early morning, dreaming.

I got up 2+ hours early - and it was still late enough that I could use the carpool lane w/o being a carpool.

[info]thisisjeff was the first to comment on my early arrival, correctly inferring that I had an interview to give. Other comments included "Who took away the real Patri?", "What are you doing here?", and "Are you sick?".

Had a dream last night about being back in school (which I get often), taking some intro calculus class that was way too easy. Afterwards Prof. Moody came by to see how it was, and I said maybe I shouldn't be taking this class. I wanted something harder, and fun. "Do you have any computational biology classes?" I asked.

Later in the dream I was looking at my course list on a laptop. I thought it was funny, and wanted to write it down, but I knew I was dreaming, and that I couldn't write it down because it would just disappear because it wasn't real words, but just random brain firing. So I tried to sneakily open iJournal so I could LJ the list, but w/o looking at iJournal so that my brain wouldn't know that I was trying to copy the information and make it disappear. But since I knew that I was trying to do it, well, it disappeared.

(Another obvious flaw is that the LJ was in my brain too - but even when I knew I was dreaming, I thought of LJ as a conduit to the outside world. Pretty sick).

The only course title I remember was some pun on "it" and "IT" (information technology).

I was on a date last night with a guy I know from LiveJournal, and during conversation he said: "so my account -- LiveJournal user so-and-so -- said" to which I interjected, "You just included a LiveJournal user tag in your conversation!"

I still have notes in a dream PalmPilot that I haven't yet been able to retrieve.

I have had lucid dreams (maybe semi-awake) where I see AND feel myself lying in bed. So I attempt to move my arm a certain way just to prove to myself that I can. But instead it spasms around, as if the signal from my brain to the arm were getting jumbled (AFAIU, sleep blocks these signals at the brain, but maybe they get out if you're almost awake: I've certainly seen peoples' bodies acting out their dreams)

I wonder if what I felt was my real body. I could get a videocamera to check whether my real arm also had spasms.
