She is okay.
I start with that because I know some of you will worry. I repeat, she is okay.

So Samantha had a seizure tonight. Scared the piss out of me and Phil. She fell off the couch, was totally disoriented, unable to focus or balance. She staggered badly, favoring her back left leg and stopped reacting to noise and her pupils wouldn't dialate.

We took her to the emergency clinic like five minutes from here and Dr. Jason looked her over, recommended blood tests, (which we did, of course) and then came back and told us she was fine. She could be epileptic, but her tests were fine. She could have hyper-thyroidism or heart trouble, but she isn't really showing many indications of either. Nothing funny in her system but a bit of excess cholesterol and a slightly elevated glucosimine level, (which apparently happens to kitties producing a lot of adreneline....like kitties at vet offices). She's all normal and didn't eat anything bad. So...good for us for bringing her in, $180 please and take her home again. Also, try to watch her for the next few days. And check the colour of her gums if she ever has another one. Oh-kay.

My kitty! My beautiful Samatha kitty! I totally lost it. For those of you who know me well, you know that I am excellent in a crisis. Not so directly AFTER a crisis, but definately during one. Especially an animal crisis. Scoop the pet, quick exam, assess, treat and/or visit the vet. Well, let's just say that this time, I was especially glad Phil was here. I saw her swaying on her feet and I got as far as "Samantha?" before I damn near burst into tears. Every time I looked at her, my face crumpled and I failed at speaking coherently. Oy. Good Phil. He lost it in the bathroom at the vet's office. I lost it the rest of the time.

Stupid kitty. I love her dumb, meowy, furryness so much. Phil and I would be total wrecks right now if she wasn't okay. But she is. ...?

And, I mean, part of you thinks, "good, there isn't anything wrong with her"...but then, what's wrong with her. The vet said that it might be a one-of and not to stress about it too much. Yeah right. That's easier said than done. Anyway, we'll keep an eye on her and keep you posted.
