In two weeks, I will be on white sandy beaches, sipping some brightly coloured and heavily alcoholic drink. I am SO excited. This will be my first real vacation as an adult. The first trip I have taken that is more than a road trip.

It's also a bit surreal. I missed a lot of the summer and September flew by in a blink. I feel like I woke up and it was two months later without my noticing. I feel disoriented in general - it's a little like the path I've always followed has become fogged over, and I can barely see the dirt in front of my feet. I am hoping that our holiday will cure that.

Work is good, mostly. But I can't wait to be working freelance and taking photos for a living. The new year will mean a lot of changes for us, I think. I don't know what, but I think we're ready for them.

Aside from silly dragon memes, I have recently become obsessed with old movies. Not classic old, but 70s, 80s and early 90s old. We're watching Evil Dead tonight, and I recently picked up Edward Scissorhands (which is a much more entertaining movie when you are not 10 years old) and the Goonies.

My next few acquisitions will be Short Circuit, the Last Star Fighter and the Monster Squad (and the other Evil Dead movies, of course).

I have entirely too many blogs. I have an InsaneJournal, Blogger, Covenspace, Paganspace, Wordpress, DeviantArt and Livejournal. Of all of them only the last three have been regularly posted to in nearly half a year (and my Wordpress has been sadly neglected since July). Normally, I don't really care about such things, and if I don't use something, it just sits there.

I'm not really sure why I should care about them now, other than a strange need to clear out useless things from my life. I'm not sure if deleting them would be 'a start to less clutter' or just a token gesture in that direction. I'm not sure it makes a huge difference either way.

I'll be getting my passport in the next week or two. Which makes the near future terribly exciting for me. After Mexico, I'm going to take a class or two in January, and in June of 2009, it's off to Europe! We are going to do a train tour of the courtryside and various cities. It's always been somewhat of a dream of mine to go away on holiday and just never come back.

The ability to travel is really the only good thing about being completely rootless in life. Since it isn't going to change any time soon, I want to take advantage of it.

Anyway, that is my minor rambling for the day. I will be thinking of being a gypsy while I clean my apartment ;)

Well, my pink dragon's name is too long. Stupid game that won't take 'Kalaya - Kicker of Puppies and Destroyer of the Downtown East Side' as a name :P

So, I have to come up with something shorter. Bragging rights go to whoever suggests a way cool name. Also need a name for my little grey egg. Right now I am calling him Cookie Monster.
