I personally find that whether or not Bubble Nails¹ are available in retail stores says a lot about the kind of women in a particular state. Please notice there aren't a helluva lotta places to buy these things on the west coast. Score one, hippies.

I actually really want these. I am a spastic freak, and I never manage to let my nails dry completely...even though I've live on the East Coast for my entire life! :)

I don't deny their usefulness in certain situations, but I do think they're pretty hilarious. I mean, they're hot pink plastic nail protectors. I can't think of a product that caters more to a TOTALLY First World "problem." You know what I mean?

I always seem to screw up the tip of ONE nail. Only one. But GAH! That one always bugs me.

These are quite frightening. Like little elbow pads ... for fingernails. eeee!

This is why I rarely do my nails. They simply aren't athletically inclined.

I SO AGREE! They look weirdly difficult -- if I had a manicurist who'd do it, that's one thing, but when I paint my nails I do them myself and I'm sure I'd get way more nicks and smudges trying to wrestle those things onto my stubby fingers than if I'd just left them alone in the first place.

With my luck, I'd end up bumping my nails all over them while attempting to put the suckers on.

I'll stick to doing my nails when I can pop in a DVD and let 'em dry the good old fashioned way.

That's what I'm saying! I think they're more trouble than they're worth, but unendingly hilarious. I wish I could see someone with them on, walking down the street.

I always laugh when I see girls with tissue paper wound between their toes. Mid-winter pedicures are funny.

Darn, they are not nearly as cool as I thought they would be. From the name, I was expecting little plastic globes that would fit over the finger, like a spaceman helmet or something.

I would have loved these things when I was a teenager in Las Vegas. I got my nails done every two weeks.
When Sean and I started dating, his fun way to torture me (this was during the winter) was to pick me up from getting my nails done, roll down my window, and turn on the AC on full while zooming down the street. I was absolutely helpless simply because my long fake-ass nails were wet.
Ah, those were the times...
