Look at my new layout :D It was created by milou_veronica at freelayouts and it's so pretty :) The cat layout I had before this one was really good too but a bit difficult to navigate around because of the animations on links and such.

And yes, I realize it's rather girly. Oh well :)

Today I've been pretty much relaxing and doing occasional school work. In fact, I should be concentrating on my essay on Hamlet right now so I'll keep this entry short :P

I miss my lovely but it's not long until I can see her again. And she's having fun with her family which is very good :)

I want to make cookies. I should really start eating less sugar *g*

Hmm. For once, my English-Finnish translation classes are interesting. We're working on groups of 3, making subtitles for a BBC film about humpback whales. It's surprisingly difficult at points because sometimes we have to shorten the Finnish translation radically so that it fits in the screen. Unlike in many other countries, in Finland we don't dub movies and TV shows all that much, I'd say that about 90% of dubbed shows are kids' series. So there's a lot of work for translators and subtitlers :D

I'm getting a matress for my new bed today. I was meant to get it last week but someone messed up with the order so now I have the bed without the matress :P This week I've been sleeping on my couch bed and it's starting to get a bit uncomfortable to say the least. I'm so happy I'll be able to sleep properly after today :) ...if they only delivered the damn matress already. They said they'd bring it some time between 11 and 12 and it's almost 12 already.

Carmen's visiting her family in Canada for some while. It's so strange, wanting to send a text message or something, only to realize that her phone has been turned off for the duration of the flight. Oh well, it's only, er, 8.5 hours. Poor dear, I hope she won't get too sore on the plane.

Edit: Ahhah. They just phoned me from the furniture store. It's past 1 pm now and I had already begun to wonder if we had agreed that they'd deliver the matress at 1 pm and not 11 am. But no, it was their mistake. Bloody idiots had forgot about the delivery. First they don't order the matress and then they forget to deliver it. Damn geniuses, these people are.

Mm. Have been visiting the folks this weekend and strangely enough, have gotten next to no schoolwork done. Funny how that happens. In Joensuu, I do have numerous distractions and everything, but I always get a lot of stuff done there. But here it's like "ahhh well, I think I'm going to go play the Sims" :P

Ah well, back to Joensuu today it is. And this week I don't really feel like going to my English-Finnish translation lessons. We're going to be using a subtitling program to see how it works and otherwise that would be okay but we're going to be working in small groups and for some reason, I've never really been all that fond of working in groups :/ Perhaps because I like doing school-related things on my own and whenever I want, without being tied to other people's schedules :P Oh well, I guess I should get used to it. But I won't like it XD

On other news, my girlfriend is cute :) And yes, I do like being annoyingly girlfriendy but it's fun :)

Woohoo! I just wrote a silly little 500-word essay in just a few hours :D ...I know it doesn't sound all that impressive but do consider that in Finnish, we write a lot of words together. For example, "search engine" is "hakukone" in Finnish :P Oh, and we don't have definite or indefinite articles.

So yay :D

And yes, I'm still alive :) And feeling fahbulous, as per usual.

And I'm getting a new bed in a couple of days and bought a new toilet mat today and it's fuzzy!

O hi thar. Apologies for such a small number of lj entries this summer (I'm sure that everyone cares so much, lol :P) but most importantly, for a great lack of comments and replies to other people's entries. It's not that I don't care, it's just that I've developed a bad habit of browsing through my friends page like, once a day, not paying real attention to much anything, with a few exceptions :) Perhaps that will change somewhat now that I don't have to work anymore. I have no idea how school is going to affect, though, as I'm planning on working a lot harder with school stuff this year :)

Now, before I forget, does anyone know where to make icons like this: ? As per usual, I love all kinds of icon, avatar and doll makers on the Internet because of my lack of attention, I have no idea where to go to make these particular icons :P

Soon I'll be on my way downtown to have sushi with mom and buy all sorts of nice things both for myself and others. Yay! Perhaps I should make a list, I have quite a few things to buy...

Also, if you were wondering, my girlfriend fucking rocks :] I'm so happy :)

Durrr. Very short update on my life because I'm lazy :P

Weekend: went to RopeCon with riseandshine and a bunch of other fun people. It was marvellous and the place was full of interesting and strange people. I have pictures which I might post later :P

Work: we have a new cleaner who keeps talking ALL the time about the most boring things ever and is amazingly clueless. Drives me mad, really. She can't use the washing machine and doesn't know where anything is. I have no time to look after her D:
