I really dislike the brown jelly beans. But the green ones that taste like pear are amazing.
My aches leg really badly for no reason whatsoever. I want someone hot to rub them. Haha.
So now that that’s out of the way, last night I posted about this guy who was apparently coming to yell at me tonight who Melinda affectionately referred to as ‘Guy la Douche’ in the comments.
I was worried all last night and all this morning and afternoon about it. I hate being yelled at, as I’m sure most people do. And from what I heard from Melinda, he was ridiculously pissed off and uncooperative.
So before I get into the rest of it, here’s what the problem was. He checked in on Sunday and paid for a couple of nights, saying he might want to stay longer. I blocked off a couple of nights for him in case he did, which he seemed to be happy about.
Then apparently he came in yesterday and wanted to extend FOR A WEEK. Okay so I accept that it was my fault for not blocking off enough days, but at the same time who pays for two days and then decides to stay a week!? That’s not very common — especially when you just come in off the street and are by yourself.
So he came it extend and Greg said he couldn’t. There was someone coming in on the site who had requested it. The guy flipped shit and yelled at Greg and was basically uncooperative and ridiculous. He refused to move. So both Greg and Melinda called the guy who had requested the site asking if he’d mind moving a site over.
When I got in today Melinda didn’t know if the person had called back. I looked in the computer for the guy, and couldn’t find him (I also couldn’t remember his name, but I was looking for the site that was requested and Melinda’s comment about the message she left asking them to call us so we could ask them to move). So I found the site with the comment and noticed there was someone new on it who were checking out before the people who requested it came in.
I felt so relieved because I thought that the jerky guy had checked out.
A few hours later, he comes into the store. I was helping some people and Melinda snaps to let me know he was there, haha.
I thought for sure the guy would yell at me… but he didn’t. He was a little annoyed still but was actually pretty nice to me. I said I heard what had happened and that I was really sorry that it was my mistake and I guess I hadn’t entered the date correctly. He said it was okay now, and I said I was glad everything got worked out. He kept referring to Greg as “that guy” and I think was actually more mad at him than he was at me.
So it went well. But he said one thing that pissed me off.
He said something like, “I told them that if I saw you, you’d be crying in the corner”.
Uhh, what?
What the hell?
I mean, who says that?
I said, “Well, that’s not very nice” because I honestly couldn’t think of anything to say to that. Naturally, as soon as he left I realized I should have said something like, “And then we would have asked you to leave the campground” or “No, that wouldn’t have happened”. But yeah, I apparently don’t think that fast, haha.
I’m glad that everything is on good terms now. He’s not angry anymore and he should be enjoying his vacation. But now I just feel irritated he said that and I kind of wish he did yell at me so I could show him that he wouldn’t have made me cry or buckle.
Like I said before, only one person in my seven or eight years at the campground has made me cry and he was being ridiculous because he wasn’t even talking to me! I was talking to his wife and he was standing behind her causing a scene and saying that we were incompetent and everything because they messed up their reservation dates. He was swearing, throwing his arms around and just being a total asshole. I was already completely stressed out so you can see why something like that would make me cry (and in reality, I cry pretty easily… not so much when it comes to dealing with customers though, haha).
But on the plus side, we had this awesome lady come in and ask for a manager because she wanted to say how nice Jenn was on the phone, and how nice and helpful all the staff has been. She said that she knows that we probably get a lot of people yelling at us and blaming stuff on us, and she thought it would be nice for us to know that there are people who think we’re doing a good job.
I wanted to hug her, haha.
As I said to Melinda, it feels like lately everytime we get someone bitching and complaining we get at least one person who gives us a compliment. Which of course, feels great.
