There Is Such Thing As A Sugar Boost (EE)
The above statement was proved last night in a very unexpected medium. A little sugar can go a long way, and if one uses their mind skills to figure out when that energy is needed, one could probably use it to their advantage. Providing approximately 4-6 hours of extra awareness, it's something I may have to use either against my will or for an inanimate cause in the future.

Now then, before all of this sugar kicked in, let's rewind back to about six o'clock last night. I still wanted to do a little bit of shopping, so my mom let me go with her to Mervyn's. I got a bunch of apparel for myself (and some for gifts), at very good prices. Afterward, I got a Strawberries Wild at Jamba Juice, and my mom and I split a 2-entree plate at Panda Express. By then it was about eight o'clock, and I was about to head over to Missie's house for another "movie night". I refreshed my memory as to the directions to her house, and arrived there a little before 8:30 PM.

I announced my presence by simply letting myself in, resulting with Andrea exlaiming, "You think you can just walk on in like that?" It was highly comical. Missie's dog Pepper Ann was barking ferociously at me, although she had seen me a few times before. We went onto MySpace for a while, and then conversation and web-browsing led to IMDb.com. We talked about the Top 250 and just about movies, actors, and message boards in general.

The three of us started up a game not unlike "Scene It", but using "shout" as the game's trademark. It was pretty interesting, and the lead changed quite frequently throughout the first few rounds. Soon enough, Bernadette showed up and that livened up the "party" a little more. Minutes later, Angel showed up, and then Peter did as well, so it was more like a "get together" now.

There was talk about a "food run," and at 10:30 PM, it's fun to just hop into the car and rush out to a random place to crave the hunger. Bernadette and Angel drove separately, but I hopped in with Missie, Peter, and Andrea. We rendezvoused at Safeway and circled the store a few times. I ended up getting some sparkling cider, and the case of the sugar boost: a thick, moist slice of chocolate cake. We purchased the food, got in our respective cars, and met back at the house.

Still a little before eleven o'clock, Missie, Peter, Andrea, and myself resumed the final few rounds of the "shout" movie game. On the "Final Bet", Andrea and I wagered all of our points for a question we almost completely guessed at, and got it right! This concluded in the red team (that's me): 84 points; to the blue team: 0 points (because they bet it all and got it wrong). Good times, good times.

We finally began the movie "Se7en" after turning out all the lights to make it even creepier. I was originally seated in the comfortable leather recliner, but I failed to call "Seat back!" when I got up to get my chocolate cake, so Missie swiped up my chair. I ended up sitting on the couch, less comfortable, and at an angle from the TV. But, au contraire, Missie made the same mistake I did and for probably the last hour of the movie I got my chair back.

The hands on the clock were ticking into the midnight hour; I took bite after bite into the $2.99 chocolate cake slice that I purchased from Safeway earlier that night. Losing my appetite from a paricular scene in the movie, I sat back to enjoy the rest of the flick. However, around 12:45 AM, I was feeling incredibly tired; I just wanted to go home and to bed, so I misesd a few scenes of the movie. Once a few shotgun sounds occurred, those woke me up, and woke me up to begin the sugar boost.

The movie concluded at 1:15 AM, and after I gathered all my things (jacket, camera, cake), Missie drove me home. I walked up to the front door, but contrary to what I had hoped, the door was locked. I was forced to walk around the back and try that door, which was also locked. I peered inside and saw my dad walking around inside the kitchen and waved my hands to get his attention. How creepy it must have been to look outside the kitchen windows and see a shadowy figure looming around in the back yard past midnight. He realized it was me, and let me inside. I headed upstairs and thought I was going to call it a night, but that was just the beginning.

I checked a few things on LiveJournal, and resumed some chats on AIM around 2:00 AM. I had two really deep conversations that lasted all the way until the hour of three in the morning, and slowly continuing into the hour of four AM; I just wasn't tired. A friend introduced me to something called, "Google Earth", and I'm so regretful I didn't take it more seriously earlier in the game--it's such an awesome program. That kept my attention until about 4:45 AM, and then just winding down and finally realizing it's "late" took me be awake until 5:30 AM when I finally tanked it, not even feeling sleepy.

I've certainly learned my lesson about eating chocolate cake late at night: although it seems like you're getting sleepy early in the game, it'll keep you awake for hours after that. Doing that last night resulted in me not waking up today until 11:30 AM. It's not like I'm completely appalled at wasting the morning away, because for the bulk of today I just rested, used the computer for various things, and practiced for the upcoming musical I'm doing, "Urinetown". If I get to bed at an appropriate time tonight, I can switch myself back into normal sleeping habits and starting Monday, have a great five solid days at school, since the breaks are over until Christmas.

You were right, this was a good entry! :D

Google Earth...is that the program where you can look into people's houses and see what they're up to? I think I've heard of it

Is your school doing "Urinetown"? That would be a bit unusual for a school that's for sure

I've seen that on Broadway. Kind of an er, uh interesting show...

No. A fellow sophomore friend is directing it and we (a production and cast of about twenty people) are putting on the musical for a "Dramathon" my school does once a year.

Yeah, I guess it's interesting--I had never heard of it before, but the music's cool.

Seat.. back? heh, when I was growing up, it was always "seat check" or something.

*shrug*

So what did you think of the movie Se7en?

It's... Missie's idea. I usually call "Spot saver," haha. I got her back. That was awesome.

It was... O.K. I expected a little better, though. Pitt couldn't do anything but say the 'f' word every other phrase for crying out loud, lol. I tolerate a little profanity, but it was so unnecessarily outrageous in this movie, haha. I gave it an 8/10, I think.
