We are seeing more and more people who get accounts here for the purpose of getting you to give them your personal contact information so they can sell the data to others for marketing purposes.

They say in posts that they are looking for buddies. They ask you to send them email. They want msn, aim, myspace, etc. Sometimes they "make friends" with you and ask you to call (your number shows up on their phone). They can be very convincing.

I'm getting more reports now from people who have been contacted "out of the blue" on ed-related matters, and when I ask, they all have responded at some point to people asking for contact information.

Our communities are a good contact point. There's not much reason for going beyond them to other forms of contact in most cases.

It's time to get serious about our website. It's currently located at:

The idea of the website is to have links along the left side so we can jump from community to community quickly and easily among all of our communities (more communities will be coming)

Other links will also be included. It will be tough to coordinate the links after a while.

The main page should have current information - a place where everyone can get news or info on current proanorexia issues. It should be updated almost daily.

1. Using "Proanorexia" on the page makes it difficult for many members if someone walks in the room. What do you think would be a title that wouldn't get anyone in trouble?

2. Keeping in mind that the "news" box on the first page will be white with black text and will change almost daily, how should the top of the page look? We want a professional look. Got any links to professional looking sites you like?

3. Using java or flash means things get screwed up for some users, so I like to stick with the simpler html programming. Anyone have ideas for the left column? The look? What links to include?

Any other thoughts about how to set up the site would be appreciated, including any programming abilities any of you may have to help with it.

We need to generate some capital and keep everything free for you at the same time.

One way to do that is to sell products through our proanorexia website. Products that you would buy anyway, priced at or below what you would normally pay, so that it is not costing you anything, but the sales profit will go to Proanorexia instead of to some other store or retailer.

Let me know what products you would like to buy online - I will look into getting wholesale connections and selling them to you.

I welcome any discussion on this topic - and other ideas for generating revenue that don't really cost anything to the members.
