I am completely wide freaking awake. I have no urge to sleep. I have been doing this for probably almost two weeks now (probably closer to three if I'm being honest with myself). I really, really need to stop thinking of 3 am as getting to bed 'early' or 'normal'. Cuz it's not.

It's not even like I have a reason to stay up. I was working on art but that's done and while I could start up my commission I know I won't have the brain power shortly to work on it coherently. So I head to bed.

Hopefully to fall asleep before the sun comes up. Ugh.

P.S. While VH1 is better than obnoxious infomericals, new videos would be good plzkthanx.

Well, apparently my computer has lost its DVD/CD-rom driver and I nearly killed it trying out one of the solutions I found online. I don't have any disks and I don't have anyone I get to look at it and I'm cranky as hell.

It is apparently Code 39. Although when I tried that particular 'solution' I killed my computer and had to fix it by a system restore.

In case those of you where wondering about my last post about DA, I've finally got around to explaining.

My post on art_theft:

I frequently see Nami86 on the front page of DA. Considering I'm not into Naruto, I don't really look too hard. Well I liked the colors of one of her recent uploads and went trolling through her gallery.

Where I find this. Which I recognize from here.

Now I decided to a layover just in case it was just eyeballing. Which it is not.

So, has anyone ever looked through her gallery for more of these? A lot of her art looks very 'fashion magazine' but I don't read/look at those myself so I can't say for certain. And generally if a tracer does it once and gets away with it, they'll do it again.

P.S.- I already reported the above and hopefully it'll get taken care of.

EDIT: The report came back INVALID and I have noted y2Jenn to see if I can get help on this. I'll update with what happens if anyone is curious.

EDIT Dos: Received from above admin:
"If it came back invalid the reviewing administrator didn't deem it actual art theft."

Good to know that I can start posting up all those traces I've been holding back on the silly notion that I ought to work on my own merit than go the easy way!/sarcasm

She did get herself banned (for a week I assume) on an unrelated issues (under-aged depiction). I just checked to see if she was unbanned yet, which she is, and I find her quoting Picasso both ironic and highly irritating; "'Good artists copy, the great artists steal.' ^^"

This combined with the earlier post about Lily-fox not-porn artwork getting ripping down and a bunch of other little offenses just put me over the edge. It's the same complaints over and over again and the administration cares less and less when they come up. I'm not a fan-artist so they don't care. I don't bring in a million pageviews so they don't care. I don't pay them money because I don't support a lot of what they do (and don't have the extra cash) so they don't care. When it becomes clear that they have no intention of treating everyone equally under their own policies then I don't want to be associated with them. Period.

Which means deleting my gallery entirely so they have no access to my art whatsoever. It took a very long time- 4 hours or so- but it's done and over with. I realize that it's more difficult to follow my art now and I know I'll lose a lot of the casual viewers (people are lazy and want things at their fingertips which I can understand to a degree) so I've decided that I'll do bi-monthly updates on my art here. I thought about linking to each one but that could get irritating and post happy.

Yeah, I know the PD thumbnails are ridiculously small. It has its issues but I can't find a better gallery and I already had one sort of going when the whole thing went down.

I have 'real' updates to make too with some issues to discuss but I want to wait to gather my thoughts and make a phone call. I'm here, I'm alive, I've just been angsty and stupidly emo.

I just wanted to make a post to link to a stunningly beautiful image that was deleted from DA twice and got the artist banned.

It was taken down despite the fact that DA allows it's entire fetish photography section. Despite the fact I have seen a close up shot of a woman's area with a rope tied so tightly against it that it looked incredibly painful. Somehow images like that and those clearly 'reffed' from actual porn are more artistic than something beautiful and life-affirming.

To be honest, I wasn't surprised at DA, which is why I didn't try to favorite the art to begin with. When she put it up again with the 'censorship' daisy, I cheered because I thought it was a decent compromise.

But then DA banned her and that just gave me more of a reason to feel jaded and unappreciated by the site. Now I realize running such a huge site is difficult if not brain-breaking, it still doesn't sit right with me when I can type in various words like 'breast', 'butt', or pick a body part and be assaulted by images I never wanted to see.  I don't know how to fix it, or if it can be fixed, but I wanted to share this with other people so they can understand my disappointment and disgust. 

No I'm not leaving DA, nor am I saying we should storm the castles but I do think we should practice 'civil disobedience' and post more art that shares in this theme. The beauty of love and body explored in an artistic way. Fight fire with fire and such.

While I know sometimes pretty guys can be androgynous and Cumber is DEFINITELY a pretty guy, I don't have any sympathy and will mock you if neither of the guys in the image are wearing their shirt(s) properly and therefore clearly looking male.

This is the commission I finished for Andy. I'm not putting it up on DA because I don't want to deal with the perverts. It's unfortunate because I do like their faces/expressions regardless of what people can read in the picture on the whole. I know the dark-haired girl's arm is too long but I didn't go back and fix it because I would've had to go back and adjust the whole image.

These are two more of his City of Heroes characters, Machination and Inspiration. Both have real world actresses for their faces, Grace Park (from Battlestar Galactica) and Emma... L something. She was a Power Ranger from what I can tell from looking her up online. The yellow dinosaur one.



It was fun to do and I might upload it to Paperdemon. Haven't decided yet. Also, I need to update my 'home' gallery something fierce. O_< I just wish it was less ugly. God I need to know HTML.  Now I'm off to draw a horse and girly clothes!

Is his hand distractingly shaped? I think it might be. I KNOW that pose is possible I just don't think I've pulled it off well (that and it's really hard to do without someone to look at/a mirror). Help? If someone could take a picture of their hand in that kind of offering up/hey look at this sort of cupping gesture I'd appreciate it.

Also, does anyone know how to convert .flac files to MP3's? I downloaded some songs but I can't get them to play via my iTunes.
