Please note that my personal LJ is [info]ohiblather. I started it so that people would know when I updated my Blatherings.

[info]ohi is no longer active.

DISCLAIMER: I realize that most of you have no problem with LJpoliticstuff, so can happily skip the rest of this posting :-). However, from time to time I feel compelled to publicly post my own LJ situation, to avoid potential misunderstandings. Please do see my LJ "Friends" policy if you haven't already. An updated excerpt from that posting:

re: commenting in people's journals. No, I don't post a lot of comments. If I don't comment in your journal, please don't take it personally. I mostly read instead of posting (and until recently haven't been doing much reading because of tendinitis). I don't expect people to post in mine...if they do, I'm flattered and interested in what they have to say, but I don't get upset if they don't, and I always assume that they are posting because they want to, not because they are expecting me to post in their journals in return.

When I see friends in person (no matter how close), I never automatically assume they are reading my Blatherings or have kept up with my Blatherings. I try to scan my LJ Friends list regularly as well as journals of those friends not on LJ, but sometimes I simply can't. It doesn't mean I have no interest in your life. It means that my own life has to take priority, and sometimes this means not keeping up with everyone else's.

I've noticed a recent trend of people posting personal messages for specific people in their Livejournals as a sort of substitute for personal e-mail/phone contact. This may work for some people, but if you have a message or info for me and want me to see it sooner than later, PLEASE TELL ME IN E-MAIL (even if it's a group mail) OR IN PERSON OR BY PHONE. Please. I promise to do the same, ok? :-)

I think it's wonderful how quickly the LJ community is growing. I also think it wonderful how online journals help keep some friends in touch with what's going on in each other's lives. I post my journal, read other journals, and post occasional comments for fun/support, not out of obligation.

Oh, the big sad eyes on the CartoonDebbie!

Thanks for the refresher.
This one's a keeper. You may want to post a link to it every once in a while to educate the newbies and refresh the veterans/old-timers. As far as I know, LiveJournal keeps all old posts; they don't delete them. I know it still has my first entry from 2 years ago. It's a great feature for all the packrats and archivists out there. (Speaking of which, didn't you post this sometime last year?)

Here's the link to today's entry: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ohiblather/78210.html. Alternatively, you can use the posting date in the URL, like this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ohiblather/2004/04/13/.

Gosh. I'd take everything you said as a given. This is a fun thing to do, but not one's whole life. Though I'm told it can take over... really... I can quit whenever I want to... (g)

I could be wrong, but it looks like your picture was entered in a Fark Photoshop contest.

Thanks for letting me know. I was all ready to be outraged, but the Photoshop mod the guy did to the photo was pretty amusing. :-)
