stolen from: lauren_riot I would have an abortion. The circumstances under which I would, might, have, or might have chosen to have an abortion are nobody's business but mine and those I choose to tell. They are not the business of any government. I do not accept the proposition that either the state or my sexual partner(s) should have any say over when and if I choose to bear a child. I do not accept any sovereignty over my body and my reproductive organs but my own. If faced with the situation, I will do everything feasible to help other women and girls I know exercise their rights to safely terminate a pregnancy if they so choose. When a state treats women and girls as chattel, it is they that commit a crime.

Ramones
This is where you belong in the annals of punk history! |
You probably don't realize how cool you actually are. You set the trend by not setting one. You do what you want and are surprised when other people like doing it your way. You may be simple but that's just fine. Who cares, right? you'll go down in history as the stuff of legends, though you have no idea why; as far as you knew, you were just some stupid person having some fun, right? |

|
My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender :
|
You scored higher than 23% on wild apathy
|
|
You scored higher than 61% on pissed off
|
|
You scored higher than 60% on comically evil
|
|
You scored higher than 32% on socially aware

[Feb. 8th, 2006|04:02 pm] |
I feel like I should write a post or all my friends may take me off their lists or forget I exist.
I have never been this quiet in my life.
It is very weird.
Mid-life crisis???
Depressed??
Busy??
A little of all of the above but also serenely happy and enjoying my own company.
We have this book that I read to Tyla about being different... Basically, "It's ok to wear glasses", "It's ok to be different sizes", etc... one of the pages says, "It's ok to eat mac and cheese in the bathtub" So of course Tyla has wanted to do it forever. This morning she woke at 5:40 am and I got her in the tub with her mac and cheese by 6:15. She loved it. It is so easy to make something silly special some days. |

| My friend died... |
[Oct. 20th, 2005|10:57 am] |
I feel very sad... he was so energetic and full of life. One of those people that was so friendly to everyone, outspoken, a little crazy in a exciting way. I've know him for about 10 years... he used to do a lot of performance work. Sometimes our kids played in the park.

| Lucky... |
[Sep. 29th, 2005|08:24 pm] |
We are really very lucky! The tree outside of our house is huge... probably 75 yrs old, 100' tall. It has two main branches. One broke off today and travelled into our south neighbors porch and house south of them, into the front bedroom windows. Our house was pretty much untouched. It just wiped out the metal fench dividing us. It missed my bike by inches.
I'm talking about 50' of tree covering our yard and the 2 houses south of us... it is bizarre to look at!
Our power has been restored (obviously).
I'm so happy no one was hurt.
The tree is the property of the city so hopefully we are not responsible in any way (crosses all digits)!
Phew... |

but a tree branch broke off from our front yard tree. The house beside us is damaged. We have no hydro. I am not allowed to get in through the front door due to live power lines. Luckily Steph is around and has the automatic garage door opener to get in by (I'll have to call on my way home).
Oh yeah, it is very windy here today! |

| | Dead Boys | ] | I need a break from reading Mom's House, Dad's House. Steph is away again, in NYC, until Sunday... so time to take a break from the heavy stuff. One can only absorb so much.
I need to get a new book to read... hmm... something light but smart... finished all of Gregory McGuire. I've read most of the classics...
any suggestions????
I'm easy but it needs to be fiction right now! |

| | child monitor... tyla is still sleeping... woohoo! | ] | Now that Tyla's daddy lives a few blocks away... i have all this extra energy... and sadness, anger, hope, happiness, etc... so I am waging war!
Our home is around a hundred years old, we live downtown and insect and animal pests are just a natural part of life!
But... our ants will die... the mice will die... and yes (i hate to even write it) but i've seen a few cockroaches lately... and they most certainly will die a painful death!
Tyla and I have both woken up this week with a few bites on our arms and legs... I'm not sure what they are from... maybe spiders (yes, we have a few but they never really bothered me before). Yesterday I waged war... vacuumed the house and every cervice w/ that cervice attachment, dragged the futon downstairs, tottal stripped it and washed everything in hot water, let the mattress bake in the sun all day... then beat the shit outta it w/ a broom. Laid ant traps, coachroach and mice trap... washed the floors with peppermint oil.
What else should I do... (besides take up jogging before our home becomes obsessively clean)?
I haven't yet started thinking about the racoons and skunks that will probably find a way into our attic as the weather gets cold! |

places i have lived...
Brampton, Ontario Toronto, Ontario Bolton, Ontario San Francisco, CA New York, NY Montreal, Quebec London, England Berlin, Germany Bloomfield Hills, MI Brooklyn, NY
I can't begin to count the amount of different apartments I lived in over the years... most unusual would be the 'beer vats' in SF (kinda a squat/live music studio of early 80's punk rock), the 'raus haus' in Berlin (oldest squat in the city... very well organized... this was before the wall came down) and a over hauled school bus in Toronto (and for one winter partly... brrrrrrrrrrr)... most were just normal apt. and houses though.
I have been in our house now for five years (almost a record for me) and I am not moving anywhere for a long time (at least until I finally get the whole place painted)! |

| Putting Tyla to work! |
[Aug. 16th, 2005|11:16 am] |
We had an absolutely amazing day yesterday. Did a few errands and went to Dufferin Grove Park. I love that park (except when they get weird around breastfeeding in the rink area... wtf???)...
Anyhoo, we did our usual, wading pool, playground sandpit, organic hot dogs and veggie couscous for lunch. Then Tyla expressed an interest in the kitchen area they are building by the wading pool. It is a cob building (and mixture of clay, sand and water) that will be covered in a limestone mixture. It is about half built and kinda looks like a castle/Gaudi building w/ curved walls etc. A women named Georginia designed it and lots of locals are helping her build it. Anyone can help.
So help we did. Tyla and I mixed up a batch of cob (mostly means stamping around in mud... and rolling it in a tarp). I was surprised but Tyla saw it all the way through till it was ready for the building. Then Tyla got up on the 4' scaffolding and helped them pat it on and form the walls. We both had a blast!
My body is feeling it this morning! |
