I just want to say that if they really have found video evidence that those people in custody really did record martyrdom videos, then the security alert was justified, to some extent. By that I mean that it was worth imposing the restrictions, because if they hadn't, we wouldn't be having the very necessary debate we need to have about what kind of security screenings and permananent restrictions need to be put in place so that liquid explosive is not a possibility for the terrorists. I know they'll find other methods, but the authorities need to do everything they can to shut off as many possibilities as possible.

Does anyone have any experience of using either of the Shepherds Bush tube stations ?

Two things in the news which made me cross - one being why the Liverpool win at football was top story and also why they are complaining about not being able to be in Champions League next year when they should have just worked harder on their domestic game !

And as for the whole teenage pregnancy issue - there was a mother, whose three daughters got pregnant underage, who said that it isn't possible for her to be totally responsible. But then it makes me want to ask her : did you teach them to say no to sex ? ( Mind you, it is unclear where the father(s) of these daughters are ).

The whole thing of it being acceptable for a teenager to have and keep a baby when it's taxpayers who have to pay for them makes me very cross because it's like it doesn't matter if you are responsible and wait to get pregnant, because those girls get financially rewarded for doing something that they know they shouldn't. If a child gets pregnant underage, the parents of the mother and father should be held responsible and be made to take responsibility for what their children do. If a child is twelve, what are they doing being sexually active ?????

Maybe it's time for a rethink of the way society treats young single mothers. To be in a relationship that breaks down is one thing, but to just have sex and then never mind if you get pregnant, it's just plain wrong ! I know I sound like a right-winger, but this just makes my blood boil !

TV is all set up with everything attached, even if the cables are way longer than necessary...

I now know why I avoid my local shops - I spent as much time out looking for a parking space, not to mention the 60 p it cost me just to park....this is a lot if you consider you can go twenty minutes up the motorway for a much greater selection of shops, better parking, etc.

Got food, card, present, etc...I am off to see middle child turn seven this afternoon !

MMm. So I didn't think Greece stood much of a chance. How wrong could I have been ? I'm not impressed to some extent because I think it isn't the best thing they've sent in recent years...kind of like when Love Shine A Light won. Greece got votes for the visual gimmick, combined with attractive male backing dancers ( it has to be admitted that kind of thing would kind of help with the gay vote ) and a decent vocal, no more than that. It had no passion to it.

Half of me actually preferred being home this year - no tiredness, a chance to actually get rid of the lurgy that I know I would get if I were at the Contest, a chance to enjoy the actual main events in the comfort of my own home because I haven't sat watching hours and hours of rehearsals, not needing to rely on the kindness of colleagues and strangers to get around the venue. In short, I wasn't jaded on Thursday or tonight.

But ( please don't be scared by the next thought, oinomel71 ) I have to say Athina 2006 tempts me. For the obvious reason that it's Athens. I don't think I would want to do the whole rehearsal thing but being there for the shows is kind of an interesting thought. Just because it's my heritage and I haven't seen my Greek family for many years. So... I have to think.
