A teaser of my animation project. It´s nothing more than a slide show with old pictures, sketches, concept art and unfinished animation bits (everything will change, even the music). But I had to get something more concrete to keep myself motivated on finishing this. |

| Elections |
[Oct. 5th, 2008|07:42 pm] |
Most of you, as I, are probably concerned about the closing by presidential elections in US.
Here, today, we had local elections for mayor. I voted for a former guerrilla, former terrorist (he kidnaped the american embassador in the 70's), pot smoker, pro-abortion, and gay candidate. And he may win as well.
Why? He is a long time ambientalist, uncorruptible (that´s the only point his adversaries have no way to attack, and they recognise it), accessible, and never left undone something he promised to do (and did more than expected in some cases, like when he donated money to the Museum I worked, which saved it from total colapse - the Museum is part of a public university, which the government had abandoned). And in Brazil, this is unique. |

Except the pink guy was made of chewing gum.
Later I realized it was about some god hand playing with my metaphorical penis. But that didn´t clarify anything for me about the meaning of this :^P |

 Legoatse?
Second: A few days ago I was experimenting a bit of what zorron calls "Darkside". It was an unfunny but enlightening experience. Since them, I have been doing a lot of work at home (we have a family-based production line of puzzles, board games and social games that we create or redesign ourselves), and it kinda made me forget that I have no job and nothing in sight in near future. I am expecting the advanced animation course that was delayed to october 13th, because I think I can get something for me from that source. |

| | bored | ] | First a brief introduction: Inri Cristo is a pearl of modern brazilian folklore, a 60 years old man who claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. He has gathered some followers and believers worldwide, gathering donations that sustain his Jesus lifestyle, which includes the house seen in this clip, where he lives with his closest disciples. Under request, they have made a documentary about the pretending Lord's daily life, with english subtitles.
Here, he shows his godly skills on bowling. It´s funnier if you try to imagine the real Jesus (which he claims to be, anyway) there:

| | curious | ] | China is doing marvelously on their "gold rush" because they have invested on training a whole generation of high level athletes in the last 7 years, to make the same old fashioned regime propaganda to the world while we are looking. I wonder what they are doing in Britain for the next Games, in 2012.
And if you gringos think that I am right to believe that Chicago is the favorite to host the 2016 Olympic Games. Rio de Janeiro is an outsider as a candidate city for the event, and the saddest thing is that, if we get to be chosen, no one on politics will do shit to improve sports in Brazil, which would not only increase the average health for children and people in general, but also would give the poor communities alternatives instead of under paid, informal jobs or crime. Instead, they would build colossal stadiums (which will take 5-6 years to be built, unlike the Beijing Olympic Stadium, that was build in less than half that time) over already existing ones and steal all the money they can in the process. |

| | enraged | ] | I recieved a phone call this morning from the Museum telling me that I am already eliminated from the doctorate sellection process, and don´t even need to bother to attend to the foreign language test next morning, that would be the next step. Since it´s a problem inherent to brazilian public universities, it makes no sence to rant about it here. But you may bet I am mad about it, you may bet.
I see I don´t have much room there to grow in my carreer. After nine years working there for free, it´s definetly the time to leave. I am sending away my curriculum away to private universities (that are shite, achademically speaking, but are seeking for people with my qualifications for their ranks, if only to enslave them on their overly exploiting and low paying job system). My PhD will have to wait, God knows for how long. I have to survive first. |

| My life in cycles |
[Jul. 8th, 2008|10:24 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | uncomfortable | ] | So, weblogger.net decided to end its services in 07/11, leaving my 7.5 years old blog to die in three days. I have saved my past archives and all, but I just had to start a brand new blog (on blogspot, because I can´t be arsed to geek around blog services nowadays). Now that I have done it, I came to think that this symbolizes the end of another cycle in my life. I can´t find a way to repost my archives on a blogspot blog, so this new blog will not have the registry of my past years, including love, mistakes, accomplishments, friendships, while I open a new one, like a blank piece of paper waiting to be filled.
Which also reminds me when I closed my first Livejournal account back in 2002. I had that account since 2000, I think, and it always was a funny way to keep in contact with my friends, although most of them were in touch on mIRC everytime. So, in 2002 I had already started my blog in portuguese and kinda felt livejournal was useless to me. The feeling wasn't the same as now. Actually, I think this LJ is, now, the remaining electronic link to my recent past...
Everything feels weird right now :^P |

So, the regular peppers you probably know are varieties of the same species, Capsicum annuum. But did you know this particular variety?

This is a "penis pepper". Not photoshopped at all. |
