Current mood: hot

I'll be mailing the CD to one of their tour stops, by the way.
I'm so tired. Getting only 3.5 hours of sleep last night started to take it's toll right around quitting time. When both gals who'd expressed interest in coming to see Harry and the Potters with me were, in fact, unable to come for various reasons, I found myself faced with two options. A) Drive a hella long way through crazy traffic in record-breaking heat to see a show by myself before driving said hella long way home, alone and sleepy, or B) get some food and go someplace air-conditioned. I opted for B. Still not sure how happy about it I am, but it was certainly good for me to get out of the heat and I had fun company. And now? Sweet sweet bedtime. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

PS: The Bourne Supremacy is a total waste of time. I liked the first one! I was excited for this one! It was AWFUL! I lost count of how many times I checked my watch. That bad. But the theatre was chilly!

It was probably smart to go with option B. It's not easy to drive when you're tired or hot when it's long distance. And it just gets worse when you stick them together.

I hated The Bourne Identity when I thought I would like it. But for some reason, I'm intrigued by the new one, and I think I'm just curious what next. *shrug* Doubt I'll make it to the theater for it, though.

My only theory on people who liked that is that they had had too much coffee, and their jitters just happened to eerily synchronize with the spastic jitters the camera crew underwent during filming.

It might have been a good movie, but Jackass: the movie had better camera work. I got a headache watching it. =(

I don't drink coffee.

However, I was conscious from the very first scene of the camerawork. Still, didn't take away from my love.

I actually envy you your ability to enjoy the movie. I have a low threshold for simulator sickness (simulated vision-based motion sickness), and thus found myself almost physically unable to enjoy the movie.

Oh well. I can respect the artistic statement they were trying to make.
And try to wash my visual palate by watching lots the Care Bear movies or some other less choppy particularly low motion fare. =)

It's from a banner ad that was on the CapCom website. I like Kobun (the name of that robot - 'Kobun' in Japanese means 'child, student, or inferior').

I like that icon too, but I like this car one the best for now. =)

1. Glad you got some A/C.
2. Sorry the movie sucked! I was looking forward to it. I hope to have some time this weekend to see Napoleon Dynamite.

Huh. What did you like about it? I'm genuinely interested because I've heard of one or two other people liking it and I want to get some insight. Personally, I thought they used handheld shots needlessly, to the point that it was really distracting. There were only like seven steady-cam shots in the entire movie, and they were almost all establishing exterior shots! In particular, the fight scenes were cut so quickly and the film was so jiggly that it was hard to tell what was going on. And the script! Oh dear Lord the script -- I love how everyone repeated what everyone else was saying ("Do you think he's in the tram? He couldn't possibly be in the tram. HE'S IN THE TRAM!"). And so many of the things they said were just...really cliche cop movie things ("They don't DO random."). Ugh. I didn't find any of the catchiness that there was in the first one -- I wasn't rooting for Bourne at any point. It wasn't that I was against him, but there weren't any scenes that made me get tense thinking, "oh, I hope he gets out of this one okay!" Does that make sense? Man. I really wanted to like it, too, since I enjoyed the first one so much (identity capers are a favourite of mine). Comically, I think the very very very end of the movie was the only part that had any feel of the last film (with the Moby track and him walking confidently away and so forth).

I confessed that I enjoyed The Bourne Supremacy. I enjoyed the first more, because I went to see Franka Potente in the first place. And while sitting in the second row of a crowded theater with the shaky camera, I wanted to barf. But I still liked:
1. I <3 spy, assissin, heist stuff.
2. I still like Damon's performance and that he bring some internal dialogue acting and smarts to what could have been a flat character.
3. It's international, yo.
4. It's stylish.
5. Bourne kicked ass with a rolled-up magazine.
6. I totally dug that everyone cast in the movie was attractive, but no one was strictly that bland, Hollywood attractive. Interesting faces - true of the first too.
7. My fave line - When Abbott (Brian Cox) was describing the demise of Treadstone to Landry (Joan Allen) he said, "Then it all went sideways." Nice line, especially since it tied into a visual later.

I really wanted to smack the director and cinematographer, and you usually don't think, "Gee, I'd like to see that on the small screen so I can figure out what was happening." But I still dug it.
