leaving for work at 6:45am and getting home at 9:30pm. SUX.
mind you I got a very tasty free dinner out of it, but still. BLOWZ.

This project is going to be way interesting. More observations to come at another time.

thanks for all the friendly im's today - even tho I mostly wasn't in front of my computer, or able to chat if i was.

this week is going to be long but it will make this weekend just that much sweeter

happy monday kiddies

early SUCKS
I'm also cold, damp and exhausted
in Herndon
I love the random sunday phone calls I get, like when *someone* calls to find out where a cock ring goes so they can get it right on the penis cake they made. mmmm fruit by the foot.

I can't decide if I should start sharing more or less and with whom. That applies to two totally different things. And way to be monday morning vague I know.

waiting for coworkers. Maybe I can catch a nap at lunch. I'm sure I'll wake up when lovely lilting accents start crossing my brainwaves this morning.

have I mentioned the suck of the early? well hopefully this means a good night's sleep for me tonight at least.

i'm sooooo going to happy hour this week.

disney in 16 days.

i promise more cohesive thoughts, or at least sentence structure, in the future.

mondays. blargh.

sleep study @ 07:07 am

Current Mood: sleepy

So this morning I look like I have a hickey on my neck and cum in my hair. Coming home on the metro in my pj pants was a trip. Oh what people must have thought of me! And yet, I didn't really care :)

Walking up the street in the cool damp dark was kind of a nice way to start the day. Until I started to sweat that is :)

And my hands REEK of hospital.

Forgot to post before leaving. Sleep study tonight - drop me an email if you love me.
Lunch with new brian today was awesome. I love oldskewl peeps you can catch right back up with. Tomorrow - cable guy, more cleaning, doing work I slacked on today, dinner with kayla
Thursday - furniture delivery and happy hour

Also - craziest thing. Just ran into my next door neighbor. (He started talking to me on the street and it took me a second to stop blowing him off). He either needs friends in the area or just asked me out. Would you go out for coffee/a meal with a neighbor in your apt building?

De rien ma chere @ 09:35 am

I dreamed this morning. I haven't had a dream I remember in weeks. I was in europe and must have been in france hanging out with this girl who reminds me a lot of my french coworker. But nicer. And she was shocked and impressed that I could order my drink in french.

mmmmm ordering fancy beverages in paris.

I really wish I had the clean apartment, but more importantly, the money, to run away from home this weekend.

couple of quick things
1) I'm up and have already gotten a document out to my team captain :) This is making me feel like a more productive work member of my team. This is good for not sucking at life.
2) I don't suck at life. But there are areas where I am striving for continuous improvement, to use some business crap language.
3) I'm going to the gym because its the best way to stretch out my back this morning. I also need to join a gym and find a yoga class. That would also be good for my back and me being a twisty bobcat pretzel lady.
4) My nipples aren't really greeters. They never want to be out and about saying hi to the world. Yet somehow, when I squish them into the super-restrictiveness that is my sportsbra - they suddenly want to meet everyone.
5) Its thursday and I get to go to happy hour!

In other news, sleep study and cable guy scheduled for next week. Lots more personal and work crap to get out of the way today and tomorrow but i'm feeling better about it already.

I'll be back after breakfast :)

kisses kiddies!
happy thursday
(and yes, I am full of PEP today. Kayla, I will refrain from speaking to you until I've calmed down some)

It makes me nervous when W. tells us that the FDIC isn't going anywhere.
It either concerns me that it *might* be going somewhere - or that speechwriters think that Americans are *that* dumb that they don't know what it is. I'm not sure which is scarier.

Of course, this is after sitting at camp and learning that someone didn't know what Gitmo was. And after explaining that it was Guantanamo Bay, they still didn't know what it was. Nerrrrvous.

Also, I don't want my president blessing me on behalf of god.

Thus ends my politicalness for tonight.

(ps if the world really is coming to an end - i'm fucked)

also - on my mid-day bus excursion today - the guy across from me totally had an ankle bracelet on. And I don't mean the shiney gold kind. I mean the kind that's being monitored by your parole officer.

Hatemk wedding goodness @ 05:25 pm

This weekend I went to a wedding in the midwest! It was lots of fun :)
the midwest is not so scary )

Anyways made it home way late, have been tired today -but such is life.

I have *lots* of work to get done this week which i really need to pick up getting done as I'm starting to get questions I can't avoid much longer.

I am *very* excited that by the end of october Beth and I are going to be working down here together! wheeeee!

Tomorrow I go to the cardiologist, Wednesday I call about my sleep study, and then this weekend I'm grounding myself. My apartment is a HOLE. I have boxes to unpack and furniture needing to finish being assembled and things I've forgotten about that need doing. By monday I need to be a normal functioning member of society so I'm eschewing socializing this weekend for that. I promise to be fun in the future.

big hugs and kisses

Tonight I got my statused ass on an oversold flight so that I get home tonight. Sure its a middle seat in the last row but its MINE. I also have to now rent a car at bwi but that was almost a third as much as a room at ord tonight. Wedding was great. Didn't appropriately say goodbye to people but I'll apologize profusely for that this week. Fingers crossed my flight goes as planned.
More tomorrow. Kisses kiddies!!

last night happy hour was very fun.

I *really* like the ability to make plans. YAY! plans.

I somehow accidentally got a little drunk. Which sucks this morning. As I feel a little shaky. And I'm not allowed to eat until *after* my doctor's appointment at 9:30.

I have more to say but now I must be a responsible kid and go learn how to ride the bus.

kisses

I can't even express how happy I am to be HOME.

Friday I spent a bunch of time at work. Then headed back to this area. Showered and got some much needed errands done. How I can spend so much money at Target is really beyond me.

Saturday my IKEA delivery came in the morning. I didn't have tools so I went to Strosnider's. I LOVE old-skewl hardware stores - and this one is GREAT. THey have EVERYTHING. And of course, I even got some things I didn't need.
Also hit whole foods and hollywood video. Did not get much done.

Saturday evening the directtv man came late and was EXTREMELY SKETCHY. So I made Angela come over and hang out with me and we assembled pain in the arse IKEA chairs. We got a surprise visit from M. Fun ensued. Of course this also meant I missed other fun I had been invited to - but what's a girl to do :) I'm very sad I missed a rousing game of never ever though.

Sunday we went to IKEA and on the way out I totally pulled my neck muscle which is EXTREMELY painful. Between that and the one side of my lower back being pulled I'm semi-useless. yuckers. I was home lying on the floor with ice and being miserable for a while.

Then I walked to Giant where I ran into [info]dcreverend and her woman - which was SO FUN! I LOVE MY HOOD!!!

I also ended up going to Noodles and Co for dinner. There was tasty salad, but more importantly there was tasty tasty beef. I'm not usually a big red meat sort of a gal - but man that was tasty!

Oh and I also got a couch! Its going to be delivered on Thursday!!! And the best part is momsie is going to send me my birthday money early to put towards the couch! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee.

Also today I had breakfast and went to the gym. Called momsie. And now am going to do some unpacking and cleaning while I still have enough endorphins for my neck to not be stiff.

Tomorrow I go to Costco and then return my rental and start my semi-carfree lifestyle!

Have I mentioned HOW MUCH I LOVE HAVING A HOME?!?!?!? And in particular *this* home?!?!?

its quite a day...

things i want to write about but can't right now
-how stupidly tweaked my back is
-the gay apartment mafia
-UPS
-moving

Overall I'm SO EXCITED to be coming home tonight - but something about it just doesn't quite feel real. I keep expecting my phone to ring and my boss to say 'just kidding! after vacation you go back to VAncouver!!!'

The kids in the other room gave me this really adorable Canada bus. It has a pull string and it vibrates across a hard surface. Love it! Not sure where I'm going to put it - but love it!

Currently I'm zipping codelines, figuring out what emails I need to save, and then going to organize the laptop bag as well as the big bag of "stuff" that came in with me that I have to decide where it goes.

t-4 hours till I leave the office...and counting!!!

(no subject) @ 07:23 am

I'm *almost* done packing. except, you know, for the big mess that's still in the apartment. I'm not entirely convinced I'm cleaning it all up though. We'll see how that goes. Its unfortunate that the trash room is *so* far away.

Its pouring here today. Its really appropriate that I leave Vancouver on a day where its pouring.

I don't really have more to say as I have to go *do* the things I'm putting off finishing.

(I will finally get it up to be excited about leaving once I go drop a stupid number of boxes off at UPS)

kisses

Current Mood: sleepy

Ahhhh so it was quite a weekend. The weekend was particularly odd because it felt like I was home, and it sucked because I had to leave again.

Anyways:
Thursday night flight to SFO was smooth. As usual SFO-->anymajordestination was oversold. I declined the bump as there was way too much to do in DC. I also didn't clear my upgrade which ended up not being too terrible as my seat and my adorable gay seatmate were both pretty prime. I love a good seatmate!

Friday morning we sadly arrived in late. I gathered up my huge amount of luggage and scored a free luggage cart from the nice Dulles Information man who brought it in with him! the really nice avis guy also lifted my very heavy bags on and off the bus for me! Car + Kaite + GPS were off on an adventure. Quickly followed by tasty breakfast sandwhich and nappppppppp.

Picked [info]justnotangie up in the city where there was blissfully little traffic (man I love Recess!) and we headed to Wolf Trap. I had never been there before but its a lovely venue (tho the hike up the hill made me start counting the days to the trip to see my new doctor!). Great Big Sea went on first which we were a little taken aback by - but they were playing with Eddie from Ohio who are a local favorite. GBS was great and very fun to finally see them in concert. Plus, who doesn't like a good newfie joke? We left when GBS was done, dropped Angela off and blissfully blissfully slept like the dead.

Saturday there was lots of erranding, but very little got accomplished (funny how things work that way). My first fun surprise tho was running into someone (cool) from DO at IKEA. I was like 'yay new hood!!' I did get a really nice kitchen/multifunctional round table with a leaf insert at IKEA, two chairs, and a baby laptop desk (for use with the couch I don't yet have). Unfortunately the table was too heavy and awkward for me to carry myself so they'll be delivering that next Saturday. I did get to take some stuff home from the marketplace to make home more homey, but I need to go back for some other stuff still. I also got a really bigass TV at best buy. It turns out it was not exactly what I want on two counts, but I'm not bitching. Even tho my apartment has a crazy built in fireplace that doesn't work and I'm not a huge fan of, it is saving me money on an entertainment center.

I then waited for the directtv man to come. Apparently the corner of the balcony above me blocks the hidef signal but not the basic signal. The man only had the hidef dish and so someone has to come back next weekend. So I am still unable to watch tv on my bigass tv.

Fortunately Angela came over to keep me company for a while, and we also had a nice visit from Holly who came bearing tasty tasty baja fresh. mmmmm. Chatting ensued. Love having fun Silver Spring neighbors.

Angela and I then took an emergency run to Walmart (which was open till midnight) - as even tho its a bit ghetttooooooo it does carry emergency bin supplies. This was key as in unpacking some of my suitcases, I pretty much just dumped a lot of stuff in the middle of the floor, but then realized I was having people over for breakfast, and I could not have Kayla walk in and be like 'oh look, its a mess already'. So things were put in bins and put away and it was lovely.

Sunday I got up arse early as I had lots to do. I went to giant and got groceries for breakfast. I then drove around looking for a liquor store that was open early on a sunday morning (this was very difficult). It turns out tho that there is one right near me that opens at 9:30 on Sunday morning and they had cold frexinet which ROCKED. Also, there were totally a bunch of guys sitting outside having their first beverages of the morning. Tidied up some more and then Kayla and Capser and Paige and Heath arrived for brunch. This was fab!
Had tasty tasty bagels and banana bread and eggs and bacon and tater tots and juice and strawberries and bananas and chocolate milk and mimosas! (and condiments akimbo!) It was quite a little picnic.
They also didn't laugh too hard at me when I had to be shown how to turn on my stove. Actually, weirdly the front burners wouldn't light at first (extra weird as the oven was on no problem) - so I ran around the building looking for lighters/matches to no avail. But when I came back in Paige magically made fire happen!

They left and I went to the gym where I am now able to use the TV with the eliptical. I watched some mens water polo and then part of the cody banks movie. I also got to see M ever so briefly. Apparently along with lying to other people about how much time I have or they have, I have to start lying to myself as well - as I cut it WAY too close - and only by the grace of kind airline employees did I make my flight.

OH SPEAKING OF - the band "Soul Decision" were on my flight from DCA-ORD. They were in the emergency exit row and the first class flight attendant kept making a big deal out of them. She kept coming back and brining them drinks and chatting - and I wasn't sure who it was at first. But then I whipped out my Touch and it just so happened that "Faded" came on and there they were, matching the people sitting 3 rows behind me. It was nutty. (Its also funny that they were on my flight to Chicago as they're actually Vancouverites)

Anyways - flight from Chicago to YVR - ugh. The guy behind me was disgusting (as in I could hear him chewing with his mouth open disgusting) - and wanted to talk to me. And then when we finally arrived it took them FOREVER to get the jetbridge to us. Rest of the night went fairly smoothly. I even got the girl from Avis who used to be an uber-biatch to give me a free AWESOME upgrade as I had so much luggage.

Today I'm completely over tired - but i've only got about 72 more hours till I go home for
"good" - which is super-duper AWESOME.

Tonight - dinner with the cool kids and packing
Tomorrow - drinks and appetizers with all the kids and packing
Wednesday night - all the packing I haven't done this week
Thursday - fly home!!!

I also have quite a list of Vancouver errands to get done - so that is going to be a bit nutty too. Additionally work is also incredibly busy this week - so clearly no one area is letting me slack at all.

Can't wait to be home
kisses
~K
