:-( A Golden Girl has died.  Just heard that Estelle Getty passed this morning.

Ok, tell me why anyone would steal some cheap plastic stackable chairs from our patio.. and our welcome mat? 

There have been a bunch of people moving in and out, our only thought is that a mover accidentally grabbed stuff from the wrong apartment... its not like they took anything valuable.. they left our bucket at least.  (Thus preventing a lot of bad bukit steelin' jokes... )

Am going to call the office tomorrow and let them know about the thefts, as an FYI.  Not like we're going to call the police. LOL

Though we keep finding strange odd pieces of white plastic that Lucy may or may not have been chewing. We're wondering if perhaps shes holding the chairs hostage and bringing them to us piece by piece until we give her fries. (She's on a diet. LOL)

SO much fun!!  I truly must see it over and over. LOL

I have a question... was thinking about slang and word usage a couple days ago with my roommate and I remembered that my Great Aunt always said "yersday" (or "yursday"?) instead of "yesterday".  Now she grew up in the early 1900's. (Was in high school in the 20's.. I have her yearbooks!)  Was that an early 1900's slang or usage for "yesterday"  It seems like it could very well have been, but I'd never heard it any other place than her.  So it could also be just something she said. (Like my grandmother saying thoriasis for Thesaurus. LOL yes, seriously. LOL)

A Great White was spotted swimming off the coast of Martha's Vinyard. For those of you not playing at home (Or don't know me.. LOL) That's where JAWS was filmed.

They closed the beaches yesterday (Hey, at least it was *after* the July 4th weekend.. ;) ) but they're open today as no other shark has been spotted.

And as typical for things like this... there was the hoax sighting...

(The name alone makes me go.. Bwuh??)  Gods I'm old fashioned when it comes to the Funeral Industry. LOL I get that from the Grandparents.

DO NOT FUCK IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE WEATHER CHANNEL IS FOR WEATHER, NOT INANE CAST CROSSOVERS, NOT INANE PRODUCT PLACEMENT. THE PROGRAMMING IS WEATHER. 1. Learned how to do cartwheels in the viewing room of the funeral home.

2. Rode from Saginaw Michigan to Centralia, Illinois in a hearse with a body in back.  (I often went on pick-ups with my grandfather..he said, "Let's go" so I always did.  He called me his "go kid"  heh)

Hmmm.. something not funeral home related.....which is a good thing in this case. LOL

3. Survived Open Heart Surgery at age 7, (In 1972) (on my mother's birthday, no less!)  and was apparently one of the first children to have that kind of surgery. I dimly recall TV cameras.. or something, but I was a wee tad out of it. LOL  I may have to ask my mother about that. :)


Oh and YAY its WHO Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I can't believe this season is nearly over already! It just staaaaarrrted!  whines

And I really had fun! I'm going to enjoy getting to know and learning to knit from these ladies!   Finally, I have a hobby that not only I can keep up with, but has local folks around that I can get to know. W00t!  heh

Also.. smoke is eerily creepy.. and hard on my sinuses.  Plz to be going away nao firez.

Watching something on Travel Channel called America's Top Ten.. and today they are counting down the top 10 Mega Structures.  The Gateway Arch was number 3.  They showed how the Arch is hollow and that you can ride to the top. *sigh* made me a little homesick.  :)

Incidentally number 2 is the Golden Gate Bridge.  Wonder how many other places I've lived were featured? LOL (I missed the bottom 5...)

Number 1 is the Hoover Dam. (Not surprisingly )


BTW.. while I was at the con, I learned (or started to!) how to knit. So I'm working on my very first project, which is eventually going to be a scarf. It was going to be a small learn to knit kind of hot pad.. but I liked how the yarn is knitting up so well, that I decided in for a penny....and am making a long scarf. :)

Got a week long assignment starting Monday. its short, but hey.. its money. maybe I'll get lucky and they decide they really really like me. LOL

Oh yes! That was an amazing speech. I am really really proud to call Barack Obama my candidate. Hells yes!!! This was a long time coming.. but it is sweet beyond belief... Squeee!!!!  Now onto the General Election, and the White House!  He can do it!!
