But once I get a job I'm blowing through all of these in celebration/last ditch effort to get through them before WERK. I hope that's soon. I'm happy with all of the interviews I've been getting, but I'm really sick of doing them now.

Just to give myself more work, I've signed up to be an artist for the next SS*BB yuri issue. At least I am not busting ass trying to get my FKMT doujin anthology submission done (due in 12 days). I took care of that back in May.

The Baccano! tarot cards are coming along nicely. I have 8 Major Aracana cards done so far, with 12 total sketched out.

Also if I can get a job soon and go to Katsucon, I will hopefully be doing a panel ("Kawaii Culture: Cuteness in Japan"). Panelist get free convention admission so that is a definite driving force.

Next article for [Design Benign] will be about moe anthropomorphism. Ideas to write about thus far are:

Trying to figure out some new things to cook, so I've been perusing Youtube for cooking vids. I've some across some that are very charming and/or odd.

[Spatulatta]- A series of videos of young girls cooking and giving recipes. The presentation is very good and the girls seem quite professional, as well as adorable. And they make pretty complicated things for under-10-year olds, like sushi.

[Cooking with Dog]- A strangely cute series of Japanese cooking videos (in English), featuring a dog who is supposed to be the instructor's voice. They make a lot of the recipes seem pretty easy so I will have to try them out. Danjooooooo...

[Manjula's Kitchen]- Awesome vegetarian Indian food. I have been craving curry like nothing else, so I will definitely have to make some soon.

Okay next con I go to I am cosplaying as one of the [companion cube-headed] people from Portal.

I picked up Me and the Devil Blues by Akira Hiramoto today (yay gift card), and I just finished up reading it. NOW YOU MUST GO READ IT

BECAUSE IT IS ACES

The manga tells the legend of blues pioneer Robert Jonhson, who supposedly sold his soul to the devil so he could play guitar. Me and the Devil Blues illustrates this tale in the trippy, gritty way the best American folk tales are. It's like the forest scene from Miller's Crossing on acid for 600 pages.

Then [Clyde Barrow] shows up and it gets even MORE AWESOME. Son House and Willie Brown also make an appearance, and I'm crossing my fingers for Lead Belly. /blues dork Even if it's not 100% historically accurate (though I have to applaud a Japanese mangaka taking a hard, realistic look on Jim Crow rule in the South), it could work in the hallucination-like, fairy-tale feel of the book.

Seriously, if you are not watching this show, watch this clip, then go rent the first season. YOU WILL THANK ME LATER

wahhhhhhhh I'll have to wait months to get my hands on The Watchmen.

Also why are all the books I'm taking out either messed up comics or about sex?

Current reading list. Under the Banner of Heaven is the scariest fuckin' book I've ever read. O__O
