a shout-out to the lovely ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) whymzycal for the sweet beta job. Prince of Tennis, Atobe, Oshitari, "Heart," GAtobe chances upon Oshitari in a study carrel in one of the more obscure sections of the Hyotei library. There are a few thick tomes and a couple of notebooks open, but on top of them is the black leather Coach portfolio Atobe'd given him the previous Christmas. From what Atobe can make out, Oshitari is drawing a broken, bleeding heart on the writing pad with a tube of blood-red Chanel lipstick. Atobe hates when Oshitari gets hit with melancholia like that. For all his egotism, Atobe is only a fourteen-year-old boy and naive about love, so he doesn't know what to say to his sensitive friend at such times. Instead, stepping up behind Oshitari and reaching around him, he removes the lipstick from Oshitari's hand and caps it, then takes out a pen and a bottle of liquid paper. He fills the gaps between the pieces of heart with blue ink and white-outs the dribbles of blood. Oshitari has been watching wordlessly all the while, but when Atobe's hands stop moving, he turns his head and blinks. His eyes are as round as the lenses of his glasses, and the corners of his lips begin to tilt up. "Oshitari, you need a change of scenery. Want to go play some tennis?" this is the meme: 1. comment on this post. 2. i will give you a letter. 3. think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your lj. whymzycal gave me the letter "p" out of spite. i'm naming these characters as they occur to me. 1. pikachu of pokemon: pika pika ... pikachu! 2. peter pan: er ... comments ... hmm ... 3. peter parker of spiderman: i haven't seen the movies or read the comics, but i could make up some comments if you insist ... 4. persia of weiss kreuz: he's sort of like charlie of charlie's angels where he's only a voice, except in this case, you eventually see him at the end of the anime. and someone else takes over his spot and you also know who he is. but anyway, persia is in charge of a band of vigilantes and tries to defeat the evil forces. he gets killed, of course, because in anime, the rule of thumb is, life sucks and then you die. 5. patrick colasour of gundam 00: he's a bit of a comic relief character and i like him for his enthusiasm. hahah! i'm so deep and intellectual ... i thought of winnie the pooh, but i wasn't sure if he qualified since winnie is his name, and pooh could be his species of bear ... there's also peregrine took, but i've already got 5, and also harry potter, but i never read the books and only saw a couple of movies ... my home computer got hit by lightning! now i know some of you who know me know that i'm prone to hyperbole, but i'm not kidding! there's been mad thunderstorms around where i live for a while and friday was quite wild. now i'm not stupid; i have a surge protector for my computer, but not the phone line ... my computer is connected to a modem and apparently lightning hit the phone box outside my house. i heard a pop and thought, oh noes, my modem is shot. well, the phone lines went down, so i called a repair guy on Saturday, but fixing the line didn't restore my internet connection. it restored my brother's connection, but that's no good to me! so i called my isp and i must say the guy i got was extremely helpful. he helped me through creating a new connection, doing a system restore, and in the end he said, i'm sure it's the ethernet card; you'll have to have that replaced. i couldn't decide if i should just get that replaced or get a new computer and flailed around for a bit. i thought i was going to have to sink about $100 into the thing. finally, i broke down and called staples. they quoted me $15 for the card and $15 for service! you cannot imagine a happier bunny! and now it seems my connection is faster than before :-D anyway, so that delayed me inflicting prince of tennis things on you lot for a whole weekend! this is my favourite christmas series of all the sets out there [except for sanada/yukimura – there's no excuse for that!] and i scored these things quite cheaply off ebay – aren't the little figures cute?!   now i thought these cards were random, so i was very surprised that i got the whole set!
