Sonic Boss
Well, I've been thinking about it and tonight I just decided to do it. Here is my quick and dirty recording of the Boss song from Sonic the Hedgehog 1. Notice my guitar has trouble playing certain high notes and that I didn't care to record any of the tracks more than once (in other words, there are mistakes). There's also another track in the original that I didn't record because, well, I'm just using my little 4-track recorder.

UPDATE! NEW VERSION!
I just finished "mastering" a new version I re-recorded today since my last one was just so horrible. This time I used my Ibanez RG. I also added the track I left out in the last one by recording it on the drum track and adding the drums on the computer. The problem was that tape seems to play back at a variable rate, so I had to stretch out the drum track wave to fit the wave from the tape. Turned out alright. It's still not the final version though. ; )

speed it up twice the speed in some places and put a sogn around it and that is like 10/10! make a cd with classic video game songs as the basis of the tracks. hot damn that was good! great distortion!

as much as i'd like to satisfy your need for speed, i'd rather keep it the speed of the original. no songs either, but if i do a better version i'm going to rearrange it a little more to make it a little more interesting and possibly add stuff.

there's a plugin for winamp to control the speed of songs. then you can make everything faster!

theres actually a band called the advantage that only cover nintendo game songs. they even got a gig at Nickel City. I dig this though. what were you tuned to for the heavy backgroudn part?

The Avdantage, Minibosses, NESkimos, etc etc. They're all good. Most of them stick to NES and I think there's great music with the 16,32-bit consoles... it's just harder to do live (there are more channels).

I like this too, and it could be a lot better. My guitar is already tuned to "standard B" (has been for a while) and it turns out that's the perfect tuning for this song, I didn't have to change anything.
