in honor of joannanem.
i have one week left at my internship.
i have one final left.
my supervisor evaluated me as a 5/5.
my mom, dad, and BOTH! brothers can come to graduation.
my professor wants me to submit my thesis to be considered for an award at graduation.
i have a massage scheduled at bliss tomorrow afternoon and then dinner at supper, where i've never been and always wanted to go, with some great company.
i'm scheduling an apartment-viewing for this weekend, which is one of the up-in-the-air aspects of my life. also included: passing the licensing exam to make me a real social worker, and securing a job stepping me up and towards my career. i am fortunate because i have a steady paycheck and health insurance in the meantime.
i'm looking forward to getting back to a regular gym schedule.
i'm pretty pleased with my dating life.

i'm pretty pleased with life, in toto.
and i'm TOTALLY enamored with/of 'how i met your mother'.

i turn 25 in july. i'm probably going to make it a pretty big deal.

"one property that families share with other complex systems is that they don't change in a smooth, gradual process of evolution, but rather in discontinuous leaps. falling in love and political revolutions are examples of such leaps."

there's a lot giong on.
i try to read you guys every day; i've almost abandoned communities.
i have two huge papers to conquer before i can almost maybe relax and see the light at the end of the tunnel. i'm having a hard time keeping up, but i'm trying trying trying.

once i fall into a regular routine, with time and space, i can't wait to explore.

adrian get out of my brain
parting gift
fiona apple

i opened my eyes while you were kissing me once
more than once
and you looked as sincere as a dog
just as sincere as a dog does
when it's the food on your lips with which it's in love

i bet you could never tell
that i knew you didn't know me that well
it is my fault you see
you never learned that much from me

oh, you silly, stupid pastime of mine!
you were always good for a rhyme
and from the first to the last time the signs said 'stop' -
but we went on whole-hearted
it ended bad, but i love what we started
it said 'stop' - but we went on whole-hearted
it ended bad, but i love what we started

i took off my glasses while you were yelling at me once
more than once
so as not to see you see me react
should've put 'em, should've put 'em on again
so i could see you see me sincerely yelling back.

i bet your fortressed face
belied your fort of lace
it is by the grace of me
you never learned what i could see

oh, you silly, stupid pastime of mine!
you were always good for a rhyme
and from the first to all the last times, all the signs said 'stop' -
but we went on whole-hearted
it ended bad, but i love what we started

basically, i need to be out of the country between graduation and grownupjob™.
don't know where, don't exactly care, need an adventure, maybe africa?
think of ideas for me.

ETA:
i also need to be sure that i hit up all the NYC tourist spots by the end of this calendar year, in case it's my last. i've never been to the bronx zoo, i need to see every inch of central park, experience art at the BAM...
there's another list i need to make before graduation.

michael's friends of a friend are staying in our apartment prior to their return to mozambique.
i am now on my third repeat of the new 'the l word' episode in my room, alone with the door closed, "working on a paper".*

this episode happens to have a fair amount of sex in it, sex which creates loud noises from the female characters.

i wonder what they think is going on in here.
makes me smirk.

*i really am working on a paper. i like having the TV on because it shuts out the white noise in my mind that distracts me from focusing on the paper. not as focus-inducing when it's this show, but into it's third viewing, i can focus on working a little more...

my kitty is: actually paper-writting.

happy new year, y'all.
a beautiful christmas-time, a celebratory new year's, a gentle re-integration to the grind.

there is lots to say. i hope to write it soon (including your missing holiday cards), although i have a paper due next week and my books are somewhere in jersey.

i love following along with all of your lives and i hope that you continue to do well, or at least as well as you can.
