The Dark Knight

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 5:26 PM

Yes. I saw The Dark Knight on opening night. And, if it's a movie you've been waiting to see, going to opening nights is still fun!! I loved this movie! I am a batman fan. I don't really care for spiderman or superman, but I love batman. Don't ask me why, but I have always been a batman person. And I thought I was going to feel a bit sad because Heath Ledger had died soon after he finished this movie, but I wasn't. I was anxious to see his role as the Joker. And I will say, that man does creepy and sadistic to a T. He was the PERFECT joker. I cracked up at the simple things he did and I gasped at the certain things he did or said, so he did his job well as an actor. Christian Bale, still as handsome as ever as batman. And the fact that Maggie Gyllenhaul, was Rachel Dawes instead of Katie Holmes, I actually liked the character better.

The guy that played Harvey Dent/ Two Face, excellent job and really good job on the whole face change when it got melted off on one side. Two and half hours and I just loved every moment of it. My congrats to Heath Ledger for making the joker probably one of my favorite batman villains. It has not been over done with the articles online or anything, it was a great movie and I do have every intention on seeing this movie again.

::Cough:: ::Cough::

  • Jul. 16th, 2008 at 9:53 PM

Yes I am sick. I caught the stomach virus going around (and to think, you don't know it's going around until you get it). Not only that, but I have the sinus cough and the nasty stuff that comes with it. I had to miss work for two days because I was that miserable and was really hot with a high fever. Not fun at all. It's not fun going to a doctors office and having to explain how you are feeling and every time you try to talk, a cough interrupts you and then you have to start over and then it starts again. Dustin got something a little bit worse. He got some sort of pnemonia, but not the really bad kind. He's actually doing better and so am I.

I hate being sick!!!

What foods can you not live without, and what foods can you not stomach?

View other answers

Simple foods wise, my crackers and cheese, the cheddar cheese not the sliced american kind and of course my PB&J sammiches. With a glass a milk.

I can't stomach anything with onions in it. If I see a small onion in my food, it's over, I can't eat it. And tomatoes. those literally turn my stomach at the taste of a tomato. Yuck.

I would actually like to spend a dinner time with Judy Garland. I think it would be interesting hanging with her like girlfriends and going to maybe order a pizza. That would be interesting.

Twilight: The Novel

  • Jul. 5th, 2008 at 12:03 PM

I know this book has been published for quite sometime, but ever since I saw that they were making a movie out of the book, I figured I'd try to re-read it. But since I let my mom borrow the book, I listened to it on my iPod. And I listened to all 11 discs. And, ok, here I go.

Isabella Swan moves to Forks, a place she just hates but moves there believing shes doing a favor to her om, which does sound dumb to begin with, and she moves with her dad. Going to the new school, she meets a boy named Edward Cullen. And sparks just fly all over like a regular teenage soap opera. One of the things that just annoyed me, was that every time Bella starts talking about Edward, it is always something like 'His beautiful face,' or 'super model like', it is always some form of beauty that she describes about him every time she talks to him or thinks about him. That to me, is annoyance number one. Honestly, I do get tired of hearing how beautiful the boy is making her seem like she just kind of a bit shallow.

Ok, now she falls in love with him. I have another question though, when also describing his beauty, why does she always seem to say that he always had this some kind of anguish expression? Is he always angry or something? And why would you want to be a round a guy like that? She always refers to her dad as 'Charlie' she only calls him dad to his face. Why on earth would you call your dad by his name? Fine, there may be some kind of estrangement between the two, but why call him by his first name? That doesn't really annoy me I just always wondered why.

To get to the point really, Bella gets on my nerves. She is down right obsessed with Edward and sometimes I get the feeling that he doesn't really return it even if he does say he loves her and wants to be with her. It seems like she just goes over the edge with everything. His touch is always cold, he seems to have some kind of angry look, but oh wait! He looks like a super model! I get that one a lot!

I guess I would understand since the book is in the Teen Fiction genre in the book store, but I wonder though, do other teenagers or young adults really want to read about teenage angst? Because it already happens in real life and it's just as annoying to see it rather than read it as well. And she wants to be turned into a vampire,I say just do it and maybe she'll stop her whining. But then again, she'll always describe Edward as some sort of beauty. I wonder though, what would have happened if Edward wasn't a vampire? That means he would look like that for very long. I picture her somehow becoming less attracted to him because he isn't how she describes as 'perfect' anymore.

This is kind of a rant against the book, but I'm a bit curious as to how the movie will go so I'll probably watch that too. I read New Moon and just got more annoyed with it that I just kept skipping pages. Honestly, four months of pure depression and the throughout the book she is trying to find some way to hear Edwards voice because he had left her. Annoying and just stupid. Too much angst over a guy that is a vampire and then obsessing about her friend Jacob. I read a full summary on it and it's just not my kind of book. I like some vampire stories, but this one just didn't catch me as interesting and again just annoying.

If anybody reads this, this is just my opinion so don't leave me a comment saying how I am wrong and this story is great. I just happen to not like this story and that's just that. There, now that I have it all out, I'm going to eat lunch. LOL.

Within Temptation: Memories

Wanted

  • Jun. 29th, 2008 at 5:56 PM

Wanted. Doesn't really strike a liking for the title as to know what to the movie is about; but believe me that one word says an awful lot. We have James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and of course, Angelina Jolie. The movie begins with Wesley Gibson basically bitching about how his life sucks, his girlfriend is a bitch and is cheating on him with his friend from work and he doesn't seem to care, until all of that is gone within *for lack of a better cliche* the blink of an eye. He is approached by Angelina Jolies character, Fox, and says that his father was the greatest assassin ever and that the guy who killed him is trying to kill you.

Now I know what you're thinking, this sounds like another one of those Tomb Raider, Assassin Angelina Jolie movies, if it were, I wouldn't have wasted the money. And it is true what they say, the action, the effects are more powerful than the effects in the every popular The Matrix. That's right! This movie is like the Matrix of our new times. These group of assassins called The Fraternity are trying to train this man to use his abilities just like his father so that he is ready when the man whom killed his father comes back.

I'm not a big Angelina fan, but honestly, it is true, she barely has speaking parts and when she does, they are short and sweet one sentences. She's not a bad actress. Morgan Freeman, there are no words, you just gotta love him. Like Lucky Number Slevin he is the King of the assassins and basically runs the whole embassy. James McAvoy, if you don't know, that is the ever popular Mr. Tumnus from The Chronicles of Narnia. Looks different from his faun makeup and the faun legs, but he was definitely the perfect fit for this role. You will be on the edge of your seat and wanting to know what is going to happen when Wesley has to be put to the test of his strength and abilities. And it is quite amusing when his backbone grows and he no longer gives a shit about giving a shit. In a manner of speaking.

Wanted definitely says it all, even when it's just one word.

WALL-E

  • Jun. 28th, 2008 at 3:35 PM

Newest Pixar movie to hit the theatres about a little robot called WALL-E whom develops a personality which makes him rather lonely on the abandoned planet earth. Sent to the planet to clean up the place, he collects little gadgets such as the rubics cube and a few lighters, and watches, when he is done for the day, retires into his little robot cave he calls home and watches an old what seems like a 1960's musical. Poor WALL-E starts to feel rather lonely when a man and a woman hold hands singing to one another, but all that is about to change when a craft lands on earth and drops up their own robot called EVA to find any sign of life on earth.

There is little dialogue in the movie which makes it more enjoyable because you are reading the emotions and the sign language more than listening to what the characters are saying. Every now and then you'll hear a robotic voice say EVA or WALL-E. One day the craft comes and takes EVA away, prompting WALL-E to cling onto the ship and fly out into space and to a new craft for the humans to live until earth is complete called Axiom. Axiom is a "cruise" as it is referred to as for humans to be nothing but couch potatoes as they are carried around the entire ship on floating chairs and do nothing but talk to hologram screens and have other robots bring them food and drinks. And no Pixar movie is complete without the familiar voice of John Ratzenburg to have some part in it, plays one of the couch potato humans named John whom was the first one to encounter WALL-E while he is going after EVA.

I won't give a way what goes on in the film, but I will say, that this is probably the best Pixar movie ever made. It is interesting to watch robots have personalities and actually feel that emotion to want to be loved or just hold hands. WALL-E shows that given the right story and done in a matter of speaking, correctly that any artifact can have human emotions. You will just love WALL-E and just feel so great when he is no longer alone on earth.

Tired...tired...and did I mention tired?

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 10:06 PM

I once knew an old man named dave....

Wait...

No I didn't...oh hell.

LOL. Something completely random. Anyway, This has been a long week, but to sum it up...here's what's happened.

Monday: Work, one of my coworkers didn't show up and she calls at eleven and says 'I won't be in today' LOL. It was all right, because she's one of the cool ones and Monday's are our slowest days ever. I got an iPod so I got to put an audio book on there for me to listen too. And Firestarter by Stephen King is incredibly boring. Didn't even finish it, it was that boring. So long day on Monday that just dragged and dragged...meh!

Tuesday: Work, I do what they call the weeklies. It's a weekly newspaper for a smaller community. I put their pages together and makes sure it goes through all right. Nothing exciting there. Our paginator sent his pages from another community before one of my coworkers could do hers. Which is stupid, because she leaves at five and the pages are there a little before and now she can't print them because he decides to get ahead and print his. HE doesn't seem to get it because his pages usually get there really late. Long day.

Wednesday: Our paginator pissed me off! I left thirty minutes early because of him. If an ad ran for three days and the three days aren't up, it SHOULD NOT BE DELETED FROM THE SYSTEM! He deleted from the system while making the missing ad list and didn't put it on the list and then tries to find some way to make it NOT HIS FAULT. News flash! IT was his fault, that is his job and not screw it up if you just READ THE FUCKING TICKETS! YEah made me angry and he sees it as nothing but a big joke.

Thursday: Work. Nothing really.

Friday: Today, it was a long day but it was a bit more enjoyable. Been really tired lately even if I do go to bed early, I can't seem to fall asleep until  later when I should.

Finished my book. It's very interesting. Gets a little preachy but it's pretty good. I did enjoy it. Don't know if I'll buy another christian book though.

My iPod is the effing best and I love it. I have never owned an iPod before. My hubby bought it for me. Yay for audio books!

So right now, I am trying to write some stories, watching my hubby and his friend act like a bunch of goofballs with video games, and watch Secret Window. Great movie! Love it.

Yep, that's about it.

An update from me...yeah...wow.

  • Jun. 21st, 2008 at 2:34 PM

Yesterday, I had an extremely bad day. I didn't sleep good so therefore was dreadfully tired when going to work. I created, from scratch, an ad that was supposed to run in the papers Sundays. Well, the effing WITCH ad rep gave my design to ANOTHER artist that works in the advertising department and they REDID it and decided to use hers. What the hell kind of BULLSHIT is that! You don't go give someone else's design for someone else to redo it, talk about a lack of respect! I mean, if you were just going to do that, then maybe you shouldn't have given it to the prepress department in the first place! I was really tired and kind of bitchy so I tried my best to keep my calm. That and I am on my damn period so I'm more hormonal than ever. MEH!

Anyway, I got home, bad day at work and my husband had the day off from work. He had called me during work and said that he had a surprise for me. I hadn't thought anything of it until I got home. He bought me an iPod. I had been wanting one for a long time. We had gotten paid and he got his government check, *still waiting for mine*, and we are pretty good right now. We just paid bills so we still have to watch our expenses. We went to Chilli's for dinner and went to Best Buy to browse around. He bought a game and got home and watched Jerry McGuire. That is a FUNNY movie I love it! I absolutely just love it. I love the part where Jerry is completely complaining to Rod about his life and Rod looks at him and goes, "Well, boo fucking woo." LOL!!!! I still crack up at that scene!! I love it!!!

Anyway, today, I went to the pharmacy to pick up my patches and a new sink filter thing a ma doodle. Then I went to Booksamillion. They have an entire new crew from when I last worked there. Unfortunately, one of the coworkers still works there but the great thing is that he works there at night, that means, I don't go there at night to avoid him. I can't stand him and he is the most annoying person I had ever met. And not the funny annoying kind that you can just be tolerant of.

Anyway, I bought a Stephen King book, I have never read a Stephen King book before. But I read up on this one called Misery. It sounded like an interesting story so I decided to buy it and give it a go. If I don't like it, hell I'll give it to mom she has a whole bunch of his books. I also bought this christian book. Yes! I bought a christian book. Not that really that kind though. It's basically a book that talks about how most christians to this day are annoying and paranoid that they worry more about being perfect christians than actually learning from Jesus and God. So far, it is a hilarious book and it writes out the views I have had of most people that claim they are christians. It is great so far and I'll have to review it when I am done with it. It's called "I'm Fine with God...it's the Christians I can't stand." Don't let the title fool you though, it's a really good book and I wouldn't buy anything that goes all athiest. It's actually really good.

Cleaned the kitchen and I should clean the living room but right now I am being really lazy. LOL.

Anyway, that's what's been going on. I'll update more later.
