I'm really sorry for the ads. I just don't feel like paying for an account right now. Wait, you know what? No. I'm not participating in this. I'd rather pay. BRB, ad-free!

Boadicea - Boldness and Bravery
Did you ever know anyone who, upon being told of something that brightened your day, only ever had negative things to say about such things? The explanation is - 'Well, I don't want you to get your hopes up because I dislike seeing you upset' but life can suck enough as it is... why can't anyone seem to let you be in the happy place for awhile? I'm not some flibbertigibbet who doesn't know how the dice get rolled in life. It's not like I'm living in some delusional fantasy world. It would just be nice if, once in awhile, people could just take things at face value and let me bask awhile in the rare thing that actually goes my way.

My score on The Which Cult Should You Join? Test:

Unitarian Church

(You scored 48 Angst, 22 Weirdness, and 54 Freedom!)

The Unitarian-Universalist Church is about as open-minded as you can possibly get, to the point that they don't really have any doctrines per se, just a set of loose guidelines under which people of different beliefs can interact in relative harmony. They were among the first churches to recognize women pastors and gay marriage, and generally support any number of left wing causes.

This often vague open-mindedness leads many to question whether it's even a religion at all. Never piss a Unitarian off, though, or they'll burn a question mark in your front lawn.

This would be interesting if I didn't think the concept of male/female being tied to one gender or the other completely outmoded. I think I do generally prefer hanging around people who trend more toward traditionally masculine behavior... and I think that I probably am more 'guy-like' than most women are. But it's all part of the yin and yang, y'know? One flows into the other. And honestly, I think I'm pretty happy with this result since I tend to believe the epitome of human existence is androgyny, the best characteristics and strengths of both gender archetypes.

You scored as Male, Being mostly male / masculine, within your structures of thinking simply means that your reasoning powers are (the way they are perceived in Western Culture`) higher than the one of the opposite sex. Psychoanalsis claims this to come at the price of creative expression - a rational thinker can not think out of the box, it is claimed.

I was talking to a co-worker the other day about her adoption of a Guatemalan boy. I had no idea that adoption costs anywhere from $10,000-$35,000 or more! Good lord. Kids need families, families need kids, you wouldn't think it would be so expensive to make that simple equation work! It's absolutely ridiculous that a child could be languishing in a third-world foster home or orphanage, because of exorbitant fees, when there are perfectly willing and able families wanting to give them a home, but not wanting to have to take out a second mortgage to do so. Some costs are genuine, I know, but $35,000??? That's just insane.
