loving the new Sense and Sensibility mini-series. It's not the most accurate adaption ever but Colonel Brandon has an expanded role so I'm sold.

| I Love Politics! |
[09 Jan 2008|12:14am] |
It's sad that men in the media (Chris Matthews) simply cannot understand that Hillary won tonight because women want to see her win badly. And the sexist media smear campaign against her in the past few days drove women out in big numbers because we can all identify with being insulted in the same way she has been.
I'm also happy for McCain. It would be totally insulting for a man of substance like McCain to loose to someone like Romney.

| Lost Theory |
[16 Dec 2007|09:56pm] |
Finished watching the Lost season 3 DVDs over the weekend. This season is much better when you can fast forward through all the pointless Jack backs and every scene containing Niki and Palo. I even managed to get nayami addicted to Lost again. She gave up somewhere in season 2. Can’t really blame her. Thankfully season 3 fully regained season 1's awesome.
Locke and Ben are the best frenimies ever.
( Lost theory. Spoilers for most of season 3. )
I can’t wait until season 4 starts on Jan. 31st. Even if it is only for 8 episodes.
Now back to studying for my finals.

| Busy. Busy. Busy. |
[16 Nov 2007|11:28pm] |
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been training for a new job while still working my old one. I also had a paper and a mid-term this week.
I did manage to post some book reviews even though I haven't been doing much reading lately. Maybe I'll blow off my homework and read the Buffy season 8 graphic novel tonight. Or maybe the latest Blackdagger Brotherhood book. I'm in the mood for a laugh.
Also, I kind of love Moonlight. Don't judge me.
ETA: This is going to be beyond terrible. I'm so there.

| I'm calling bullshit. |
[12 Nov 2007|12:17am] |
|
Could Days of Our Lives be any more racist in their hiring and firing practices?! Renee Jones (Lexie) has just been let go again! Yes, Again! Whenever the show's budget is cut the AA actors are always the first to go. I hope they don't fire James Reynolds (Abe) too. He's the best actor on that show even though they only give him two bland scenes a month. -_- Sometimes I really wish Days would just die already. This is one of those times.

| Pushing Daisies <3 |
[10 Oct 2007|10:45pm] |
Pushing Daisies is my favorite show on tv right now. Yes, I am a sheep.
I'm attempting to make a top from Vogue Knitting. My knitting skills are minimal so I hope I'm not in over my head.
I have yet to finish one book this month. I blame Highlander.

| Review catch up, fantasy novels. |
[26 Sep 2007|09:21pm] |
I finally managed to catch up with my book reviews. There are 10 new reviews and every review on the front page is new. I also updated my list of upcomming books.
Before I started reading romance I use to read a lot of fantasy novels. I'm not reading them as much anymore but I'm still buying them at a steady rate. So I'm going to make a goal to read 4 fantasy/sci-fi novels a month. Am reading Giants of the Frost by Kim Wilkins now. It's good so far.

I just spent 102$ on Highlander seasons 3-6. Am banned from internet shopping for infinity years.

| Highlander: The Source, Heartsick |
[16 Sep 2007|10:30pm] |
I was pleasantly surprised that the latest Highlander movie didn't suck. There were a few things that got on my nerves but the movie was pretty awesome. I'd watch it again which is more than I can say about the last one they made.
I just finished reading my second five star book of the year. It's Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. Review to come whenever I get around to going though my increasingly large review backlog.

| Life update |
[10 Sep 2007|09:54pm] |
My little brother was taken to rehab last weekend. My stress level has gone way down as a result.
My mother injured her back and had to spend some time in the hospital this weekend. My knee has been giving me trouble lately too. So we’re both going on the curves diet. It has a meal plan I won’t be miserable on and lots of yummy low fat recipes.
Am in a bit of a book rut. The new Elizabeth Hoyt isn’t grabbing me as much as her first two. I also have a lot of reviews to write up. Here are my reading totals for August:
1. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer, 4 ½ 2. And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander, 4 3. Jinx by Meg Cabot, 3 ½ 4. On the Prowl by Patricia Briggs etc., 3 ½ 5. Another Eden by Patricia Gaffney, 4 6. A Secret Rage by Charlaine Harris, 3 ½ 7. The Princess and the Hound by Mette Ivie Harrison, 3 ½

| Still no internet |
[13 Aug 2007|02:42pm] |
Comcast is suppose to come out for the second time today to fix our internet. I'll believe it when I see it.
Read Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. I noticed no significant drop in quality but I seem to be in the minority on that opinion.
The Patricia Briggs story in On The Prowl was quite good. Am struggling to finish the rest of the anthology.
I'm also reading a victorian era mystery called And Only to Deceive. I am enjoying it very much.
I have a job interview and a final this week. Don't know which I dread more.
